BEMROSEBOOTH PARAGON SHORTLISTED FOR AWARDS SUCCESS

BemroseBooth Paragon (BBP), Europe’s leading supplier of magnetic, paper and smart tickets, is celebrating after fending off hundreds of nominees to be shortlisted as a finalist in not one but two prestigious awards.

Featuring in the innovation and international business of the year of the Yorkshire Business Masters Awards, BBP was one of just 37 nominees to make it through to the final stages of the judging process, which celebrated excellence, entrepreneurship, growth and enterprise.

Separately, BBP has also been named a finalist in the Insider Made in Yorkshire awards in two categories: technology and manufacturer under £25m.

The business, which has sites in Hull and Boston, has been recognised for its ability to adapt to a changing industry and extend its product portfolio to create a sustainable future for the business.

To meet with customer demands, BBP has developed a technology centre dedicated to supplying RFID and smart based products. In addition, the business has also invested heavily in its product portfolio by working with Hull University Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) to create a division focusing on the manufacture of magnetic tickets.

As a result, Chemistry graduate, Haydn Ward, was appointed at BPP and worked on a project seeing him reformulate and refine the technology required for the business to become one of the only manufacturers of magnetic ink in Europe.

General Manager of BBP  comments: “We are extremely pleased to be one of the few businesses shortlisted in both the Yorkshire Business Masters and Made in Yorkshire Awards. This achievement reinforces our commitment to continual improvement and to the quality of the products we produce and the service that we deliver.

“It is also testament to our investment and shared belief in the business that has driven BBP forward and allowed us to evolve and retain our position as a market leader. Without such commitment and our dedicated team, we would not be the business that we are today. We would like to thank all our staff for their contribution in helping us achieve this accreditation.”

The winners of the Made in Yorkshire Awards will be announced on Thursday 20th April at a ceremony taking place at the Royal Armouries in Leeds.

BBP is a trading division of Paragon, which over the last 12 months has produced over a billion magnetic tickets to support the UK rail network alone.
