Patel, Bhatt join together to speak at IPI Conference in June

Charlotte, N.C. (May23, 2018) —Passport announced today that it has partnered with Amazon’s leader in Smart Cities, Hardik Bhatt, to speak about how to demystify smart cities at this year’s IPI Conference in Orlando, Fla. The speaking engagement is the first of its kind in the industry, where Passport and Amazon will answer the question of what it truly means to be a smart city. The talk, which is titled “Demystifying Smart Cities: How to architect the cities of tomorrow” will take place from 4:15-5 p.m., Tuesday, June 5.

“Technology is evolving at lightning speed but cities’ physical infrastructure and systems have not necessarily caught up, therefore putting an immense amount of pressure on city leaders to find solutions for increased congestion and other challenges,” said Devin Patel, VP of business development from Passport. “As new services such as Uber or Lyft have been introduced, there is an increasing demand for integrating them with cities’ transportation and curb-management initiatives.”

Passport recently announced a partnershipwith the Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS) light rail and Lyft to offer a first mile/last mile solution to the city’s commuters. The program improves the transit agency’s connectivity to its customers in an innovative and cost effective way by enabling CATS to expend funds for trips only when demand is needed versus running a costly route all day with multiple buses.

“There is an unprecedented shift happening in how cities operate as our world is driven by real-time demand,” said Hardik Bhatt, Amazon Web Services’ Smart Cities and Mobility leader. “However, even some of the largest cities in the world have yet to figure out how to keep up with this change and how to become smarter, more connected cities.”

Seating in this speaking session will be limited so IPI attendees are encouraged to arrive early and add this session to their schedule. More information on this session can be found at http://ipiconference.parking.org/2018/learning_labs.cfm.

Libelium IoT Ecosystem Grows with Amazon and Six New Cloud Partners

Seven companies -including Amazon Web Services (AWS)- join Libelium ecosystem while The IoT Marketplace adds ten new ready-to-be-deployed kits for smart cities, water management, smart buildings and environmental solutions.

San José (California), Zaragoza (Spain), 21 June 2016

Today, at Sensors Expo, Libelium has announced new integration agreements with software partners and new kits for The IoT Marketplace. The company keeps on expanding interoperability of Meshlium IoT gateway and facilitating the access to end solutions in the IoT.

“Our Waspmote IoT ecosystem is designed for interoperability, giving developers access to the widest range of sensors, communication protocols and cloud systems to build IoT applications quickly and safely”, said Alicia Asín, CEO at Libelium.

More Cloud integration options

Libelium’s new Cloud partners include seven worldwide software providers: Amazon Web Services (AWS), Amplía, Eagle.io, Extunda, IoT-Ticket.com, Simfony and Smart City Platform. They join the existing 15 cloud partners ecosystem like Azure by Microsoft, Esri, IBM Bluemix, Indra, Telefonica or Thingworx. The cloud integrations in the Meshlium IoT gateway allow easy configuration of solutions without further integration and reducing time-to-market for IoT and Smart Cities solutions.

These software providers allow developing applications for IoT projects and create analytic or data reports. Existing Meshlium customers can access this new group of Cloud platforms by upgrading their Meshlium software.

New kits for The IoT Marketplace with Cloud partners

Following up with the integration of new Cloud platforms to deliver fully integrated IoT solutions, T he IoT Marketplace -launched by Libelium on March 2016- will add new kits featuring solutions in Smart Cities, water management, smart buildings and environmental control. These kits work out of the box and offer complete solutions from sensors to Cloud to speed up IoT adoption.

AWS, C2M, Devicelynk, Devicify, IoT Ticket, Loriot, Nexmachina, Reekoh, Sentilo and SensorInsight are the new ten partners joining The IoT Marketplace.

Libelium will exhibit these new solutions in Sensors Expo & Conference between June 22 and 23. Ana Sancho, KAM for Agriculture will give a speech about “Precision Farming” on June 22.
