Passport launches to add convenience for parkers
Kennett Square, PA – The Borough of Kennett Square will debut a new way to pay for parking. The Borough is partnering with industry leader Passport to add the ability for parkers to pay for metered parking spaces from their phones.
Drivers can download the PassportParking app and securely pay for metered parking using a debit/credit card. The parking app, which is widely available throughout the Northeastern United States, allows customers to monitor their session, extend parking remotely (up to the maximum allotted time), and view all parking history.
The new parking app brings mobile technology to customers as a more convenient option to “feed the meter”. Parkers can manage everything from their phones while also helping avoid parking citations.
“The Borough of Kennett Square is excited to add this innovative technology. The PassportParking app makes it easier for parkers to pay while giving them new features like receiving notifications and being able to extend their parking session. Partnering with Passport was a win-win for the Borough and its drivers,” said Joe Scalise, Borough Manager for Kennett Square.
As a part of the mobile payment for parking program, the app will be available at on and off-street parking locations in the Kennett Square area where signage is displayed. PassportParking signage and decals located on the meters indicate how users can download and get started with the app.
Passport is the leading mobile payment provider for parking and transportation in North America, powering the parking apps for large cities like Boston, Chicago, Toronto, Salt Lake City, and Detroit.
The PassportParking app is free to download from the iPhone App Store and Android Google Play. Users can also manage their parking online at ppprk.com.
