Australian Parking Convention to Explore Future
Scenarios for Car Parks
Today, Parking Australia will welcome over 300 delegates to the Parking Australia Convention & Exhibition (PACE), which is taking place at The Star Gold Coast from 1-2 November.
PACE is Australia’s largest event for the parking industry, focusing on the latest innovations and trends in parking, and will feature a two-day program of national and international guest speakers, and a trade exhibition featuring over 40 exhibitors.
Now in its 16th year, the conference attracts key representatives from every segment of the industry and is the only event where leaders and decision makers gather to discuss future trends, policy and innovation.
The conference program will kick off today with a Keynote Address from technology futurist, Steve Sammartino, who will present on the Mobility Revolution and how business and industry can thrive by re-defining the way we connect ‘transport nodes’. Steve’s session will be followed by a panel session on Repurposing Car Parks, which will explore scenarios for future-proofing from construction to retrofitting different technologies.
Later in the day, Nolan Hough from Manchester Airports Group (MAG) in the UK, will deliver a Keynote Address on An Airports Journey to Digital Transformationand how a newly formed digital start-up at MAG has re-platformed & redesigned their web, eCommerce, market & revenue management systems.
Friday morning’s Keynote Address will feature Hans Oortwijn, from the Dutch Government Road Transport Agency, who will discuss his role in pioneering a single National Parking Register.
“This year’s theme, the changing space of parking, is supported by an exhibition of future technologies, and keynote speakers who are experts in the growing field of parking management and smart cities”, said Parking Australia President, Sharon Prior.
“For 2018 we have put together a program that focuses on how to ensure car parks can handle the wave of new transport solutions for the future, whether that be through digital transformation or future-proofing, or a combination of both. The parking industry is undergoing rapid diversification, and we want to give some further definition to these changes and what they mean for our industry.”
Registrations for PACE open from 8am at The Star Gold Coast event centre. For more information visit www.pace2018.com.au.
