Portland launches its first mobile parking app, PassportParking®
App can be used in more than 1,600 spaces downtown
Portland, Maine (June 18, 2018) — The City of Portland, Maine, announces the launch of PassportParking®, a mobile parking application that allows drivers to pay for their parking through their smartphones. The app is powered by the global leader of mobile payments for parking and transit, Passport, serving cities and universities throughout North America.
This is the first time Portland will have a mobile parking application provider. Drivers can pay for parking in more than 1,600 metered-spaces with the PassportParking app. In addition to paying for parking, drivers can monitor their parking sessions, view payment history and receive email receipts. Drivers can also extend parking time on the app.
“We wanted to provide a convenient solution to our Portland drivers,” said John Peverada, Portland parking manager. “With the PassportParking app, our drivers can pay for parking from anywhere, when they’re on the go.”
