KEYTOP rolls out auto parking payment system for car parking
What happened: KEYTOP has launched an automated Parking payment system under WeChat Pay operation for its car parks across China. The system has been implemented in more than 2,000 KEYTOP parking lots nationwide in major shopping malls, railway stations, and airports. The company executive says the system will be expanded to parking sites in schools and popular tourist destinations. Users are required to register their plate numbers and before leaving the carpark, they are encourage to pre-pay the parking fee by their WeChat accounts, Their plates are then scanned at the exit of parking lots and matched with the company’s database of users.
By far there are 8 million more registered user are using this KEYTOP service, have made 200 million more transactions .
Not only cooperate with Wechat Pay, KEYTOP also cooperated with another giant Alibaba, have successfully lanched the Unmannd parking management based on Alipay.
Why it’s important: Alipay and WeChat Pay have already split China’s mobile payments for metro transportation into a duopoly. The next frontier is car parking. In the past, KEYTOP rolled out a shared parking service in China that allows users to find, reserve, and pay for parking via the Wechat Pay and Alipay app.
