DETROIT, MI, Oct 28, 2016 As part of Wednesday’s announcement by General Motors and IBM to bring the power of OnStar and IBM Watson to create OnStar Go; the auto industry’s first cognitive mobility platform – Parkopedia will become one of the first brands on the cognitive mobility platform providing parking data and payment services on the platform.

Starting in early 2017, OnStar will provide millions of GM drivers the ability to connect and interact with their favourite brands. The platform will deliver personalized content through the dashboard and other digital channels supported by the OnStar Go ecosystem to make the most of time spent in the car.

Combining OnStar’s industry leading vehicle connectivity and data capabilities with IBM Watson APIs will create experiences that allow drivers and passengers to achieve greater levels of efficiency and safety. These experiences will include avoiding traffic when you’re low on fuel, ordering a cup of coffee on the go and finding and booking a parking spot near a restaurant or other venues.

The GM/IBM partnership will expand the existing OnStar AtYourService offers and deals platform, by launching new capabilities supported by OnStar and IBM Watson through OnStar Go. These capabilities will be available in more than two million 4G LTE connected vehicles and millions of GM vehicle brand app-enabled mobile devices in the U.S. by the end of 2017.

“It is a real honour to have been chosen as the provider of parking data and services for this innovative ecosystem. The cognitive mobility platform is an exciting extension of our partnership with OnStar, as it will open a wide range of new opportunities for drivers and parking operators,” commented Eugene Tsyrklevich, Parkopedia’s CEO.
