Green Bay Pilots Passport App for Easier Parking

City Introduces Passport to Metered Parking Spaces this Summer

June 1, 2016 – The City of Green Bay is launching a new mobile app that will make paying for the meter less frustrating. Green Bay is introducing Passport, the leading mobile pay provider for parking and transportation, as a trial program available at meters on Washington Street and City Hall lot. This will give drivers the option to pay from their phone, avoiding the hassle of carrying around coins to plug the meter.

Passport users can also monitor their remaining time, extend their parking, receive a text notification of meter expiration, and keep track of their parking history.

Passport has launched its mobile solutions in major cities across North America, including Boston, Chicago, Toronto, and Detroit. Drivers enjoy the convenience of making payments from their secure account, which not only makes paying easier, but reduces the chance of receiving a parking ticket.

Chris Pirlot, Director of Operations/Parking Manager, is looking forward to the launch of the pilot program and seeing the results from Passport’s technology, saying, “A successful mobile payment program means prompt, reliable, and error free transactions, with excellent customer service in the event that a parking patron needs assistance.”

“We’re looking forward to introducing our mobile pay solution to Green Bay’s drivers,” said Khristian Gutierrez, Chief Business Development Officer at Passport. “We’re excited to make parking easier for the community and give the City an easier way to operate on a day-to-day basis.”

The PassportParking app is free to download from the iPhone App Store and Android Google Play. Users can also manage their parking online at ppprk.com.
