Rabo Transition Fund finances electrification of parking lots
Financing of Collectric as demand for smart charging solutions in the real estate sector increases
The Hague, April 15, 2025 – Collectric, a specialist in the electrification of parking facilities, secures growth financing from the Rabo Transition Fund, a fund of the National Green Fund. This funding enables the company to meet surging demand for electric vehicles (EV) charging solutions at residential and work locations. Collectric will use the financing to realise and manage electric charging solutions for real estate owners, parking operators and real estate managers.
The increasing demand for charging points poses enormous challenges for the real estate sector. For example, in the field of grid congestion and transport capacity, which requires increasingly complex technical solutions. Additionally, legislation and regulations regarding charging infrastructure are constantly changing, such as requirements in the field of price transparency, direct payment and the availability of charging points. Consumers and end users also expect the same ease of use and price level, while the delivery of charging infrastructure is becoming increasingly complex and expensive. As a result, owners and managers of parking lots are increasingly outsourcing EV charging solutions. A professional and specialised provider helps to overcome these challenges.
“A good EV charging facility reflects on the quality of the real estate,” says co-founder Christiaan Storm de Grave. “We notice that real estate owners and asset managers are increasingly paying attention to the footprint of their real estate. A sustainable charging facility has a positive impact on tenants’ CO2 emissions. Parking lots play a crucial role in the transition to electric driving, because EV drivers can charge sustainably and often cheaply there.”
“Collectric offers a scalable and future-proof solution for one of the most urgent infrastructure challenges of our time,” says Ferry Pankras, investment manager at the Rabo Transition Fund. “We are proud that we can support companies like Collectric, who combine infrastructure knowledge with actual impact in the energy transition and that in this way we contribute to reducing the emission of nitrogen dioxide, particulate matter and CO2.” Since its foundation in 2017, Collectric has built a fast-growing customer base of leading real estate owners and parking operators. Thanks to the financing from the Rabo Transition Fund, the company can accelerate its growth and contribute to the transition to electric driving.
About Collectric
The team behind Collectric has a background in energy infrastructure (including Tango) and focuses on the rollout of scalable and affordable EV charging facilities in parking lots. Because EV charging facilities are multidisciplinary and require continuous care, parking lot owners and managers are facing enormous challenges now that Brussels obliges them (EPBD IV) to provide up to 10% of their parking spaces with an EV charging point. Collectric ensures that the required investment is self-sufficient and can take over the entire investment if desired.
