APT-SKIDATA opens the gate to Access-IS

June 19, 2015

APT SKIDATA, the Access Solutions and Visitor Management specialist, has just taken delivery of their latest batch of Access-IS barcode scanners.

Now installed in hundreds of SKIDATA column solutions, the Access-IS LSR116 2D OEM barcode scanner is an integral part of a system’s overall performance and is a key factor in determining the user experience.

Of critical importance to customers specifying parking gates is their ability to process and release vehicles efficiently and reliably. By doing so vehicle throughput is optimised, queues are minimised and car park utilisation and profitability are maximised. The LSR116’s ability to read tickets with almost zero latency and in any orientation from smartphones, tablets and paper simplifies the main ‘human interaction’ significantly and allows for minimal instruction to be given.

The LSR116 is an innovative, high-tech solution. The simple plug-in design, using just a single bracket, enables it to be quickly and cost-effectively integrated into the SKIDATA entry/exit devices.

Compact, sealed and water and dust-resistant, the LSR116 is used at thousands of sites around the globe including car parks, stadia, train stations and airports to name but a few. Its new sibling, the LSR118, now adds NFC functionary to the mix, further extending its capabilities.

Ben Walby, New Product Development Manager, APT SKIDATA commented: “The Access-IS device is designed for both indoor and outdoor environments, and all weather conditions, giving us absolute flexibility when it comes to the positioning of our gates.

“It reads all of our required barcode symbologies and integrates seamlessly with the SKIDATA parking application,” he continues, “and we are very happy with its performance,” Ben concludes.
