Circontrol has renewed its WallBox range with eNext, a new EV charger series designed for domestic, private and semi-public sector and which has considered both his design and the simplification of the charging process. This new charger is perfect for homes, condominiums, workplaces and carparks.

With this new WallBox eNext series, Circontrol has taken a bet for design. With the spread of e-mobility EV chargers will be more present in our environment, from homes to offices or shopping malls. That’s why charging external look is getting even more important. Curved lines along with the combination of black piano and white matt make eNext the most elegant wallbox of those designed by Circontrol so far and its proportions and size make it the right product for any wall.

eNext WallBox series has also been designed to simplify the charging process as much as possible. One of its most outstanding and innovative features is Presence Recognition that works through the smartphone’s Bluetooth. This technology allows the user to activate the load without interacting with the charger, the charge starts when the approved user is detected by Bluetooth and the cable is connected to the car.

In addition to Presence Recognition it includes other features that make the charging process easier. Among these features there’s an APP to control and configure the eNext, activate the charge remotely, programme it to accommodate the charging session to the energy hourly rates and a frontal LED bar that informs the user about the charging and charger status. Besides making it user-friendly, robustness and security have been taken into account. The housing is made of ABS, a robust and UV resistant material that protects the charger of mechanical stress and sever environment conditions. It also includes internal electrical protections.

Three different models to cover all market needs

This January Circontrol is launching the basic model of the eNext range, but this series will be extended on the following months with two superior models. With these different models with different features Circontrol wants to create a product range that adapts to the needs of different users.

During the following months Circontrol will launch eNextPro and eNext Elite which are designed for fleets, car parks and communities of residents thanks to he communications that allow them to work in multipoint and master-slave setups.

eNext Pro can be configured as a slave in multipoint facilities. Furthermore, user management is made easy with an RFID reader and a MID meter to manage charging

eNext Elite is the most advanced model in the range. In terms of communications, it features OCPP 1.6 and WiFi, as well as an Ethernet connector for multipoint and master-slave setups. In addition to this, its display makes it the best option for the most demanding homes that, although they do not need any type of multipoint or Master-Slave connection, they want a higher gamma charger.

Showcased and awarded in international fairs

WallBox eNext is available since January, but during the autumn has been showcased in international fair trades with a great reception. Circontrol has presented this new series at his booth at eMove360º in Munich last October and Circutor has shown it at Matelec last November where it won the prize for electrical installation.

ABB launches its most economical charging solution for electric vehicles

ABB enhances its portfolio of charging solutions with the addition of a range of AC wallboxes, an easy to install solution for homes and businesses

The new AC wallbox portfolio, comprised of 52 different types in total, provides a high quality, cost effective electric car charging point for private and business use. The latest addition further strengthens ABB’s comprehensive portfolio of smarter building solutions from lighting to heating, music, security and car charging.

Easy to fit and with a compact design of 50 by 25 cm2, the wallbox can be installed at homes or offices. It is particularly suited to businesses that wish to provide overnight charging facilities for customers, such as those in the hospitality business.

Frank Mühlon, Head of ABB’s Global Business for Electric Vehicle Charging, said: “With the continued growth in sales of hybrid and battery powered electric cars, businesses and drivers are looking for simple and cost-effective vehicle charging solutions.”

“Charging should not be an interruption to the day, which is why we have extended our portfolio with the AC wallbox, which is simple to install and use at home or work. Drivers will now enjoy being able to just plug their car in overnight and get on with their day.”

Manufactured with a robust all-weather enclosure for indoor and outdoor use, wallboxes are available in different versions, offering 4.6 and 11 kW AC charging as well as 22 kW AC 3-phase charging. As with all ABB products, expert assistance with fitting and maintaining the wallboxes is only a phone call away through the company’s global technical support services.

Compatible with the industry standard Open Charge Point Protocol (OCPP), the ABB AC wallbox is future-proof and enabled for authentication and load balancing.

For added flexibility, the wallboxes offer a range of connector types including type 2 socket, type 2 socket with shutter and type 1 and type 2 cable. For locations where wall mounting is difficult, a range of pedestals are available including one charger, two chargers back to back or two chargers in a 90 de- gree angle. Wallboxes are also available with or without energy meter, load balancing, back office inte- gration and UMTS/3G modem.

Other key optional features include: Radio-Frequency Identification (RFID) and key authorization for in- creased security; sim card models for data communication; input current limiting software to match site requirements; communication interface for intelligently controlled charging and web tools for statistics, configuration and access management.

Frank Mühlon added: “With the launch of the AC wallbox, customers can now benefit from charging solutions that are connected to their building infrastructure. Regardless of where they live and work,
