Charlotte adopts Passport’s parking enforcement solution for city and airport
City of Charlotte and Charlotte Douglas International Airport upgrade to Passport’s real-time, connected platform
Charlotte, N.C. (Dec. 12, 2018) — The City of Charlotte and Charlotte Douglas International Airport have partnered with Passport to launch its enforcement solution to streamline the parking management process. Passport, the global leader in mobility technology, works with nearly 600 clients worldwide to provide technology-driven solutions for mobile payments for parking, digital permits, transit and parking enforcement.
Passport’s platform will help enforcement agents to be more efficient and accurate with access to real-time data. City and airport enforcement agents access Passport’s system on mobile handheld devices that connect with Bluetooth printers. Through the mobile application, agents can monitor parking sessions, upload photos, and issue citations. With real-time data and connectivity, parking administrators can immediately access information through Passport’s back office platform. Parking administrators can also track enforcement agents, analyze parking patterns and pull ticketing reports to optimize routes and increase efficiency across the operations.
“We are thrilled to work with the City of Charlotte and Charlotte Douglas International Airport here in our hometown,” said Kelsey Owens, sales director at Passport. “Our goal is to provide clients with best-in-class technology solutions to make their jobs easier and we’ve already seen increased efficiencies with the implementation of our enforcement platform.”
The City of Charlotte is continuing to work with Passport to introduce a new digital permits solution so drivers can apply, pay for and manage their permits online. Digital permits will tie into the current platform and enforcement agents will be able to easily identify cars who have active permits with license plate recognition. Passport’s system uses cameras that automatically scan license plates and recognize whether a vehicle has an active permit. Citations are issued automatically and mailed to violators, who can pay for their ticket immediately through Passport’s online portal, streamlining the citation process and increasing revenue collection rates.
