Beam Global Adds Oil and Gas Multinational to Its Customer List

SAN DIEGO — Beam Global, (Nasdaq: BEEM, BEEMW), the leading provider of innovative sustainable products and technologies for electric vehicle (EV) charging, energy storage, energy security and outdoor media, announced that a global top 40 company in the oil and gas industry has begun using the company’s EV ARC™ system to provide workplace charging.

EV ARC™ systems fit in a standard parking space, without reducing available parking, and are equipped with factory installed, ready to charge EV charging stations. Each EV ARC™ system generates and stores its own clean electricity and delivers that electricity to power EVs, day or night, and during inclement weather and power outages. The transportable but permanent systems include an optional Emergency Power Panel for first responder use during blackouts or in locations where there is no utility connection available.

“Oil and gas companies are increasingly becoming broader energy companies as they look to a future beyond using oil as a transportation fuel,” said Beam Global CEO Desmond Wheatley. “That transition is happening faster than many initially anticipated so rapid deployment is a driving force for many of our customers in both the private and public sectors. As more organizations experience the extended times, unpredictable costs and operational disruptions associated with in-ground chargers, they increasingly realize the value of simple, rapid deployment of EV ARC systems. We view the oil and gas sector as a very important growth opportunity and we are delighted to welcome this new and very large player to our growing family of happy customers.”

Requiring no connection to the utility grid, Beam Global products eliminate disruptive construction projects, costly electric circuit upgrades and utility charges to deliver significant long-term savings to customer budgets. They are ideal for locations where there may be hazardous materials below the ground making trenching and foundation work highly risk prone. Because there is no grid connection, EV charging systems are rapidly deployed, readily relocated and can be placed in locations where they are needed most.

The Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) provides nearly $370 billion in climate change investments to help reduce carbon emissions by 40 percent by 2030. It provides significant tax breaks for businesses that purchase new or used medium and heavy-duty electric vehicles and new EV chargers. This includes an Alternative Fuel Vehicle Refueling Property Credit for 30% of total costs of purchase and installation of charging equipment, up to $100,000 per charger.

Beam Global and Volvo CE Announce Partnership to Offer Off-Grid EV Charging Systems with Volvo Electric Construction Equipment

245 Volvo CE Dealer locations in North America can now bundle EV ARC™ transportable charging systems with Volvo compact electric construction machines through the Extended Offer Program

SAN DIEGO, July 26, 2022  — Beam Global, (Nasdaq: BEEM, BEEMW), the leading provider of innovative sustainable products and technologies for electric vehicle (EV) charging, energy storage, energy security and outdoor media, announced a partnership with Volvo Construction Equipment (Volvo CE) that allows Volvo CE’s 245 North American dealer locations to bundle Beam EV ARC™ off-grid charging systems with a purchase of Volvo electric equipment. This joint offering enables construction sites to rapidly deploy EV charging, without the requirement for electrical work, utility grid connections or fossil fuel generators, to power zero-emissions construction equipment that runs on the sun and does not generate a utility bill.

“The construction industry has the opportunity to future-proof its business against noise, carbon emissions regulations and volatile fossil fuel costs by adopting electric machines,” said Beam Global CEO Desmond Wheatley. “By providing our sustainable EV charging systems alongside Volvo’s best-in-class electric machines, we are enabling that transition in the fastest, cleanest and most scalable manner available. We’re proud to partner with Volvo CE in electrifying the construction business.”

Volvo CE currently offers five models of electric machines in North America, the L20 and L25 Electric wheel loaders, and the EC18, ECR18 and ECR25 Electric excavators. Now Volvo dealers can bundle transportable, off-grid solar EV charging systems with electric machine orders. Together, the EV ARC™ and Volvo electric machines produce zero emissions, significantly reduce noise levels and lower energy costs, making them ideal for construction sites where emissions regulations, noise ordinances or the risks of indoor air pollution limit the use of diesel generators and construction equipment.

“The Volvo CE line of zero-emissions construction equipment can now be charged with a zero-emissions energy source provided by the EV ARC. Beam Global shares our vision to electrify mobility worldwide, a critical step towards mitigating climate change and reducing noise and air pollution,” said Ray Gallant, VP Product Management and Productivity at Volvo CE. “The construction industry is ready for an energy transition that reduces emissions and improves machinery’s performance, longevity and usability. We’re committed to an electric future and view Beam Global as a strategic partner on this journey.”

Beam Global’s EV ARC™, the fastest deployed and lowest-cost EV charging system on the market, is the ideal solution for Volvo CE’s electric machines. Compact and easily transportable, the EV ARC™ system can be set up and ready to use in minutes. The EV ARC™ is fully autonomous, meaning it generates, stores and delivers electricity independent of the grid. Whether the project is in a remote nature preserve or a densely populated city with strict zoning rules, the solar-powered EV ARC™ can be deployed without any electrical work or permitting.

The offer is available through the Volvo dealer network, an already trusted partner, giving partners an established convenient single point of contact for purchase. Because the EV ARC™ is part of the Extended Offer Catalog, Volvo Financial Services can be utilized to lease or finance the bundled EV ARC™ and compact electric machines with flexible financing options.

McKinsey & Company estimates that construction is an $11 trillion industry that accounts for 13% of global GDP. The global construction equipment market is projected to grow from $142 billion in 2021 to $224 billion in 2028 according to Fortune Business Insights. The United Nations Environment Programme finds that the buildings and construction industry accounted for 38% of global carbon emissions in 2019. With many governments aiming to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050, electric machinery will become essential. Residential and commercial builders and equipment rental companies are likely to add electric vehicles to their fleets. Federal agencies such as the U.S. Department of the Interior and the U.S. Department of Agriculture already use electric machines in remote, environmentally sensitive areas.

This is the premier contract in the state for police, fire, municipalities and universities.

Beam was awarded the contract after qualification through a bidding process and review by the FSA and the FSA Fleet Advisory Committee. FSA contract prices are extended and guaranteed to any local government or political subdivision of the state, public educational institutions and other public agencies or authorities within the State of Florida. The EV ARC™ system continues to provide EV charging and emergency power during blackouts and is flood proof to 9.5 feet; factors which are particularly important in Florida and other locations which are at risk from rising sea levels and other flooding risks.

“We are seeing increased interest from states to provide EV charging infrastructure to government agencies, businesses, residents, employees and visitors and it makes perfect sense for the Sunshine State to drive on sunshine,” said Beam Global CEO, Desmond Wheatley. “To keep up with increased state requirements, rapid and scalable deployment is crucial. The EV ARC™ is the only rapidly deployed, sustainable EV charging solution on the market that is off-grid, transportable and can be deployed in minutes instead of months. It requires no permitting, no electrical work, no construction and generates no utility bill. Florida can now buy the EV ARC with pre-negotiated pricing, which will make the procurement process much easier.”

As of June 2020, Florida is No. 2 in the nation in passenger EV sales with roughly 64,500 EVs on Florida’s roads. With the signing of the  into law, the Florida Legislature and Governor DeSantis took the first step in activating state and utility engagement. The state law tasks the Public Service Commission (PSC), Department of Transportation (DOT), and the state energy office to lead the creation of an EV master plan. This state-level planning process places Florida in an elite class of states thinking strategically about the future of mobility.

President Joe Biden has announced a plan that represents the most ambitious clean energy vision by any U.S. president in history with billions planned for EV charging infrastructure and $4 trillion sought for green jobs and infrastructure spending.
