MIT Brings Latest Parking Payment Technology On Campus with the PayByPhone App
Newly adopted mobile payment service provides drivers with an easier way to pay for parking
CAMBRIDGE, MA (May 10, 2017) – PayByPhone’s mobile parking app has arrived at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), providing students, faculty and staff with an innovative way to pay for parking. PayByPhone will help the campus decrease the costs associated with parking maintenance, while giving convenience to commuters. The service is currently offered at MIT’s 139 Mass Ave lot.
The app consists of several student-friendly features, such as the ability to extend your parking from anywhere, even the classroom. Other features include a countdown timer, and smart reminders that trigger before a parking session expires, reducing the risk of receiving a parking ticket, something any fiscally responsible student can appreciate.
MIT joins over a dozen other universities that have implemented PayByPhone as popularity for the parking app spreads throughout major universities in the U.S.. The app is also available in other areas of Massachusetts, including the Town of Concord and Park Plymouth, and at parking lots along ‘the T’, MBTA’s commuter rail.
