Santa Rosa, CA – An easier way to pay for parking has arrived in the City of Santa Rosa, CA. The City is proud to announce the introduction of Passport, the industry leader in mobile payments for parking and transit, to conduct a pilot project for the City’s on and off-street parking meters on Fourth Street and in Lot 15 and Lot D. Passport has replaced the City’s previous mobile pay provider in order to make parking as convenient as possible while reducing the transaction fee from $0.30 to $0.15. Passport is the leader in premier mobile payment solutions, having deployed mobile payment services in large cities such as Toronto, Chicago, Boston, and Salt Lake City.

“A successful mobile payment program means it is easy for customers to use and makes the parking experience more convenient,” said Simon Kang, Project Manager at Passport. “That is exactly what we’re bringing to the City of Santa Rosa.”

The new Passport pilot program launched earlier this week to the City’s parking spaces on Fourth Street from Railroad Square to E Street as well as the lots located at 210 Fifth Street and 9 Fourth Street. Parkers can look forward to features that will help prevent parking citations, like reminder notifications and a parking session extension option (up to the maximum allotted time).

The PassportParking app is free to download from the iPhone App Store and Android Google Play. Parkers can also utilize the service by going to https://m.ppprk.com and creating an account.
