MERCEDES-BENZ DEBUTS INRIX OFF-STREET PARKING IN EUROPE AND U.S.

Mercedes-Benz E-Class to include real-time and dynamic parking information for garage location, number of spaces, detailed rates and current occupancy levels

Kirkland, WA – June 7, 2016 – INRIX, Inc., the world leader in connected car services and movement analytics, today announced that its Off-Street Parking service is now available in the Mercedes-Benz E-Class in Europe and coming to the U.S. this summer. This newly integrated feature enables drivers to easily find, compare and navigate to available off-street parking spaces using the COMAND® infotainment system.

“In the era of the connected car, having access to dynamic parking information is no longer a luxury for drivers but a necessity,” said Andreas Hecht, executive vice president and general manager of automotive at INRIX. “INRIX Off-Street Parking plays a critical role for customers who expect a high standard of performance and innovation in their driving experience.”

INRIX Off-Street Parking provides drivers with real-time parking information that includes routes to the closest garage locations, detailed rates, limitations and restrictions and real-time occupancy. It offers access to the world’s most comprehensive and accurate parking database that includes more than 29 million confirmed spaces in over 90,000 accessible locations spanning 4,000 cities in 64 countries. INRIX Off-Street Parking only displays publicly accessible, non-restricted parking spaces, including both free and fee locations, so users are never misrouted to locations that are unavailable to the general public. SBD, a global automotive technology research firm, recently concluded that INRIX was the “clear winner” in an independent off-street parking study that looked at key parking attributes in Germany and the U.S.

INRIX launched the industry’s first dynamic off-street parking service in 2013, followed by the first integrated on-street parking solution in June 2015. In August 2015, INRIX acquired ParkMe, a leader in parking location, availability and reservations worldwide. INRIX is the preferred provider of parking information and services to leading automakers, transportation agencies and drivers around the world.

RingGo Wins Europe’s Innovation Award for Parking at Intertraffic

April 06, 2016

RingGo Wins Europe’s Innovation Award for Parking at Intertraffic

Today (5 April) at Intertraffic, the world’s largest B2B traffic exhibition, the Parking Category Award for Innovation was won by RingGo, the UK’s leading cashless parking solution.

The award has been made for RingGo’s ‘Parking Prediction’ function which helps motorists find parking in central London and across the UK. When planning a journey, the driver uses the RingGo app to find their desired destination. They then select their preferred parking spot from coloured RingGo pins on the map – the traffic light red-amber-green system indicating the likelihood of spaces being available in the local area.

The service uses a unique algorithm developed by parent company Park Mobile’s in-house team of developers. “Big data” analyses calculate the likely proportion of free space, linking historical usage with a real-time data feed provided by parking sensors or RingGo’s ongoing usage. This information is offered back dynamically to the motorist as part of an ever-changing map.

RingGo’s solution offers an extremely cost-effective alternative to bay sensor parking, a technology which has been trialled by some London Boroughs. Whereas bay sensors currently cost about £200 per unit (plus the costs of installation and maintenance), the RingGo estimate of parking availability is offered to drivers and operators free of charge.

RingGo’s Commercial Director, Harry Clarke, says of the win, “We always try to put the motorist first in what we do, so we’re very pleased to be recognised for this customer-focused innovation. Clever use of real-time data directs drivers to find parking quickly and easily. And it just shows that you don’t need to spend thousands on hardware to help people get on with their lives.”

General Manager for the Parkmobile Group, Marius Koerselman, concurs, “The team in Basingstoke is well known within Parkmobile for its new ideas and tech development skills. Now this talent has been appreciated on the world stage with this Award. I couldn’t be more proud!”
