Cale America Teams Up with Big Brothers Big Sisters in Chicago for Graduation Gala

Graduating Seniors Get Scholarships, and Free Parking!

CHICAGO, Illinois (August 9, 2016) — Finding a parking spot in Chicago is a great feeling, and one that many of us have experienced. For many of Chicago’s underprivileged youth, it is an extraordinary feeling to have the opportunity to attend college – an experience we envision for all children. Cale America, a leading supplier of payment technology for parking and transportation in the Chicago area and throughout the United States, teamed up with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metropolitan Chicago (BBBSMC) last month to help give graduating seniors some well-deserved recognition and some financial help for college too. As a Senior Sponsor of the 4th Annual Graduation Gala event, Cale America provided 15 seniors with $500 scholarships and even validated their parking for the Gala event as well.

“It was amazing to hear the stories about how Big Brother and Big Sister mentors have made such a difference in these kids’ lives. Very inspiring!” said Cale America president, Andreas Jansson, who attended the Gala along with Cale’s corporate controller, Ken Beattie and Chicago technical support manager, Chris Killion. “We are so happy to finally be able to give back to the Chicago community in a way that helps these kids have a chance to be successful.”

Cale has agreed to partner with other Big Brothers Big Sisters affiliates in its home market of Tampa, Florida as well as in Portland, Oregon where Cale parking meter technology is prevalent. “Our mission is to help young people and families in need, and mentoring programs like this gives at-risk kids hope and shows them what is possible,” said Jansson “We are so proud to be able to support such tremendous programs.”

Art Mollenhauer, Chief Executive Officer of BBBSMC, said that Cale’s financial support helped make the event a great success and the scholarships are a very critical success factor for the one hundred graduating matches participating. “When Cale reached out to us, they were so eager to help, especially when they knew the money was going directly to help our graduating high school students go on to college,” Art added. “It’s great when a company like Cale America steps up and helps us make a difference by showing the amazing graduates that they believe in them.”
