AGENDUM DESKFORCE SHORTLISTED FOR EPA AWARD 2017 IN REMOTE IMAGE REVIEW APPLICATION

AGENDUM DESKFORCE SHORTLISTED FOR EPA AWARD 2017 IN REMOTE IMAGE REVIEW APPLICATION

Huge efficiency gain by on-screen checks of parked cars: 80% less on-street checks

ROTTERDAM, 7 March 2017 – The Remote Image Review application that Egis Parking Services (EPS) deploys for on-street paid parking enforcement in Amsterdam has been nominated for the EPA Awards 2017. With this application developed by Agendum, EPS can handle 80% of the scans directly on screen without the need of on-street checks. It saves a substantial amount of time and costs in the enforcement operation.

Increased efficiency
This innovative Agendum solution enables real time remote reviewing of ‘suspect’ parked cars, and considerable increases the efficiency by diminishing the number of required follow-up scooters. The Agendum scan processing platform already dramatically reduces the number of on-street checks by applying intelligent filters before sending data of ‘suspect’ cars to the follow-up agents. But additional efficiency gain is achieved by the DeskForce application. Of the remaining ‘suspects’, only 20% of the ‘suspect’ cars requires an on-street follow-up action.
This method also increases the transparency of the process; inspection can be done in a central control room. The Agendum application allows for visual inspection of the scan information and overview images, thus filtering out the cars that are for instance loading or unloading, or parked illegally, which requires a different follow-up action.

ANPR and platform as starting point
Parking enforcement in Amsterdam is license plate based and performed by ANPR equipped cars and the scan processing platform of Agendum. The platform automatically checks whether a parked car has a parking right. In the past, the system sent a message to the parking attendants on scooter for an on-street check of the parked car. In 30% of the cases, the possible offender has already left at the time the parking agent arrives at the location. With the innovative Agendum DeskForce, a huge increase in efficiency is gained.

About Agendum
Ten years ago, Agendum had a first when implementing digital parking enforcement using a scan vehicle and platform (City of Amsterdam) and has since developed it into the most efficient and effective parking enforcement solution in the market. Agendum builds and connects the systems for all steps in the process: planning, execution, reporting and management. Agendum delivers its solutions and services to e.g. Egis Parking Services (Amsterdam), The Hague, Utrecht, Haarlem, several boroughs in London and Lisbon.

Agendum: SUCCESSFUL PILOT DIGITAL BLUE ZONE ENFORCEMENT

Agendum: SUCCESSFUL PILOT DIGITAL BLUE ZONE ENFORCEMENT

Digital enforcement also the solution for Blue Zones

ROTTERDAM, January 26, 2017 – Paid parking enforcement using a scan car and the scan processing platform of Agendum has been deployed successfully for many years now, but it  can now also be applied for a new purpose: Blue Zone parking enforcement can be done by this method in a very efficient and effective way, according to a pilot in a Belgian municipality.

The enforcement operator wanted to experience through a pilot how digital parking enforcement works in practice and to investigate whether it is a good solution for both paid parking enforcement and Blue Zone enforcement (an area where a vehicle may park for free during a specific period of time). A key objective for the Blue Zone enforcement is to encourage better traffic circulation.

Robert De Beukelaer, Commercial Director at Agendum: “Fair and effective Blue Zone enforcement is a difficult and elaborate task. It requires very intensive checking of parked vehicles. It is virtually impossible to efficiently and effectively check on street manually. Therefore we have developed a solution that enables Blue Zone parking enforcement by using a scan vehicle.” The pilot was done in the first two weeks of January with the Agendum platform and a scan car. Parked vehicles were not only scanned in areas of paid parking but also in Blue Zones. If a vehicle was parked too long in a Blue Zone, an enforcement officer received the scan information and overview images in order to visually check the vehicle on street and to issue a PCN. Additionally, the Agendum reporting tool was used to get clear insight in the results of the enforcement process for further optimisation and better decision making.
Efficient enforcement

Enforcement by using a scan vehicle and platform provides for significant efficiency gains; a scan car produces about 1,000 scans per hour; on foot it is about 70. The enforcement intensity and the risk to get a fine increases greatly when using a scan vehicle. Consequently, the willingness to pay will increase as well. In Amsterdam, Utrecht, Haarlem and The Hague digital enforcement has been deployed successfully for many years now: it makes the process more accountable and transparent and it results in higher revenues and lower costs.
Another important advantage of digital parking enforcement is the massive amount of valuable data that are collected. The Agendum reporting tool translates this data into management information for further process improvement and better decision-making.

FONDATION DES PARKINGS GENEVA STARTS A PILOT IN DIGITAL PARKING ENFORCEMENT

Amsterdam, 5 April 2016 – Following the introduction of digital parking, Fondation des Parkings of Geneva starts this year with a digital parking enforcement pilot.

As of the second quarter 2016, Fondation des Parkings (FDP) will test scan devices such as a scan car and a scan scooter for parking enforcement. With this new way of enforcement, FDP aims at a more transparent, efficient and fair enforcement process.

The number plate scans are processed by the SCANMAN of Agendum, the platform that automatically checks the scans on the presence of a parking right and accuracy. When no parking right is found, the system automatically sends a message to the handheld of the parking attendant (Sigmax) on the street for further review.

The deployment of scanning equipment and the SCANMAN platform has long been successful in cities like Amsterdam, Haarlem and Utrecht. Not only is scanning of number plates and automatic processing and checking of the scans much more efficient than the conventional way of enforcement, it also decreases the number of on street follow up actions.

Part of the pilot will be a thorough evaluation report which will be based upon Agendum’s INFOMAN, a parking data analytics tool for better decision-making. This web application provides information about the efficiency of the enforcement process. It shows whether objectives are met and where further process improvement can be achieved. INFOMAN provides management information and detailed analysis of enforcement data at all times. It provides insight into occupancy rate, pay rate and digitisation rate of parking rights, per area and on street segment level, providing essential input for parking and mobility policy strategies.
“We are proud that after Amsterdam, The Hague and other international municipalities in the UK, Spain and Portugal, have chosen Agendum as their partner in digital parking enforcement, now Fondation des Parkings has also asked Agendum for testing new approaches in parking enforcement,” says Agendum’s Commercial Director Robert De Beukelaer.

AGENDUM ENABLES SUSTAINABLE PARKING

Parking data analytics for better-decision making

Amsterdam, 4 April 2016 – Agendum will use Intertraffic Amsterdam to demonstrate how parking data analytics optimises parking enforcement and provides information for a sustainable parking policy. The company, a forerunner in digital parking enforcement solutions, has taken the enforcement process to a higher level as visitors to their stand will experience when they take a ‘virtual enforcement journey’.

As Agendum will highlight, the scanning of number plates by using mobile ANPR is only the first step in increasing the efficiency of parking enforcement. The company’s fast and smart SCANMAN platform, which has been successfully deployed and piloted in various European cities,  is required in order to gain real efficiency in the whole enforcement process, providing higher revenue at a reduced operational cost. A third step is the new Agendum business intelligence solution INFOMAN, the latest version of which will be unveiled at Intertraffic Amsterdam.

This web based reporting tool gives clear insight into the productivity and outcome of the enforcement process, the extent to which the objectives are being met and how further improvement can be achieved. INFOMAN enables team leaders and management and policy makers to make better decisions, based on extensive and detailed information on performance of the enforcement teams and on parking behaviour.

Agendum will demonstrate how INFOMAN can innovatively process and analyse data gathered from all kinds of parking related input sources, including scan cars, ground sensors and non-invasive sensors. The ‘virtual enforcement journey’ on the company’s stand will illustrate how smart data analysis enables further process improvement.
