Pompano Beach, FL – ZipBy, a global leader in ticketless technology today announced the launch of parking permits feature at Joyce Parking surface lot at 58 Pearl St, Buffalo, New York.

 

Drivers can now apply for and purchase a casual or permanent parking permit right inside the ZipBy app. It’s fast and simple to get the JP/ZipBy hangtag and register the plate to park. No invoices needed, no login needed, 100% control by the parker under autopay.  

 

ZipBy’s development team worked with Joyce Parking for 6 months to integrate this permits feature into the app and backend portal and feedback from parking operator and customers has been applied to this new feature.

 

ZipBy Permits are suitable for permanent staff and groups of tenants.  Permits can also be used for onsite contractors. Permit settings include duration, rate, grace period, terms and conditions as well as having the ability to attach images and files to the application process.

In Europe, Mercedes-Benz drivers can also now pay for parking in 14 countries, following the successful initial launch with Parkopedia. The automaker’s latest infotainment system seamlessly integrates Parkopedia parking data, dynamic availability predictions and in-car transactions, enabling drivers to easily find, reserve and navigate to suitable parking locations and pay from the comfort of their vehicle. Motorists can search for specific parking locations or browse through nearby car parks to their end destination with recent searches and relevant parking details displayed on-screen to assist in making informed parking decisions.

Drivers can also pre-book parking before a trip by selecting applicable parking locations and reserving a space via the infotainment system. The system enables motorists to select check-in and check-out times, view the total cost and confirm their booking, at which point drivers will be sent a QR code to scan when arriving at the car park to gain entry in the absence of Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR).

Amusement parks often mean an unforgettable day of fun but also endless long waiting lines from the beginning to the end of the visit.

Merlin Entertainments’s Legoland amusement parks (starting with New York and California) decided to face one of their most critical caveats: the frustration and inconvenience for visitors caused by long waiting lines at the parking lot.

That is why the Legoland team upgraded visitors’ experience while getting the most out of their parking assets.

Legoland needed the parking user experience to be easy, quick, and efficient while reducing potential lost revenue.

A Solution based on LPR

HUB Parking is the Parking system in charge of creating the new Legoland Pre-booking / Gateless / Free-Flow Ticketless Parking based on LPR, using Survision Micropak cameras.

Now Legoland entry lanes are fully free flow while exiting lanes gates are equipped with gates and License plate recognition to decide to open the gate if prepaid or to activate a pay station otherwise.

Fast Exit for Prepaid Customers: When exiting the park, LPR system  will check your payment status and if Prepaid, it will open the barrier and let you go without stopping

On-site Pay Station: If your plate couldn’t be read at the entrance or if you didn’t Pre-book, the system  will instruct you to make payment at the Pay Station

Advanced data gathering and statistics: This digitalization process allows for collecting behavioral and transactional information on every visit, giving the company a better understanding of its customers and an opportunity to tune up its service.

LAZ Wins Contract For Two Parking Garages in White Plains, NY Central Business District   

 

 

Hartford, CT – April 26, 2023, LAZ Parking announced today that it has been selected to manage 1,200 parking spaces in two garages attached to and near Westchester One, a 21-story Class A office tower at 44 Broadway, White Plains NY. The 907,000 square-foot building is the oldest office tower in central business district of White Plains and anchored by New York Life. Under the terms of the contract with Argent Ventures, LAZ will operate a 500 spaces in the garage attached to Westchester One and an additional 700 parking spaces at an Argent-owned garage at 120 Westchester Ave.

“LAZ is honored to have been chosen to manage parking operations at this prominent property at the heart of the White Plains central business district,” said Alan Lazowski, Chairman, CEO, and Founder of LAZ Parking. “We work hard every day to provide the highest level of service to clients and customers. Argent purchased the property in 2017. The garage attached to Westchester One garage is renovated and renovations and upgrades are underway in the lobby, cafeteria and tenant lounge of the building. Westchester One has a total of 2,600 parking spaces in its garage and parking annex, both of which have controlled security gates, upgraded lighting, and 24/7 security monitoring.

First License Plate Bobble Series Unveiled on License Plates Day

 

 

 

MILWAUKEE – April 25, 2023 – This morning, to celebrate License Plates Date, the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum unveiled the first License Plate Bobbles. Bobbles for all 50 states were released, and each bobble features the state’s current license plate design on a base with two large springs that provide maximum bobbling action for each license plate. License Plates Day is celebrated annually on April 25 to commemorate the first license plate in the U.S., which was issued in 1901.

The first license plate bobbles feature each state’s current design. The license plate, which is on a double spring for extra bobbing action, measures 3×6 inches, which is proportionate to actual license plates. Each bobble is individually numbered to each state’s year of statehood, and they are only available through the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum’s Online Store. The bobbles, which are expected to ship in August, are $30 each plus a flat-rate shipping charge of $8 per order. A set of all 50 is available for $1,400.

License Plates Day is celebrated annually on April 25th to recognize the first license plate issued in the U.S., which was in 1901. Prior to that, there was no official marking or designation on any vehicle. In 1901, New York became the first state to issue a license plate on vehicles after Governor Benjamin Odell Jr. signed a new bill into law that required motor vehicle owners to be registered with the state. George F. Chamberlain is credited as the first person to receive a license plate for his vehicle. The trend was quickly picked up by West Coast states.

The U.S. took its lead from the Netherlands and France, which started a national database for license plates in the early-1890s. In 1903, Massachusetts was the first state to issue plates. In 1928, Idaho was the first state to put a logo on the plate (the “Idaho Potato”). Today, there are more than 250 million registered vehicles in the country, and each of them has a unique license number plate for a given state.
