Blink Charging and Veris Residential to Offer Haus25 Residents in New Jersey Access to State-of-the-Art EV Charging Stations

Sustainability-Focused Luxury Apartment Building will be Equipped with 24 EV Charging Ports

Miami Beach, Fla. & Jersey City, N.J., Sept. 12, 2022  — Blink Charging Co. (Nasdaq: BLNK, BLNKW) (“Blink”), a leading owner, operator, and provider of electric vehicle (EV) charging equipment and services, and Veris Residential, Inc., a forward-thinking, environmentally and socially conscious REIT that primarily owns, operates, acquires, and develops Class A multifamily properties, today announced the deployment of 24 of Blink’s EV charging ports at Veris Residential’s newly-built, sustainability-focused, luxury apartment high-rise Haus25, located at 25 Christopher Columbus Drive in Jersey City, NJ.

“Most EV drivers want to be able to charge their EV’s where they live and Veris Residential is helping them do just that,” said Brendan Jones, president at Blink Charging. “We are honored to work with Veris Residential to provide a valuable service to their residents and look forward to our continued relationship with them to bring more EV charging stations to other Veris Residential sites.”

As the only complete, end-to-end global EV charging provider, delivering advanced technology solutions for all EV customers—including consumers, fleets, businesses, retailers, developers, and municipalities—Blink’s unique owner-operator model provides customers and partners with industry-leading charging stations for every location and a 360-degree solution that they can rely on in a rapidly evolving market. By partnering with Blink to provide Haus25 residents with access to EV charging ports, Veris Residential is supporting its mission of being a responsible, sustainable, inclusive, and equitable member of the built environment.

“Veris Residential is thrilled to cooperate with Blink, an innovative provider of fast and effective EV charging solutions, as we continue to redefine environmentally-friendly living,” said Karen Cusmano, Senior Vice President, Head of Sustainability and ESG at Veris Residential. “As the first U.S. real estate company to sign the Climate Group’s EV100 initiative and commit to installing EV charging across our portfolio by 2030, partnering with Blink to bring these stations to Haus25 takes us one step closer to achieving our goal of increasing EV charging capacity for our residents.”

While studies have shown that up to 85% of EV charging happens at home, to date, a limited number of apartments and condominiums have offered such access to their residents. In light of the potential of providing EV charging to the estimated 80 million Americans currently living in multiunit buildings, Blink is seeking to meet a need desired by EV drivers while helping to move the U.S. forward in its decarbonization goals. Specifically, by offering the most flexibility in the industry, Blink’s personalized and strategic business models allow customers to achieve their goals, whether that means owning, partnering with, or hosting their charging infrastructure.

To this end, Blink has installed 12 IQ 200 dual chargers at Haus25, providing 24 charging ports for residents and visitors of the complex. Blink IQ 200, the fastest Level 2 AC charging station available, produces 80 amps of output that provide approximately 65 miles of charge per hour and is compatible with any battery-electric or plug-in hybrid vehicle. When fully implemented at Haus25, the building will deliver yet another best-in-class amenity that meets the environmentally conscious lifestyle preferences for today’s residents, as well as standards required to achieve LEED Silver certification by the U.S. Green Building Council.

Additional sustainable amenities featured at Haus25 include: SOURCE hydropanels, which use solar technology to harness water in the air; WaterSense labeled fixtures, which maximize water flow efficiency; bioretention swales, to collect runoff water and percolate the soil; and energy efficient power units which convert natural gas into electricity and heat while also providing on-site generation. The building is also completely smoke-free, uses enhanced indoor air quality measures, offers more than 37,000 square feet of garden and outdoor spaces and provides residents with access to Logical Buildings’ app that shares real-time energy usage and carbon footprint data to improve efficiency.

INF Associates, a turnkey EVSE installer and energy consultant, worked with Blink and Veris Residential to execute the installation of the IQ 200 chargers—capturing incentives for Veris Residential through PSE&G’s Clean Energy Future – Electric Vehicle (EV) Program and the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities MUD grants—funding that was instrumental in developing an EVSE strategy for Haus25 and its residents.

Blink Charging Provides the City of Chula Vista, CA with Fast Public EV Chargers

August 19, 2022

Blink Charging Provides the City of Chula Vista, CA with Fast Public EV Chargers

31 IQ 200 EV chargers will be installed in 5 city locations, providing greater access and reliability for residents and visitors

Miami Beach, FL, Aug. 19, 2022  — Blink Charging Co. (Nasdaq: BLNK, BLNKW) (“Blink”), a leading owner, operator, and provider of electric vehicle (EV) charging equipment and services, announced that an agreement has been signed with the City of Chula Vista, California to install 31 Blink IQ 200 fast Level 2 charging stations in various locations within the city. The five-year agreement with automatic renewals reaffirm the city’s and Blink’s commitment to providing accessible, reliable, and fast EV charging infrastructure throughout the community. Blink will own and operate the EV chargers.

Chula Vista was an early adopter of EV charging technologies first deploying Blink EV chargers in 2012. As the city’s electric vehicle use expands, Blink continues to make servicing their existing EV chargers and bringing more chargers online, a priority as they prepare for what is expected to be ongoing widespread EV adoption by residents and visitors.

“Providing EV charging for Chula Vista is a key step to support Chula Vista’s climate action goals to increase the adoption of alternative fuel vehicles,” said Chula Vista’s Environmental Sustainability Manager Coleen Wisniewski. “Ensuring existing EV chargers can properly operate is essential to our region and to reaching our local and state goals.”

The EV charging infrastructure also supports the goals of the state of California to get 5 million zero-emission vehicles on the road by 2030. The California Governor’s recent executive order directs the state to require that, by 2035, all new cars and passenger trucks sold in California be zero-emission vehicles.

“We are delighted that Chula Vista continues to be forward leaning when it comes to the future of transportation. California has been a leader in the adoption of electric vehicles and through this upgrade agreement, Chula Vista carries that forward regarding infrastructure development. With the new Blink IQ 200s, Chula Vista residents can have confidence that their city’s charging infrastructure is well positioned to meet their charging needs today and to serve the EVs of tomorrow,” commented Brendan Jones, President of Blink Charging.

Blink’s IQ 200 units are among the fastest level 2 AC charging stations available on the market, with a maximum output of 80 amps. The Blink IQ 200 chargers have been well received by leading EV industry experts.

Blink Charging Announces the Transformative Acquisition of EV Charging Leader SemaConnect, Further Expanding Its Network and Capabilities

June 15, 2022

Blink Charging Announces the Transformative Acquisition of EV Charging Leader SemaConnect, Further Expanding Its Network and Capabilities

  • Acquisition further solidifies Blink’s leadership position through complete vertical integration of supply-chain, engineering, and in-house manufacturing capabilities of more than 10,000 EV chargers today and scaling to 50,000 per year
  • In-house manufacturing and US-based assembly brings Blink in compliance with the Biden Administration Buy American initiatives

Miami Beach, FL  Blink Charging Co. (Nasdaq: BLNK, BLNKW) (“Blink” or the “Company”), a leading owner, operator, and provider of electric vehicle (EV) charging equipment and services, today announced the signing of a definitive agreement to acquire SemaConnect, Inc., a leading provider of EV charging infrastructure solutions in North America, for $200 million subject to certain customary adjustments for working capital. The cash and common stock transaction will add nearly 13,000 EV chargers to Blink’s existing footprint, an additional 3,800 site host locations, and more than 150,000 registered EV driver members.

With this acquisition, Blink Charging will be the only EV charging company to offer complete vertical integration from research & development and manufacturing to EV charger ownership and operations. This vertical integration creates unparalleled opportunities for Blink to control its supply chain and accelerate its go-to-market speed while reducing operating costs.

Blink will benefit from SemaConnect’s in-house research & development, hardware design, and manufacturing capabilities. SemaConnect’s manufacturing facility in Maryland will allow Blink to comply with the Buy American mandates and to position itself to significantly capitalize on the $7.5 billion Biden Administration EV infrastructure bill and assist with the Administration’s goal to build out the first-ever national network of 500,000 electric vehicle chargers along America’s highways and in communities. The acquisition will also position Blink to assist the administration’s development of a national EV charging network that provides interoperability among different charging companies, and is user-friendly, reliable, and accessible to all Americans.

“This is a transformative acquisition for the EV charging industry and for Blink. SemaConnect is an established and well-known EV charging company with a proven track record of success, strong relationships with its site host partners in both the public and private sectors, and best-in-class technical capabilities,” said Michael D. Farkas, Founder and CEO of Blink Charging.

“SemaConnect has a robust hardware product line-up which complements Blink’s extensive software product offerings. This includes our multi-language and multi-currency network, allowing Blink to have an EV charging station for any location across more than 20 countries and expanding,” said Farkas. “In addition, we are particularly excited about the DCFC charger being developed by SemaConnect. These efforts allow Blink to significantly accelerate our DCFC speed to market while drastically reducing our R&D costs,” said Mr. Farkas.

Blink intends to transition SemaConnect’s chargers to a single state-of-the-art network developed by a joint engineering team, which nearly doubles with this acquisition. The addition of the SemaConnect hardware will accelerate Blink’s expansion across multiple municipalities and geographies, including California where SemaConnect chargers already comply with local requirements for swipe credit card functionality.

Founded in 2008, SemaConnect is a market leader with a diverse suite of products, including Level 2 and DC Fast chargers, and charging-as-a-service program which provides a full package of EV charging solutions. SemaConnect’s hardware and software solutions reach a wide range of critical EV charging customers across municipal, parking, multifamily, hotel, office, retail and commercial in the U.S. and Canada. Major customers include CBRE, JLL, Hines, Greystar, AvalonBay Communities, Cisco Systems, General Electric, among others.

Mahi Reddy, Founder and CEO of SemaConnect, said:  “Like Blink, SemaConnect has been a leader in the EV charging industry since its early days, and the combination of our expertise will enable us to scale the deployment of EV infrastructure even more quickly and efficiently. We are excited to join Blink as we charge ahead in transforming the EV charging industry with flexible, reliable, and innovative solutions for customers around the globe.”

“With complementary values, business models, and equipment, SemaConnect was an ideal acquisition target for Blink. This acquisition brings to Blink top talent from the industry. By adding the SemaConnect team to its ranks, Blink is building an industry leading EV charging company. We welcome the SemaConnect team to the Blink family,” said Mr. Farkas.

“With this acquisition and Blink’s recent past acquisitions, including EB Charging and Blue Corner in Europe, we have significantly expanded and strengthened our position as a global leader in the EV space,” said Mr. Farkas.

Mahi Reddy from SemaConnect is expected to join the Blink Board of Directors.

The SemaConnect acquisition is subject to customary closing conditions.

Working with leading facility solutions provider ABM, Blink is supplying its IQ 200 Level 2 chargers to participating GM dealerships across North America.

“We are proud to bring Blink’s EV charging stations to GM dealerships, providing the vital infrastructure needed to charge GM’s growing lineup of EV models,” said Michael D. Farkas, Founder & Chief Executive Officer of Blink Charging. “As transportation continues to shift towards becoming more electric, Blink’s technologically advanced EV charging infrastructure will be a critical component of an automaker’s ecosystem and will play a significant role in accelerating EV mass adoption.”
