Parkhound Accepted Onto Prestigious Melbourne Accelerator Program (MAP)
Parkhound, Australia’s Number 1 Car Park marketplace has been accepted onto the prestigious Melbourne Accelerator Program (MAP), run by The University of Melbourne. Considered one of the pre-eminent accelerators in Asia, the program will see Parkhound travel to Silicon Valley in October to meet with major VC’s and Private Investors.
Since launching the program in 2012, MAP has gone from strength to strength. Counting 121 Cast, VenueMob and Brosa as previous inductees, MAP start-ups have collectively raised over $7.8 million in funding and created more than 80 jobs. With over 61 nominations this year, Parkhound was 1 of 8 start-ups to be selected after a thorough assessment process held over four stages.
Co-founder, Michael Nuciforo was excited about starting the program, “The University of Melbourne is one of the great global academic institutions and their alumni network is unparalleled. With backing from Google and ANZ as well, Parkhound is looking forward to taking the business to the next level”.
As part of the program, Parkhound will get dedicated office space at the new LAB-14 start-up hub on Grattan Street, Carlton. The location of the old Royal Women’s Hospital is undergoing extensive redevelopment in preparation for its re-launch in July. Parkhound will also get to travel to Sydney and Silicon Valley to present to major VC’s and Private Investors at Google HQ.
“There are some great opportunities for us to collaborate with academics and students at Melbourne University to develop the smart city strategies of the future”, added co-founder Robert Crocitti “With our propriety residential, commercial and street parking platform, we can make getting in and out of our cities more efficient”.
