Passport Transforms University Parking Technology Nationwide
July 21, 2015 – Passport, the industry leader in mobile payments for parking and transit, proudly announces its expansion to numerous university campuses this summer. Earlier this summer, Passport launched on the Auraria Higher Education Center, Weber State University, and University of Central Florida campuses. Ole Miss, University of Nebraska, Oregon State University, Michigan State University, and University of Michigan campuses will be soon to follow. As the leading provider of mobile payments for parking and transit, Passport has also deployed mobile payment services in large cities such as Toronto, Chicago, Boston, and Salt Lake City.
“It’s very exciting to be able to innovate the way students pay for parking on their university’s campus,” said Michael Rafferty, VP of Enterprise Implementations at Passport. “Universities nationwide are embracing mobile payment technology and are seeing the benefits that come along with choosing Passport as their mobile payment provider. We work closely with each university to ensure that the solution we’re launching is the right fit for their parking environment.”
Passport provides students, faculty, and visitors with features meant to make the parking experience easier. For example, users will receive reminder notifications before the end of their parking session, have the ability to extend their parking session (up to the maximum allotted time), and manage all parking history within the app. This all reduces the chances of receiving a parking citation.
The PassportParking app is free to download from the iPhone App Store and Android Google Play. Users can also manage their parking online at http://m.ppprk.com.
