BEMROSEBOOTH ANNOUNCES STRATEGIC PROMOTION TO SUPPORT GLOBAL GROWTH

BemroseBooth Paragon, the car parking and transport ticketing specialist based in Hull, has announced that Ryan Mellors, who has been with the business for more than 7 years, has been promoted to Vice President of Global Sales – Parking.

Following significant growth in North America, South America and Canada, Ryan will make these territories a focus, extending current client requirements while also targeting new business opportunities. In addition, he will play more of an active role in managing global exhibitions, particularly in the USA where the BBP brand is attracting a lot of attention.

Working from Sales Manager to his current position, Ryan is now a specialist in car parking and associated advertising. Although he has always assisted with international markets, his new role sends out a very clear message to the marketplace; BemroseBooth Paragon is the leading global supplier of tickets for carparking, bus and rail.

Ryan comments: “Every day is different when you work in ticketing. It’s a very competitive market and you need to be on the ball if you want to succeed. BBP is thriving and I am so proud to be a part of that and to have taken the next step in my career. I am really looking forward to working more closely with the international sales team and to reach our objective to double revenue in America, before we move on to the rest of the world!”

Sales and Marketing Director for BemroseBooth Paragon, Richard Farmer comments: “Recent years have seen us secure a strong foothold within the North American parking ticket market. We’ve worked hard and that commitment is now paying off. Ryan is an excellent example of the talent we have in our team and I’m looking forward to working more closely with him as we take our export business to the next level.”

BemroseBooth Paragon has supplied magnetic tickets for car parking and global rail services for more than 100 years. Responsible for the manufacture of hundreds of millions of tickets, which are distributed to customers daily, the company is now the worldwide leader in the market.

Its products are designed and manufactured in-house and BemroseBooth Paragon is one of the only organisations in Europe that produces magnetic ink on site. Using the Knowledge Transfer Partnership offered by the University of Hull, and investing a combined sum of more than £300,000, the business appointed a full-time Chemistry masters graduate to implement a specialist division which has delivered efficiencies across the production process.

PERFECT TEN FOR BEMROSEBOOTH PARAGON

BemroseBooth Paragon (BBP), the leading mass transit ticketing specialist based in Hull, has appointed ten new operators to work at its manufacturing facility, taking the total workforce to over a hundred for the first time in its history.

The new operators have been appointed following a training programme that has equipped them with the skills required to work on the presses which are used to produce more than a billion magnetic tickets each year for customers across the globe.

As well as increasing capacity, the appointments allow the company to pursue larger contracts, while also investing time and resource into research and development, something the business has placed great focus on in recent years.

General Manager of BBP, Paul McEnaney comments: “We are very pleased to welcome the ten new production colleagues to our business. This further reinforces our growth and the need to increase our capacity. We are the leading global manufacturer of magnetic tickets in Europe and this added resource means that we are able to push forward with our strategic plans, including further emphasis on research and development.”

The BBP manufacturing facility in Hull is complemented by BBP tech, the Boston based division which specialises in RFID and contactless applications across a range of sectors. With leading industry experts covering both magnetic ticketing, smart applications and RFID the business can work with customers to transition from paper based tickets to cards and contactless solutions.

BEMROSEBOOTH PARAGON SHORTLISTED FOR AWARDS SUCCESS

BemroseBooth Paragon (BBP), Europe’s leading supplier of magnetic, paper and smart tickets, is celebrating after fending off hundreds of nominees to be shortlisted as a finalist in not one but two prestigious awards.

Featuring in the innovation and international business of the year of the Yorkshire Business Masters Awards, BBP was one of just 37 nominees to make it through to the final stages of the judging process, which celebrated excellence, entrepreneurship, growth and enterprise.

Separately, BBP has also been named a finalist in the Insider Made in Yorkshire awards in two categories: technology and manufacturer under £25m.

The business, which has sites in Hull and Boston, has been recognised for its ability to adapt to a changing industry and extend its product portfolio to create a sustainable future for the business.

To meet with customer demands, BBP has developed a technology centre dedicated to supplying RFID and smart based products. In addition, the business has also invested heavily in its product portfolio by working with Hull University Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) to create a division focusing on the manufacture of magnetic tickets.

As a result, Chemistry graduate, Haydn Ward, was appointed at BPP and worked on a project seeing him reformulate and refine the technology required for the business to become one of the only manufacturers of magnetic ink in Europe.

General Manager of BBP  comments: “We are extremely pleased to be one of the few businesses shortlisted in both the Yorkshire Business Masters and Made in Yorkshire Awards. This achievement reinforces our commitment to continual improvement and to the quality of the products we produce and the service that we deliver.

“It is also testament to our investment and shared belief in the business that has driven BBP forward and allowed us to evolve and retain our position as a market leader. Without such commitment and our dedicated team, we would not be the business that we are today. We would like to thank all our staff for their contribution in helping us achieve this accreditation.”

The winners of the Made in Yorkshire Awards will be announced on Thursday 20th April at a ceremony taking place at the Royal Armouries in Leeds.

BBP is a trading division of Paragon, which over the last 12 months has produced over a billion magnetic tickets to support the UK rail network alone.
