Blink Charging and Veris Residential to Offer Haus25 Residents in New Jersey Access to State-of-the-Art EV Charging Stations

Blink Charging and Veris Residential to Offer Haus25 Residents in New Jersey Access to State-of-the-Art EV Charging Stations

Sustainability-Focused Luxury Apartment Building will be Equipped with 24 EV Charging Ports

Miami Beach, Fla. & Jersey City, N.J., Sept. 12, 2022  — Blink Charging Co. (Nasdaq: BLNK, BLNKW) (“Blink”), a leading owner, operator, and provider of electric vehicle (EV) charging equipment and services, and Veris Residential, Inc., a forward-thinking, environmentally and socially conscious REIT that primarily owns, operates, acquires, and develops Class A multifamily properties, today announced the deployment of 24 of Blink’s EV charging ports at Veris Residential’s newly-built, sustainability-focused, luxury apartment high-rise Haus25, located at 25 Christopher Columbus Drive in Jersey City, NJ.

“Most EV drivers want to be able to charge their EV’s where they live and Veris Residential is helping them do just that,” said Brendan Jones, president at Blink Charging. “We are honored to work with Veris Residential to provide a valuable service to their residents and look forward to our continued relationship with them to bring more EV charging stations to other Veris Residential sites.”

As the only complete, end-to-end global EV charging provider, delivering advanced technology solutions for all EV customers—including consumers, fleets, businesses, retailers, developers, and municipalities—Blink’s unique owner-operator model provides customers and partners with industry-leading charging stations for every location and a 360-degree solution that they can rely on in a rapidly evolving market. By partnering with Blink to provide Haus25 residents with access to EV charging ports, Veris Residential is supporting its mission of being a responsible, sustainable, inclusive, and equitable member of the built environment.

“Veris Residential is thrilled to cooperate with Blink, an innovative provider of fast and effective EV charging solutions, as we continue to redefine environmentally-friendly living,” said Karen Cusmano, Senior Vice President, Head of Sustainability and ESG at Veris Residential. “As the first U.S. real estate company to sign the Climate Group’s EV100 initiative and commit to installing EV charging across our portfolio by 2030, partnering with Blink to bring these stations to Haus25 takes us one step closer to achieving our goal of increasing EV charging capacity for our residents.”

While studies have shown that up to 85% of EV charging happens at home, to date, a limited number of apartments and condominiums have offered such access to their residents. In light of the potential of providing EV charging to the estimated 80 million Americans currently living in multiunit buildings, Blink is seeking to meet a need desired by EV drivers while helping to move the U.S. forward in its decarbonization goals. Specifically, by offering the most flexibility in the industry, Blink’s personalized and strategic business models allow customers to achieve their goals, whether that means owning, partnering with, or hosting their charging infrastructure.

To this end, Blink has installed 12 IQ 200 dual chargers at Haus25, providing 24 charging ports for residents and visitors of the complex. Blink IQ 200, the fastest Level 2 AC charging station available, produces 80 amps of output that provide approximately 65 miles of charge per hour and is compatible with any battery-electric or plug-in hybrid vehicle. When fully implemented at Haus25, the building will deliver yet another best-in-class amenity that meets the environmentally conscious lifestyle preferences for today’s residents, as well as standards required to achieve LEED Silver certification by the U.S. Green Building Council.

Additional sustainable amenities featured at Haus25 include: SOURCE hydropanels, which use solar technology to harness water in the air; WaterSense labeled fixtures, which maximize water flow efficiency; bioretention swales, to collect runoff water and percolate the soil; and energy efficient power units which convert natural gas into electricity and heat while also providing on-site generation. The building is also completely smoke-free, uses enhanced indoor air quality measures, offers more than 37,000 square feet of garden and outdoor spaces and provides residents with access to Logical Buildings’ app that shares real-time energy usage and carbon footprint data to improve efficiency.

INF Associates, a turnkey EVSE installer and energy consultant, worked with Blink and Veris Residential to execute the installation of the IQ 200 chargers—capturing incentives for Veris Residential through PSE&G’s Clean Energy Future – Electric Vehicle (EV) Program and the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities MUD grants—funding that was instrumental in developing an EVSE strategy for Haus25 and its residents.

PayByPhone Announces New Partnership with TransLink Park and Ride Lots Across Metro Vancouver

PayByPhone has partnered with TransLink to offer its mobile parking payment app at 5,500 parking spaces across all nine TransLink Park and Ride lots.

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA  — Vancouver, British Columbia, September 8, 2022 – Commuters in the Metro Vancouver area using the designated lots along the TransLink line servicing buses, the SkyTrain, and the West Coast Express can now pay for their parked vehicles with the universally acclaimed PayByPhone app.

PayByPhone makes the transition to cashless parking payment easy. The app is simple to use, and parking payment transactions can be completed in three quick steps using the following methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Apple Pay, or Google Pay.

Further, drivers can opt to have text messages sent to their mobile phone reminding them of parking expiration. Drivers who prefer not to register for an account can begin a parking session by calling in to pay over the phone or pay with a Guest Account via PayByPhone’s app or website.

“We’re thrilled to be partnering exclusively with TransLink to offer our services here in Vancouver, BC, the home of PayByPhone,” says Carmen Donnell, PayByPhone’s Managing Director, North America. “As more people seek out public transit to commute, the convenience of leaving their vehicles parked in designated Park and Ride lots, with the ability to pay for parking time remotely, encourages transit commuting. PayByPhone has proven its popularity in Vancouver and internationally as a versatile and reputable mobile payment app, designed to simplify the parking journey by removing pain-points typically associated with finding and paying for parking,” concludes Donnell.

“We’re always looking for innovative ways to improve the customer experience and make using transit easier,” says TransLink CEO Kevin Quinn. “We’re pleased to be able to partner with Vancouver-based PayByPhone to provide our customers with more convenient and accessible payment options at our Park and Ride locations.”

Tattile: ANPR-based Tolling System in Republic of Srpska

September 06, 2022

Tattile: ANPR-based Tolling System in Republic of Srpska

The Republic of Srpska, part of Bosnia and Herzegovina, has approximately 100 km of the highway network currently covered by a toll system, including nine toll plazas with about 55 toll lanes. On the highway connecting the cities of Banja Luka and Doboj, the modern toll collection system enables charging all highway users according to their distance travelled and vehicle class.

Exceptions are currently made for vehicles with VIP status, emergency service vehicles and military convoys. Since the operator Autoputevi Republike Srpske still wants to offer a choice in payment, the toll plazas have different lanes providing manual ticket issuing and payment, Electronic Toll Collection (ETC) and a mixed lane offering both options. At the manual entrance lanes, the driver takes the magnetic ticket with encoded and printed data relevant for toll payment in cash or credit card at an exit station of the highway. At the ETC entrance lanes, the vehicles are registered without stopping, and the relevant data are recorded and stored in an onboard unit (OBU) and in the lane and plaza computer database. ETC lanes perform toll payment transactions electronically and optionally in pre-payment or post-payment.

A prerequisite for electronic toll collection is the number plate recognition of all vehicles passing the electronic nonstop lane. For this purpose, Tattile Basic Short-Range cameras are installed on all entrance lanes to capture ANPR data and obtain fast and secure vehicle transits. At the manual lane, the Basic cameras capture the number plate for security reasons.

The Tattile cameras must perform reliably in all weather conditions, even against sun flare, and during day or night. According to Autoputevi Republike Srpske, the Highway network in the Republic of Srpska will be further expanded, and Tattile Basic ANPR cameras will be the preferred technology for the new toll system modernisation projects in the Republic of Srpska.

“ACE is proud to deliver for our customer Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport their first all-electric shuttles which will serve the traveling public of Phoenix with zero emissions moving forward.  Where many companies have been talking and promising an electric future, ACE has been pioneering and actually delivering for our airport customers over the past three years, and will continue to do so for many years to come.” said Steve Burton, President ACE Parking.

“Using AI-driven telematics and safety technology, the Endera shuttle buses being used at Sky Harbor Airport are technologically advanced. We were able to help ACE Parking and Sky Harbor Airport accomplish their sustainability goals and show a compelling reduction in energy and maintenance costs for these vehicles,” said John Walsh, CEO of Endera. “The vehicles and their technology are revolutionizing the way fleets are managed at airports, hospitals, universities, and any other application where high occupancy vehicles are utilized. Our smart technology coupled with the resulting efficiency saves fleet operators precious financial and energy resources.”

Endera’s all-electric buses use a lightweight composite body that maximizes range efficiency achieving up to 130 miles of range on a fully-packed 26 passenger bus with charging capability in as little as two hours and 15 minutes, making it the most efficient shuttle of its size on the market in the US. Additionally, these shuttles feature Endera’s cutting-edge smart technology to automate records and reporting, as well as provide a new dispatching console for their management team to carry out operations.
