ENDERA SELECTED FOR LARGEST STATE EV BUS CONTRACT IN US HISTORY

The longest range and fastest charging EV shuttle on the market, Endera’s built-in-the-USA buses are now available (as the lowest bid price) to 300+ California transit fleets.

LOS ANGELES, CA [February 7th, 2023] Basin Transit Authority (MBTA) has authorized, on behalf of the California Association for Coordinated Transportation (CALACT), Endera for their B-Series all-electric buses in the largest statewide purchasing contract in US history. Endera was awarded the contract for up to 1,000 electric shuttles through its distribution partner, Coachwest Luxury & Performance Motorcars (Coachwest).

CALACT association’s membership of transit agencies, as well as city and county governments, can now purchase Endera’s B-Series all-electric shuttles through a streamlined process which complies with federal and state purchasing regulations.

CALACT is the largest state transit association in the United States and helps fleet operators avoid lengthy and expensive individual procurement efforts. With over 300 members, CALACT works to promote professional excellence, stimulate ideas for effective community transit, and advocate for improved public transportation in all parts of California.

Endera’s All-Electric B-Series Shuttle

An estimated 1,000 electric shuttles are expected to be purchased from the CALACT contract by 2025, with additional electric buses procured over the entire 5-year contract period, making it the most of any state purchasing contracts for electric buses in the United States.

As the industry’s only vertically integrated mid-sized EV bus maker in the United States, Endera’s electric powertrains and vehicle bodies are built under one roof at the company’s 250,000 sq ft manufacturing facility in Ottawa, Ohio.

Endera’s electric shuttles and associated service partnerships support California’s clean air and climate goals. Endera’s proprietary electric powertrains are developed at the company’s Research and Development (R&D) headquartered in Los Angeles, California. With a focus on quality and service, Endera offers state-wide service capability throughout California with its R&D facility and service partners.

“Endera was awarded the CALACT contract as the lowest priced vendor and the only vertically integrated one-stop-shop. We listen to our clients to learn about the problems they face and understand the solutions they need, which is why we have a superior offering in virtually every category,” said John Walsh, Founder & CEO of Endera.

“All of our models have a fast-charging option, increasing up-time for operators, while also providing significant range capability. We have developed a fully integrated software ecosystem that makes it easier and less expensive to adopt electric buses, so fleet operators can focus on running their business.” Walsh continued.

“Whether a fleet is large or small, finding reliable, affordable electric shuttles can be a tough proposition. Endera is honored to be one of the select few to successfully complete the rigorous CALACT vetting process, allowing us to offer our best-in-class electric buses to transit fleet operators throughout the state,” said Don White, Sales Manager at Endera.

Jay Real, Manager, Sales at Coachwest added, “Coachwest is pleased to offer Endera products under the CALACT contract. These cutting-edge vehicles are also eligible for Hybrid and Zero Emission Truck and Bus Voucher Incentive Project (HVIP) point-of-sale vouchers.”

Endera’s electric buses feature smart technology, including proprietary dispatch software that tracks vehicles and routes, automates records and energy management, and streamlines reporting and vehicle service. The platform also integrates with Endera GO, a consumer app designed to improve riders’ experience.

The B-Series offers a 12-passenger + 2 and a 16-passenger + 2 wheelchair seating option, with additional floorplans available to meet each agency’s requirements. The series has a lightweight body design to maximize range efficiency and can charge in as little as 45 minutes, making it the fastest charging electric bus of its class on the market in the U.S.

Endera Joins CALSTART’s Drive To Zero Campaign To Accelerate Zero-Emission Commercial Vehicles

September 30, 2021

Endera Joins CALSTART’s Drive To Zero Campaign To Accelerate Zero-Emission Commercial Vehicles

SAN DIEGO, CA [September 30, 2021] – Endera, a technology company specializing in all-electric commercial vehicles, charging infrastructure and software solutions, is excited to announce we have committed to endorsing CALSTART’s Generation Zero pledgeprogram, a strategic Midwest regional program designed to catalyze the growth of  zero-emission transit vehicles – including transit, shuttle and school buses.

Through Generation Zero, Endera and our Ohio based school and shuttle bus factory will be working with a global team of leading-edge, clean transportation innovators collaboratively sharing best practices, tools, ideas, challenges, and victories, all with the shared purpose of maximizing the clean air, climate, and economic benefits these vehicles bring

“As part of our pledge, Endera partners will work collectively with regional stakeholders to expedite zero-emission transit vehicle deployments, including both battery electric buses (BEBs) and fuel cell electric buses (FCEBs), over the next 10 to 20 years. Generation Zero recognizes transit as a first success application for transportation electrification,” said John Walsh, Endera’s Chief Executive Officer. “

Medium and heavy-duty trucks also generate 60% of air pollution in major metropolitan areas and are responsible for approximately 22% of energy use in the U.S. transportation sector. Figures such as these are the reason why momentum is building for federal support to encourage greater and quicker adoption of electrification technologies. Progress in zero-emission transit vehicle deployment ensures that the Midwest will continue its leadership in all things transportation, job creation, and continued manufacturing growth. Pledge partners will help the region’s states and cities meet sustainability goals and realize their clean air ambitions, while driving industrial competitiveness and clean technology job growth.

In joining Generation Zero, Endera is committing to being active in communications and activities geared toward achieving the two fundamental goals of the program:

  • Make zero-emission transit vehicle deployments (vehicles and infrastructure) commercially viable and cost competitive in the Midwest by 2025, including at least 1,500 vehicle orders and deployments by 2025—a 360% increase over 2020
  • Ensure zero-emission transit vehicles achieve 100 percent new sales across the Midwest by 2040 and ideally as early as 2035 with the right ecosystems in place.

CCW Delivers Two Completely Rehabbed 60′ Buses to Capital Area Transit

February 16, 2021

CCW Delivers Two Completely Rehabbed 60′ Buses to Capital Area Transit

RIVERSIDE, CA – Complete Coach Works (CCW) announced today that it has made the final delivery to Capital Area Transit (CAT). The contract, which calls for the rehabilitation of two articulated New Flyer buses, was awarded late last year.

Work on the buses included repowering the engines to Cummins Recon ISL. The new engines are fuel efficient, low weight, and compact. Additional work for the buses included installment of rebuilt Allison transmissions, new driver seats, reupholstered and repainted passenger seats, new interior and exterior LED lighting, and ADA compliant wheelchair ramps. Other upgrades included new brakes and suspensions, steering components, and destination signs.

Rehabilitation of vehicles is often part of a transit system’s strategy. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the 60′ articulated vehicles provides more space for riders and allows for greater social distancing. The vehicles also enhance the passenger experience by improving customers’ comfort and safety in a cost-effective manner.

By purchasing a remanufactured bus, CAT receives two fully renovated buses for about half the cost of a new bus. “A complete restoration is not only cost-effective, but a retrofit bus takes a fraction of the time to deliver in months not years,” states Brad Carson, Director of Sales and Marketing at CCW. “Our priority is to assist our clients in their efforts to ensure the safety of the people in their communities. We will continue to work and support agencies through this unprecedented time”.

Complete Coach Works (CCW) is the largest bus remanufacturing and rehabilitation company in the United States, with over 30 years in the transportation industry. A pioneer in the field of alternative fuel and hybrid vehicle technology, CCW has always worked to provide clean vehicles through innovative design and engineering, and it unveiled the world’s first remanufactured all-electric, battery-powered bus in 2012. For jobs of any size, CCW’s team of over 350 experts always provides cutting-edge products and exceptional customer service.

Capital Area Transit (CAT) also known as the Cumberland-Dauphin-Harrisburg Transit Authority, is a regional public transportation agency that operates bus and shared ride/paratransit services in the Harrisburg, Pennsylvania metropolitan area. CAT’s shared ride/paratransit operations serve residents throughout Dauphin County.

Duke adds two 40-foot electric buses to its campus fleet; the buses are expected to go into service next week

Two new fully-electric buses have arrived and are expected to begin operating on campus next week as Duke takes another sustainable step toward carbon neutrality by 2024.

Each 40-foot Proterra ZX5 bus carries up to 40 seated passengers and operates for about 200 miles on a single charge. The battery-electric buses release zero tailpipe emissions, require no oil changes and use no liquid fuels.

One of the electric buses displays the Sustainable Duke logo. The buses will run the C1 route, connecting East and West campuses. One bus serves as a mobile billboard for Duke’s commitment to carbon neutrality, featuring the Sustainable Duke logo, images of electric cords and messages like “green technology,” “reduced emissions” and “100% electric.” The other bus displays a message that it is 100 percent electric.

“This is a first we’re very proud of,” said Carl DePinto, director of Duke Parking and Transportation Services. “We’re happy to do our part in helping Duke become climate neutral.”

Duke currently operates 24 buses that run on hybrid-diesel or diesel fuel. The new battery-powered electric buses will replace two diesel vehicles, saving Duke on maintenance and fuel, DePinto said.

CALACT Enables Easy Purchase of Phoenix Motorcars’ Zero Emission Shuttle Buses

October 02, 2020

CALACT Enables Easy Purchase of Phoenix Motorcars’ Zero Emission Shuttle Buses

Ontario, CA. – Phoenix Motorcars’ ZEUS Zero Emission Shuttles was selected as an eligible vehicle by the Morongo Basin Transit Authority (“MBTA”) and California Association for Coordinated Transportation (“CALACT”) purchasing cooperative. Selected following a detailed evaluation, audits and manufacturing facility evaluation, this is testimony to the quality and technology focus at Phoenix Motorcars.

Transit agencies who are members of CALACT can now purchase the ZEUS all-electric shuttle bus through a federal and California State compliant purchasing solution, avoiding lengthy & expensive RFPs and bid processes. This also enables transit agencies to select vehicles of their choice rather than having to piggyback on other state or agency procurements. Other public agencies and non-profits can also purchase the ZEUS all-electric shuttles buses through the cooperative.

Starcraft Bus, the largest selling shuttle bus manufacturer in North America, Creative Bus Sales – the nation’s largest bus dealer and Phoenix Motorcars, the leading manufacturer of all-electric shuttle buses & trucks have come together to build and distribute the competitive range of electric shuttle buses that are Buy America and ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) compliant.

“Phoenix is proud to be selected by CALACT to supply electric shuttles to members of the purchasing cooperative. We’re working closely with a number of transit agencies looking to acquire our shuttles and the CALACT contract makes it a lot simpler. Together with Starcraft and Creative, Phoenix is well positioned to meet the growing demand for electric transportation in California” says Tarek Helou, COO at Phoenix Motorcars.

The ZEUS all-electric shuttle bus is powered by Phoenix’s third generation drivetrain, offering multiple pack sizes and range up to 160 miles. Built with the Starcraft Allstar body, the shuttles offer multiple seating layouts, including ADA options, fulfilling the needs of paratransit, dial-a-ride and first/last mile services.

Transit agencies in California are mandated by the Innovative Clean Transportation (ICT) Regulation to transition to all-electric buses. The addition of electric shuttle buses to the CALACT purchasing cooperative simplifies the switch to zero-emission alternatives.

About Phoenix Motorcars: Phoenix Motorcars develops, deploys, and services all electric drive systems for Zero Emission Commercial Vehicles. The company’s electric vehicles have logged over 2-million zero emission miles, reducing over 6.5 million pounds of carbon emissions. Phoenix Motorcars strives to provide fleets with clean transportation and renewable energy through advanced technology solutions and remains committed to excellence in electric vehicle innovation.
