Electric vehicle drivers will be able to charge up on the new Blink chargers and enjoy the city’s sights at a ribbon cutting event on February 8, 2024.

Miami Beach, Fla., Feb. 08, 2024 — Blink Charging Co. A ribbon cutting event will mark the installation of the chargers on February 8, 2024, from 11:00-12:00 p.m. EST at the East All Saints parking garage located at 125 E All Saints St. in downtown Frederick.

The installation of 20 charging stations across the four designated parking garages – East All Saints, Carroll Creek, Court Street, and West Patrick – is a result of the City of Frederick’s plan to cater to the charging needs of residents lacking home charging options and visitors to the city. This strategic placement enables convenient vehicle charging for individuals during their downtown visits. These garages are strategically located near key retail, dining, and residential areas within the City of Frederick, enhancing accessibility for users.

The collaboration between Blink Charging and the City of Frederick signifies a groundbreaking advancement in the expansion and innovation of EV charging infrastructure. The City of Frederick Department of Economic Development is the proprietor and operator of all four parking garage locations. In a bid to enhance service, it is introducing membership options for residents, ensuring secured access to charging spots, granting them the flexibility to charge their vehicles at their convenience. This initiative is designed to cater to residents and frequent visitors to Frederick, providing added convenience for their trips to the city.

Culver City, CA —Zevtron, a Carlsbad, California-based smart EV charging software and hardware solutions provider, announced today that it has completed the installation of a new EV charging project in a Culver City, California business complex. This innovative project allows the complex owner to manage or restrict access to the chargers by tenant. Currently, the EV chargers are utilized by a state agency to recharge employee and fleet vehicles.

“This was a very innovative project, and I think it illustrates what the future of EV charging will look like at complexes with multiple tenants or user types,” said Zevtron founder Bob Andrews. “Our software permits the owner to manage who is authorized to use the EV chargers and when they can use them. In the future, the owner will be able to add additional authorized users or further limit use, based on individual tenant agreements. This can be great strategy for building and complex owners wishing to monetize EV charging.”

The installation featured five stations of 30-amp dual port chargers. The chargers are controlled by leveraging Zevtron’s industry leading software, which provides the flexibility to manage unique use cases on each individual charger.

A ribbon cutting event will mark the installation on September 27, 2023, from 4 – 5 p.m. EST at Jon Henry’s General Store at 9383 N. Congress St. in New Market, Va.

The installation of three Blink IQ 200 Advanced chargers and three Blink IQ 200 Smart chargers at Jon Henry’s General Store reinforces Blink’s commitment to the Mid-Atlantic Electrification Partnership (MAEP). The Mid-Atlantic Electrification Partnership is focused on creating a regional EV ecosystem in Virginia, West Virginia, Washington D.C., and Maryland to connect the Mid-Atlantic Region’s cities. This will enable the utilization of all sizes of EVs (light, medium and heavy duty) for fleets, transportation network companies, and consumers alike. Connected car service provider Parkopedia and one of the largest Charge Point Operators (CPO) in the US, Blink Charging, are working together to provide EV drivers with an improved charging experience. Parkopedia users are now able to access nearly 12,000 Blink public chargers across more than 4,000 US locations, directly through their vehicle head units, providing EV drivers with the greatest possible convenience and charger visibility.

This agreement further increases Parkopedia’s presence in the North American market, with the company expanding its ‘Park and Charge’ EV service for its various automaker customers. Additionally, the service gains ‘live’ availability data from Blink’s network of chargers, enabling the company to provide drivers with increasingly accurate parking and charging availability predictions, as part of a more complete EV charging experience.

This addresses US EV drivers’ most significant concerns, cited in the 2023 Global Driver Survey, including nearly 60% being concerned about finding charging away from home and more than 1 in 3 drivers struggling to find EV public charging locations “all the time” or “very frequently” – both higher figures than any other featured country in thesurvey. Furthermore, 53% of US EV drivers shared they have been unable to charge when needed previously due to chargers being occupied by other vehicles on arrival.

More concerningly, 73% of American EV drivers have run out of charge before – again more than drivers in any other country surveyed. As a result, 92% of US drivers would be more likely to purchase an EV if it had ‘Park and Charge’ functionality to simplify the process of finding suitable charging. These survey figures highlight the value of providing seamless charging experiences to American drivers, helping more drivers transition to EVs and reducing charging anxiety by preventing them from running out of charge or failing to locate suitable chargers while travelling.

Parkopedia regularly validates parking and charging data to ensure that accuracy is as high as possible, with ‘dynamic data’ helping to provide drivers with valuable parking and charging predictions for when spaces orcharging stations are most likely available. Parkopedia and Blink are exploring the scope of the collaboration to provide even more solutions in future, with the ambition of further streamlining the process of parking and charging for EV drivers.

RALEIGH, N.C., Sept. 12, 2023 — Private businesses and governments can now choose their new electric vehicle (EV) charger locations with data-driven precision. Kimley-Horn, the national engineering, planning, and design consulting firm, today launched TREDLite EV, a cloud-based tool that helps organizations develop and optimize their EV charger deployment strategies based on the organization’s unique priorities.

The U.S. has 145,000 public Level 2 and direct-current (DC) fast charging ports. To meet 2030’s EV charging needs, the U.S. will need 2.3 million combined Level 2 chargers and DC fast charging ports—16 times today’s number—according to S&P Global Mobility.

  • Customized client-specific data.
