Washington, DC (June 30, 2015)—The 2015 biennial National Valet Olympics, occurring in conjunction with the National Parking Association (NPA) 2015 Convention & Exposition, will take place September 2 and 3 at the Fontainebleau Miami Beach in Florida. NPA’s Convention & Expo runs from August 31-September 3, also at the Fontainebleau Miami Beach.

The Valet Olympics is an international skills competition representing valet teams of four from both the private and public sectors, showcasing the professionalism and skills of front-line employees serving parkers across North America.

“Qualifying and participating in the Valet Olympics showcases the parking industry’s excellence in valet parking on the national stage,” said Amanda Cuddy, NPA Valet Olympics Committee Chair and human resources at LAZ Ultimate Hospitality. “Teams exemplify collaboration and professionalism while competing against their peers in the valet parking industry.”

The National Valet Olympics also build staff morale and instill the spirit of friendly competition. All teams compete for the Herb Citrin Trophy, named for the late “father of valet parking” and the founder/owner of Valet Parking Service.

The 2015 Valet Olympics are presented by NPA’s Valet Council, the Valet Olympics Committee and NPA’s Convention Program Planning Committee.

Teams will compete in the following events:

Luggage Load: Each valet competitor will exhibit best practices in customer service related to luggage handling.

Key Box Challenge: Each valet competitor will test his or her individual skills in key management.

Valet Relay: Each valet competitor will compete to exhibit best practices in customer service as it relates to retrieving a valet vehicle.

Precision Parking: Each valet competitor will safely maneuver through a slalom, abiding by the speed limit and aiming for the safest and fastest time.
