NuPark Adds Florida International University to Growing Customer Base
AUSTIN, TEXAS: DECEMBER 4, 2014 -‐ NuPark announced today that Florida International University (FIU) will be implementing the NuPark parking management system solution to assist in the management of campus parking operations. The NuPark system leverages License Plate Recognition (LPR) technology to help organizations revolutionize the management of their operation and realize immediate customer service and revenue improvements. With approximately 54,000 students, Florida International University is the fifth-‐largest university in the United States. Operating in an environment with such a large number of student parkers, as well as campus faculty, staff and visitors, means the dynamics of managing parking operations are constantly evolving. Consumers expect more convenient and innovative ways to find and pay for parking. “New technologies are changing the way the world searches, reserves, and pays for services. Today’s consumers can search for an airline ticket or reserve a car on their smartphone and with the introduction of the mobile wallet adoption rate of mobile payment usage has increased,” said Tom Hartley, Executive Director of the FIU Department of Parking and Transportation. “We want to leverage these transformational technologies to enhance our service offerings, gain operational efficiencies, and improve financial results. NuPark provides the platform to make this possible. Florida International University is the latest university to partner with NuPark. Texas Tech University was the first implementation and has realized significant improvements in customer satisfaction, revenue generation, and efficiency. NuPark’s CEO & Co-‐Founder, Kevin Uhlenhaker, said he knows that Florida International University will see the same benefits as other NuPark customers. “We are excited to partner with the innovative and student-‐focused team at Florida International University. The move to NuPark’s LPR based parking system will allow FIU to improve customer service while increasing operational efficiencies,” said Uhlenhaker. “We wanted a software solution that could be integrated into our enterprise system, is extensible, legacy compatible, and had interactive/ad hoc reporting capabilities,” said Hartley. “NuPark provides a well-‐designed user experience with real-‐time information which we believe is the right selection for us.” About NuPark NuPark provides back-‐office software, in-‐field hardware, and e-‐commerce solutions designed for parking enforcement and permit management.
