Mobile app allows students, faculty, staff, and visitors to use smartphones to pay for parking

Amherst, MA – December 3, 2015 — Parkmobile, LLC announced today that its mobile payments solution is now available on campus at UMass-Amherst. Students, faculty, staff, and visitors can now pay for parking with their smartphones using Parkmobile’s mobile applications for iPhone, Android, Windows, and Blackberry phones or, for those without smartphones, by calling a toll-free number. The Parkmobile service is being offered at more than 800 spaces around UMass campus.

“UMass Parking Services is excited to partner with Parkmobile to supply a pay-by-cell option for our parking community,” said Jonathan King, Parking Manager for UMass Parking and Transportation Services. “Parkmobile offers our customers a quick and convenient way to pay for hourly parking here at Umass, and Parkmobile’s reputation for exceptional customer service and value made our decision to switch to them an easy one.”

Parkmobile’s mobile payment system is very simple and easy to use. Customers first must register by downloading the mobile app in their phone’s app store or online at www.parkmobile.com. Once registered, they may use the mobile app, internet, or a toll-free number to pay for parking. After setting up their account, customers can immediately start using the system with their registered mobile phone. Mobile app users may also choose to receive alerts and reminders 15 minutes prior to their parking session expiring.

“Parkmobile is thrilled to bring our mobile app to UMass” said Jon Ziglar, CEO of Parkmobile, LLC. “Our service can offer everyone, including students, faculty, and visitors, an easier and more convenient way to pay for their parking that is truly beneficial to them, as well as the campus.”
