UW – Eau Claire Implements AIMS LPR and AMP Park Pay-by-Phone Solution

University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire has leveraged the AIMS system to modernize their parking operation, provide contactless parking options to their campus community and streamline their enforcement tools.    A user of the AIMS system since 2012, UW-Eau Claire transitioned to virtual permitting and LPR enforcement in the 3rd quarter of 2021.

The decision to implement AMP Park in 2020 stemmed in part from COVID’s effects on customers’ parking patterns and needs.   AMP Park integrates with AIMS in real-time and provides parkers with a contactless payment solution and short-term parking options.

In turn, UW-Eau Claire leverages the AIMS LPR solution for real-time enforcement of their entire parking operation including virtual permitting, AMP Park pay-by-plate transactions, vehicle hot lists, and enforcement of shared permits.

One of the many benefits realized by UW-Eau Claire is the ability to use one back-end system to track and view LPR and pay-by-plate data.  According to Allyson Wisniewski, Parking Supervisor at UW-Eau Claire, “We have used AIMS since 2012, transitioned to the LPR system in 2021 and were one of the first AIMS customers along with the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh to implement AMP on our campus.  The customer service from AIMS is hands down the best.   I really like that pay by plate is integrated seamlessly for the user and the backend all within AIMS. “

UW-Eau Claire continues to use the AIMS suite of products to provide their customers with an easy-to-use parking self service portal, backend permit and citation management, and complete reporting on each and every aspect of their parking operation.

AIMS SOLUTION: EDC CORPORATION ANNOUNCES NEW CUSTOMER: CITY OF ST. LOUIS, MO

EDC CORPORATION ANNOUNCES NEW CUSTOMER: CITY OF ST. LOUIS, MO

Syracuse, NY – EDC Corporation, the Syracuse, NY-based developer of the AIMS Parking Management Software solution suite, announced today, announced today that its system was recently chosen by the City of St. Louis, MO (population 3.8 million) after an exhaustive selection process. The AIMS system was successfully deployed in July 2020 – despite the inherent complexities of a system-wide conversion from a previous system andchallenges posed by the coronavirus pandemic.

By adopting the AIMS solution — which includes vehicle-mounted License Plate Readers (LPR) technology and equips the city’s 40 enforcement officers with the AIMS Mobile Enforcement App — St. Louis is already seeing efficiency gains in managing its 300,000 parking tickets per year.

“We’re very proud to partner with the City of St. Louis and support their parking operation,” said EDC vice president Ellen Genung. “Through our real-time, online system – they’re now managing all enforcement, handling all steps of the citation life-cycle (including billing, payments, and appeals), and even seamlessly interfacing with two pay-by-phone vendors.” Genung added the AIMS system has also allowed the city to move customer service activities in-house and provide better service to constituents.

“There are many things I like about AIMS, but two are customization and support,” said Jerry Walker, Director of Information Technology at the city’s Treasurer’s Office. “Any customization needed is created fairly quickly, usually within a couple of days, whereas our past experience was that customization normally takes weeks.

The AIMS team’s support is also great: When you call you speak directly to a developer or engineer, which is unheard of in the parking industry.”

The sentiment is shared by City of St. Louis Treasurer, Tishaura Jones.

“When we started interviewing vendors, I had a long list of standard features that would help the parking division be more customer friendly,” said Jones. “The only vendor that met the challenge, at a super reasonable price, was AIMS. As we began the software transition, I was more impressed at the attention to detail from the staff and the reporting capability. I am eagerly looking forward to analyzing the enforcement and ticketing data and using it to make smarter decisions about division operations.”

EDC CORPORATION LAUNCHES AIMS MobilePay CONSUMER MOBILE PAYMENT APP AS EXTENSTION TO ITS AIMS PARKING MANAGEMENT SOLUTIONS SUITE

EDC CORPORATION LAUNCHES AIMS MobilePay CONSUMER MOBILE PAYMENT APP

AS EXTENSTION TO ITS AIMS PARKING MANAGEMENT SOLUTIONS SUITE

New app offers customers increased convenience – while increasing revenue opportunities and operational efficiencies for municipalities, higher-education, and other customers utilizing AIMS Parking Management platform.

Syracuse, NY – EDC Corporation, the Syracuse, NY-based developer of the AIMS Parking Management suite of parking management solutions, announced today that it has officially launched its consumer-facing AIMS MobilePay app. The smart phone app offers added convenience to consumers while affording new revenue and operational opportunities to the cities, universities, airports, and health care centers utilizing the AIMS parking suite of products.

“Today’s drivers appreciate and increasingly expect their pay-to-park transactions to be facilitated and made more convenient using a smart phone app,” said Ellen Genung, Vice President of EDC Corporation. “After considerable research, development, and a deep dive into the user experiences and pitfalls of other mobile payment apps on the market, AIMS MobilePay – or AMP Park for short – is our thoughtful answer to that need. Not by coincidence, it’s one more in a long line of strategic investments and technology tools we’ve recently introduced to the AIMS Parking Solutions suite, such as LPR, mobile enforcement, and complete e-ticketing.”

Genung added that the AIMS MobilePay app was developed based on extensive customer feedback, thorough interactive design and beta-testing phases – culminating in its launch at the company’s latest annual User Conference, held in Fort Worth, Texas this fall (September 16-18), where the final version of the app was introduced.  “Our clients now have a mobile payment solution that fully integrates with their permit and enforcement management system, consolidating parking capacities, revenue reporting and enforcement data into one comprehensive system.  This is a step beyond simply integrating enforcement with third-party mobile payment apps.”

BENEFITS TO THE CUSTOMER

Compatible with iOS and Android smart phones – and downloaded free of charge from the customer’s app store of choice (Apple App Store or Google Play) – the AMP Park smart phone app establishes a secure and individualized account for your customer, including an encrypted wireless connection to the user’s preferred payment method. Once the app is installed, the AMP Park app:

  • Assists with identifying available parking spaces in your AIMS Parking Management service area
  • Streamlines payments with no need to exit the vehicle, transact with cash or a credit card, or interact with a parking meter, kiosk, or parking attendant;
  • Provides real-time access to the consumer’s AMP Park account via phone or desktop (at aimsmobilepay.com), where the customer can set parking session reminders, review transaction history, update and manage multiple payment methods, and more

BENEFITS TO PARKING MANAGMENT

In addition to providing paid-parking customers added convenience, AIMS MobilePay also benefits entities running on the AIMS Parking Solution platform. Benefits include:

  • Increased revenue — The convenience of AIMS MobilePay’s space locater and payment functions encourages consumers to utilize paid parking.
  • Better use of parking-space inventory — The app’s space locator function also helps parking management better utilize and maximize capacity.
  • An attractive alternative to 3rd party mobile-pay apps — When consumers utilize the AIMS MobilePay service, as opposed to popular consumer parking apps, the operator has the opportunity to capture a greater percentage of the resulting revenues, speed collection of payments, and retain more flexibility and authority to set parking rates.
  • More consumer insight — Because AIMS MobilePay is an extension of – and fully integrated with – the operator’s existing AIMS Parking Management system, its use enables capture and leverage of associated customer data and parking trends such as frequency, seasonality, and more.
  • Improved enforcement – AIMS MobilePay links to the operator’s AIMS Mobile Enforcement device, which in turn allows enforcement staff to view active and expired sessions and issue citations to vehicles without paid parking sessions.
  • Easier customer management — AMP Park links parking sessions to existing customers in your AIMS Parking Management system, providing a complete picture of parking activity including past citations, current permits, and all the pay-by-phone parking sessions on one screen.
  • Improved reporting — One system provides a snapshot of enforcement, permitting, and pay-by-phone sessions – including financials, customer data, location capacities, usage, and more.

Those interested in learning more about the new AIMS MobilePay app from EDC – and the broader AIMS Parking Solutions suite supporting the app — are encouraged to visit the company’s website and/or schedule a live demo.

Auburn University joins the AIMS family of users

Auburn University recently implemented the AIMS Parking Management System to support their Parking Services department going into the Fall Semester.  Auburn uses AIMS to manage the online sales of their various permits and all other aspects of their permit management.  AIMS provides real-time integration with their 2 mobile LPR vehicles to support their virtual permits and eCitation enforcement. Auburn will soon be adding a third LPR vehicle and also equipping 2 parking structures with fixed LPR cameras.

From the University…

“Auburn University is very pleased with our transition to AIMS.  We were searching for a vendor that could provide us with a robust communications, reporting and financial system while also allowing us to continue our paperless enforcement and permitting.  AIMS not only delivered the system we were looking for, but they also provided us with exemplary customer support and service.  The support staff is very knowledgeable and responsive and always available via email or over the phone whenever we need them.”

“Our office staff was nervous about learning a new system, but that nervousness was quickly eased when they realized how easy-to-use and functional the system is.  We have convenient access to the information we need in order to better serve our faculty/staff and students.  AIMS provided us with a system that works consistently and effectively and that’s exactly what we were in search of.”

Bluefin and EDC Corporation Partner for PCI-Validated P2PE Integration into EDC’s AIMS Parking Management System

Bluefin and EDC Corporation Partner for PCI-Validated P2PE Integration into EDC’s AIMS Parking Management System

Through the partnership, ticketing operations on the AIMS Parking Management System will have access to Bluefin’s PCI P2PE solution to secure credit card transactions

January 31, 2018 – Atlanta, GA and Syracuse, NY – Leading payment security provider Bluefin Payment Systems has announced a new partnership with EDC Corporation to provide Bluefin’s PCI-validated Point-to-Point Encryption (P2PE) solution to municipalities, higher education, airports and hospitals utilizing the company’s AIMS Parking Management Software platform.

EDC Corporation develops and supports software for the parking industry, specializing in citation, permit, and event management along with mobile and license plate recognition (LPR) enforcement. The company’s flagship product, the AIMS Parking Management Software platform, is a comprehensive management system in one package, used by universities, municipalities, airports, hospitals and private operators.

Through the partnership with Bluefin, EDC Corporation will provide their clients with Bluefin’s PCI-validated P2PE solution directly through the AIMS Parking Management System, enhancing security and reducing PCI scope with no change to the payment transaction flow. Bluefin enables PCI-validated P2PE on partner platforms with their Decryptx® Decryption as a Service (DaaS) product, which allows gateways, applications, and processors to directly connect to Bluefin for the P2PE service.

“Parking offices have long required a front-end solution to make their over-the-counter card transactions and PCI audits simple. Connecting AIMS to Bluefin’s P2PE solution was the answer to the question everyone has been asking – ‘How can we serve our customers’ needs and simplify our PCI audits without using two separate systems for card present transactions?,’” said Ellen Genung, Vice President, EDC Corporation. “Through this partnership with Bluefin, AIMS payment transactions and refunds are secure and seamless. P2PE card transactions facilitated directly through AIMS translates to one system for card transaction processing, refunding, reporting and reconciliation. This is important to our clients and furthers our commitment to satisfying their needs. We are proud to partner with Bluefin in this endeavor.”

Bluefin’s PCI-validated P2PE solution secures credit and debit card transactions by encrypting all data within a PCI-approved point of entry device, preventing clear-text cardholder data from being available in the device or the merchant’s system where it could be exposed to malware. Data decryption is only done offsite in a Bluefin hardware security module (HSM).

“EDC Corporation is an esteemed leader in parking enforcement and permitting management for major organizations in industries such as education, hospitals, municipalities and airports. And while you don’t typically think of hackers targeting ticketing management operations, we can tell you that fraudsters don’t discriminate. They go after the least path of resistance to find clear-text credit card information,” said Greg Cornwell, Head of Global Sales for Bluefin. “We applaud EDC for recognizing the value of security technologies such as PCI-validated P2PE in protecting their clients’ transactions, and we look forward to rolling out this solution to their customer base.”

Benefits of a PCI-validated P2PE solution for organizations and enterprises include reduced PCI compliance and scope, saving time and money on annual audits, and the assurance that the technology has been vetted and approved by the PCI Security Standards Council (SSC).

Bluefin will hold two webinars on the benefits of PCI-validated P2PE on February 13th at 2 pm EST and February 15th at 11 am EST. You can register for the webinars here.

City of Boise adds Overtime LPR to their AIMS system.

City of Boise adds Overtime LPR to their AIMS system

City of Boise has many timed zones within the downtown area and needed an accurate and precise means to find overtime violators. Certified EDC technicians installed the Genetec AutoVu Overtime kit with the mobile LPR system.

AutoVu is fully integrated with the AIMS system for managing vehicle timing information and enforcing hot list and abandoned vehicle searches.

Violators are cited using the Mobile Ticketer app which displays enforcement photos in real time along with location and timing data. The overtime kit includes additional wheel imaging cameras. These photos provide proof the vehicle has not moved since the first timing photos were taken.
