Evanston Revitalizes Parking Payment Program With Park Evanston App

Mobile app, developed by Passport, makes paying for parking quicker and easier

Evanston, IL (November 16, 2017) – The city of Evanston today announced the launch of its new mobile parking application, Park Evanston, to provide a more personalized parking experience to users.  The app was developed by Passport, the global parking technology leader who powers the parking apps for cities across North America.

In addition to paying for parking, users can use the Park Evanston app to:

  • Extend their sessions remotely
  • Keep track of all parking history
  • Receive notifications
  • Get email receipts

The city of Evanston and Passport had previously introduced the PassportParking® mobile payment app, which will continue to be accepted across the same parking spaces as Park Evanston.

“We decided it was important to offer a more personalized experience for parking to Evanston,” said Jill Velan, parking division manager at City of Evanston.  “Passport helped us create the Park Evanston app that exemplifies our city’s unique personality through its own branding.”

“Passport is thrilled to continue to work with Evanston to bring a personalized parking app to all residents and visitors,” said Maxwell Mickey, sales executive at Passport.  “The new application will be branded for Evanston, but will allow much more functionality such as putting vehicle wheel tax payments in app – making it much simpler and quicker for everybody. Passport is excited to grow the platform with Evanston.”

The Park Evanston app is free to download through the App Store and Google Play. Users can also manage their sessions at ParkEvanston.org.
