TIBA Parking will provide parking solutions for the Houston First convention district, helping the city to prepare to host the 2017 Super Bowl in February at the NRG Stadium. Tens of thousands of football fans are expected to arrive in Houston for the Super Bowl with ancillary events at Discovery Green and the GRB Convention Center. TIBA was chosen for its exceptional customer experience, seamless installation and minimal maintenance requirements.
Houston First awarded the project to Parking Guidance Systems to install 61 lanes of TIBA PARCS equipment for the extensive properties of the Houston First Convention District.
Houston First, the sister company that works hand in hand with the city of Houston manages over 10 city-owned buildings, properties and underground and surface parking facilities.
The Houston First convention district encompasses the George R. Brown Convention Center, the 1,200-room Hilton Americas-Houston, which is connected to the convention center via double-deck pedestrian sky bridge, the 12-acre Discovery Green park, and the new Marriott Marquis Houston, also connected to the GRB Convention center.
The Houston First convention district is comprised of 4 parking garages:
- AVN Garage (Marriott), 1846 Spaces
- AVS Garage (Hilton), 1450 Spaces
- AVC Garage (Discovery Green), 667 spaces
- Toyota Tundra Garage (Toyota Center) Spaces 2478
These four garages are used regularly for the following events:
- Houston Rockets Games (Basketball)
- Houston Aeros Games (Hockey)
- Houston Astros Games (Baseball)
- Houston Dynamo Games (Soccer)
- The George R Brown Convention center
- Events at the Discovery Green, Marriott & Hilton
