Concord Parking Finds Parking Solution for Newfoundland and Labrador Hospitals
Concord Parking has installed four new Tango Pay Stations at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital and The Miller Centre in Newfoundland and Labrador. The move comes after Newfoundland and Labrador Health Services (NLHS) came to Concord looking for a way to deter unauthorized parkers fromtaking up the limited number of spots available for hospital patients and guests.
NLHS wanted a cost-effective, user-friendly, and non-gated solution for its lots. To help solve the problem, Concord leveraged its team of parking experts across Canada. The solution was to setup the hospitals with various methods of payment. The new Tango Pay Stations can be found in the lobbies of both facilities. For patients and visitors, the pay stations simplify parking, as they accept coin, debit, and credit cards. Each site also has a QR code that connects to Concord’s SMRTpass, enabling customers to purchase parking on their smartphones. Customers can now enter theirlicense plate number through the Tango Pay Stations or on their phone, and the information is transferred to Concord’s License Plate Recognition (LPR) System, which monitors the lots andkeeps traffic flowing.
“Our client is extremely pleased with our parking implementation. She is relieved when she arrives at the hospital in the morning and sees ample parking spots available for the patients andvisitors.” said Michael Murray, President of Concord Parking.
The end result: Concord Parking successfully addressed NLHS’s concerns, making the patient and visitor experience a little less stressful while also recreating a revenue stream that was untapped for years.
