SKIDATA opens new subsidiary in Portugal
Grödig/Salzburg, September 24th. Activities on the Iberian Peninsula will be further strengthened with the opening of an own subsidiary.
SKIDATA AG has been operating in the Portuguese market since 1998 with the support of its previous distribution partner F. L. GASPAR and has successfully implemented numerous projects in the car and people access segment during this period. Among other projects, the soccer club Benfica Lisbon was equipped with extensive access solutions in the stadium as well as in the parking area.
In order to ensure even greater market expanse and presence, SKIDATA has moved to set up its own branch moving forward.
“Market and customer proximity are basic prerequisites for our success in order to better understand needs and requirements and to be able to offer the right all-in-one-solution, including the new digital platforms. The founding of SKIDATA in Portugal and the handover of the employees from our former partner was a logical step,” explains James Toal, SKIDATA Senior Vice President, Europe.
Together with the Spanish subsidiary, projects on the Iberian Peninsula will now be even better networked and synergies are optimally utilized. “One of the advantages for our customers is they can fully rely on an experienced local organization, which is part of the SKIDATA Group in terms of both organization and process technology. This enables us to guarantee the highest possible quality from consulting and solution development through to project implementation and our service and maintenance,” Toal continues.
The founding of SKIDATA Portugal will take effect in September, with Maximino González and Thomas Paulik acting as managing directors. SKIDATA will also receive ten current employees from F. L. GASPAR, who are based in the two offices in Lisbon and Porto.
