ParkOmaha Parking App Comes to University of Nebraska at Omaha

University partners with city-wide ParkOmaha app, powered by Passport, for mobile payment options

Omaha, NE — Drivers on campus now have more options to pay for parking at the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO). The university is adding a mobile parking payment option, utilizing ParkOmaha, an application powered by Passport, the global leader for mobile payments for parking and transit.

Beginning Tuesday, Aug. 15, the City of Omaha’s official parking app, ParkOmaha, can be used to pay for parking at five zones throughout the campus, including Lot A, Lot M, Lot V, West Garage, and Pacific Street Garage. UNO is adding the parking app to provide a convenient parking experience. The ParkOmaha app was rolled out city-wide in 2013.

The app makes parking easier by allowing users to purchase parking with a debit or credit card from their smartphones. Parkers can also:

  • Receive alerts when their parking sessions are low on time
  • Extend their parking sessions remotely
  • View all parking history
  • Receive email receipts
  • Get updates and alerts

“We’re excited to partner with ParkOmaha to now provide a mobile parking option for UNO,” said Vanessa Rath, UNO parking and transit operations manager. “The ParkOmaha app has already been well-received by students, residents and visitors in Omaha and we are excited to extend that capability to our university. Technology is advancing at a rapid pace, and mobile payments for parking will give people on campus a new way to pay and manage their parking at hourly and daily increments.”

“Passport is thrilled to expand the ParkOmaha app to the university,” said Kelsey Owens, sales executive at Passport. “Smartphone technology adds convenience in a variety of ways, and we’re proud to play a part in the university’s forward-thinking initiatives.”

ParkOmaha is free to download from the App Store and Google Play. The app is available where users see ParkOmaha signage. Users can also manage their parking at https://omaha.ppprk.com/park/.
