Passport and Automotus partner to streamline curb management

Charlotte, N.C.  — Automotus, an emerging innovator in curb management technology, and Passport, the leader in unified parking and curb management, are partnering to transform how cities manage their curbspace. By combining Passport’s industry-leading platform and Automotus’ first-of-its-kind computer vision technology, the companies are providing customers with a more holistic view of their curb and unlocking seamless workflows to support safer, more livable communities.

More than 800 cities and private operators across North America trust Passport’s platform to power and operate mobile pay parking, parking enforcement, digital permitting, payments and more. This collaboration will provide Passport clients with access to Automotus’ cutting-edge computer vision technology and Automotus clients with access to Passport’s comprehensive suite of parking and mobility solutions.

“In addition to our technology, Passport’s end-to-end parking and mobility management solutions provides our clientbase with a cohesive view of how vehicles are moving throughout their city streets,” says Jordan Justus, Automotus Co-Founder and CEO. “We are excited to partner with Passport and hundreds of cities across the U.S. to connect the dots on curb activity, reduce congestion and support safer streets.”

Additionally, multimodal curb and traffic activity data collected through Automotus’ computer vision technology as well as curbside automations are now offered to Passport’s clientbase. The technology, which blurs faces and anonymizes data, can help facilitate numerous goals depending on a city’s needs, including managing loading zones, incentivizing EV adoption, improving parking compliance, generating and analyzing parking and traffic data, and more.

“There is very little knowledge of what is happening in loading zones or other places where commercial vehicles park, making it difficult for city leaders to create policy that is impactful and effective,” says Jason Sutton, Passport SVP of Curbside Solutions. “By joining forces with Automotus, we can provide even more insight into curb activity, empowering cities with the data needed to evaluate patterns, identify opportunities and implement policies.”

Automotus and Passport already share a portfolio of municipal clients who are in the early stages of implementing the joint Passport and Automotus technologies. This partnership will open up a wide range of opportunities for cities and organizations across the country to implement a comprehensive approach to their curb management needs, obtain valuable data to optimize their operations, and support the evolving parking and curb demand and expectations of the communities they serve.

About Automotus

Automotus is the leader in automated curb management, working with cities to make our communities safer, healthier and more accessible by addressing the unprecedented rise in commercial vehicle congestion and emissions. Automotus has developed a first-of-its-kind computer vision technology that’s deployed at the curb to enable automated Smart Loading Zones, which help cities, airports, fleets and small businesses manage curb activity, make data-driven policy decisions and incentivize electric vehicle adoption—all without the need for a parking app or kiosk.

About Passport

Passport is the leader in unified parking and curb management. By integrating parking, enforcement and payments into one software solution, Passport is the only platform that brings together the complexities of mobility operations into one view to help cities improve decision-making and efficiencies. From mobile payments to citation issuance, permitting technology and more, Passport is empowering cities of all sizes with better insights to improve parking turnover, expand revenue opportunities, and create more livable communities. Passport is trusted by more than 800 clients across North America.

Parkable partners with Engrain to provide parking efficiencies across multi-tenanted buildings

October 30, 2023

Parkable partners with Engrain to provide parking efficiencies across multi-tenanted buildings

DENVER, Oct. 30, 2023 — Parkable, the leading Parking Management Software, has announced an integration with Engrain, a recognized leader in next-generation touring technology and map-based data visualization.

The combination of Parkable’s Multi-Tenant Platform and Engrain’s Unit Map technology will now allow commercial and multifamily property owners and managers to better visualize and understand the utilization of their parking spaces.

Property managers can often find it challenging to manage parking lots shared amongst multiple tenants and residents with the prevalence of vacant spaces, combined with the absence of effective tools to encourage multi-use parking.

There is often a lack of visibility as to how the parking area is used, resulting in the inability to monetize parking and make the best use of the spaces available. The complexity of accommodating how tenants use parking allocations, such as whether they’re workers, guests, or residential parkers, creates further challenges.

The integration of Engrain’s Unit Maps into the Parkable platform creates efficiencies and convenience to parking management. With dynamic maps of car parks now accessible on the Parkable admin panel, property managers can get direct insights into their parking spaces, streamline their parking operations, and maximize revenue.

Through real-time interactivity, the admin panel map accurately mirrors the layout of the car park, with parking spaces color-coded based on their type and status, such as: allocated, occupied, unused, Electric Vehicle, Visitor and more.

The enhanced map experience also lets spaces be easily filtered by specific groups, tenants or types.

“Until now, parking for commercial properties has been a hassle. With many property managers and owners having to shuffle car parking arrangements to secure a new tenant, and manage the day to day of car parking. With the Parkable Multi-Tenant Platform, property managers can easily view, adjust, and confirm parking permits and licenses in one place, making both the initial rent up, and the ongoing operations easy & profitable” says Parkable CEO, Toby Littin.

“Shifting away from traditional management methods like spreadsheets and static maps, this integration directly addresses typical parking pain points,” he says.

“Every real estate software application should have a relevant map, it feels like a no-brainer but it’s surprising how many don’t!” says Engrain CEO, Brent Steiner.  “Our vision is to partner with innovators like Parkable who are solving real estate’s hardest problems by providing map visualization via modern APIs,” he says. “Underutilized and under-monetized parking is both a problem and an opportunity for commercial and multifamily owners and operators and this partnership offers a great option,” says Steiner.

Beyond these benefits, Parkable offers broader advantages.

“Our new Multi-Tenant foundation provides visibility into parking spaces and leases, enabling reporting and management across tenants, reducing administrative time, and maintaining a comprehensive record,” says Littin.   “With this integration, we are a step closer to completely redefining the commercial parking landscape,” he concludes.

About Parkable:
Parkable is committed to simplifying parking management and enhancing the overall experience. Key benefits include:

  1. Better utilization of parking spaces: Through booking and sharing, Parkable’s integrated platform addresses supply and demand challenges between office occupiers, maximizes parking space usage, reducing vacancies, and boosting revenue from parking assets.
  2. Streamlined parking management: With features and interactive maps on the admin panel, property managers can save valuable time and effort in parking administration.
  3. Enhanced tenant and employee satisfaction: Providing a user-friendly app for tenants and enabling bookings and sharing of unused parking spaces enhances tenant satisfaction and fosters a positive tenant community.
  4. Improved parking efficiency: Parkable’s parking management system automates processes and provides records of service, reducing parking administration.
  5. Data-driven insights: Data and analytics empowers property managers to make informed decisions and improve parking operations.
