Kudos to the Miami Parking Authority and PayByPhone for supporting Miami’s restaurants! Starting Nov 23rd, 2020 through Dec 24th, 2020, through campaign “We are where you dine,” customers may register on the app for the chance to win a $50.00 gift card from a participating Miami restaurant. Ninety PayByPhone customers will be randomly selected over the five-week campaign.

Considering that Los Angeles restaurants are being shut down again even for outdoor dinning, perhaps it is time to fly to Miami.

Flying what our John Van Horn and Marcy Sparrow did last week.  They both ventured to cold Chicago to work on PIE 2021.  John wrote a blog about his trip mentioning how it broke him out of complacency and got his creative juices flowing.  Seeing others in person and allowing one’s facial expressions shine, creates dynamic instead of stagnation. “ I have mentioned before that restricting face to face meetings is anathema to one’s creative juices. This little two day trip made a huge difference in my outlook. The meetings at the hotel were face to face, across a table without masks. We could see the excitement in the facial expressions of our partners in PIE 2021. They told us stories about life in the pandemic and how they were coming out of it.”

Further about flying, this past week, SP Plus Corporation (SP+), announced the addition of Check ‘N Fly™ baggage check-in services exclusively for valet parking customers who are traveling on domestic flights with American Airlines or Delta Air Lines at William P. Hobby Airport (HOU) in Houston, Texas.

In other news, both ParkMobile and Passport, brought their contactless payment option for parking to Google Pay.  “Google Pay users can pay for parking in over 240 ParkMobile cities across the U.S. without needing to download a separate parking app or create an account.”

And “When users download Google Pay on iOS and Android, Passport Parking will be made available through the Google Pay app. This allows users to pay for parking without the need to download the full Passport application.’

Collaborations in parking industry are thriving.  Perfect example is ABM and Smarking; ABM Increases Revenue by 95-250% with Smarking’s Dynamic Pricing Engine

Another collaboration is our own Parking Today and All Traffic Solutions bringing you information with the survey: Parking Industry Insights During COVID-19 and Beyond. “The good news is that we know more about COVID-19 than ever before. There is a better understanding of how the coronavirus is spread and rapid testing is available to slow down the spread of the virus. The more we know, the more comfortable our society becomes and the more comfortable they feel returning back to a sense of normal in terms of their day-to-day activity.”

And since it is Thanksgiving week, we must focus on the good news.  Soon I pray this lockdown and pandemic will be over.  We will all be flying, parking and dinning out.  And next year we will all see you at PIE 2021 in Chicago.

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving everyone.  Thank you for sharing your news with us here at ParkNews.biz and Parking Today.

God bless you and God bless the USA.

Thank you,
