HEB again chooses INDECT Parking Guidance System to be installed at their new premium store at Meyerland Plaza, San Antonio, TX.

SAN ANTONIO TX, (September 23, 2019) HEB has again chosen the INDECT parking guidance system to feature at their new premium store at Meyerland Plaza, San Antonio. This will be the fourth installation of an INDECT parking guidance system at HEB stores.

Thanks to the resounding success of the first three INDECT installations at Bellaire, The Heights and Washington Avenue in Houston, Meyerland customers will soon be able to experience hassle-free parking as well as HEB’s popular curbside pickup/delivery program for themselves.

HEB’s curbside pickup/delivery program offers customers the convenience of being able to order their groceries online or by phone and collect them on their way home or at their earliest convenience.

“We’re pleased to be working with HEB again because it’s projects like this that show the versatility of the INDECT system,” said Dale Fowler, President of INDECT USA.

“Most parking guidance systems are limited to the detection and direction of vehicles within a parking garage but an INDECT system can be customized to solve almost any parking problem.” said Fowler.

The HEB curbside pickup/delivery program is a good example of how INDECT can be adapted for non-standard parking applications. In this case, INDECT used their proprietary software to create a simple loading management system that functions seamlessly alongside the INDECT parking guidance system installed in the main garage.

The installation will be managed by parking guidance experts, Parking Guidance Systems (PGS).

“The introduction of INDECT parking guidance to HEB stores has been a great success.” said Derek Frantz, Business Development Manager at PGS. “Traffic now moves freely in and out of the garage and customers are able to collect their groceries without delay.”

According to Frantz, the customer simply drives to the undercover curbside delivery area and parks in the first available space. This triggers the INDECT sensor to change the light above the bay from green to red, while also sounding an alarm in the delivery area.  An HEB employee then personally delivers the groceries and loads them into the vehicle.

“It’s a testament to INDECT’s reliability and performance that our clients keep coming back to us with additional projects.” said Frantz.
