East Lansing, MI-  Michigan State University has partnered with Charlotte, NC- based Passport to introduce mobile parking payments to metered parking on campus. The mobile app, Spot On, is custom branded and designed specifically for the University’s parking environment. Drivers on campus are now able to pay for parking right from their smartphone without having to walk up to the pay station.

Spot On is available at 736 parking spaces on campus, including Parking Ramp 6, Parking Ramp 5, and Parking Ramp 1. In addition to making parking payments from the app, users can extend their parking remotely (up until the maximum allotted time), receive reminders before their parking session ends, and keep track of all parking history.

“Michigan State University is passionate about their brand, so it is very rewarding for us to create a customized system that they can be proud of,” said Conor Kelly, Vice President of Sales at Passport. “Plus, students won’t have to wait in line at the pay station or worry about swiping a credit card. Everything can be done with a tap on your smartphone.”

The new mobile app is free to download and quick to use. Once parked, signs in the campus lots instruct users how to download the Spot On app in the iPhone App Store or Android Google Play.
