eleven-x’s eXactpark Solution Selected by the City of Guelph to Improve Parking Access and Urban Mobility

The solution will provide real-time space status availability and intelligent enforcement to help residents and visitors more easily find parking and reduce traffic

WATERLOO, Ontario, November, 30, 2022 — eleven-x, a global leader providing complete, high-performance, wireless IoT and Smart City solutions, today announced it was selected by the City of Guelph to help the municipality improve the management and oversight of their two-hour free parking program by implementing the company’s innovative eXactpark™ solution. eleven-x’s smart parking solution enables comprehensive parking monitoring via a real-time sensor-based stall occupancy technology and a comprehensive software and parking intelligence platform to enable effective management of the city’s parking assets.

The City of Guelph is a vibrant community of over 143,000 people situated in the heart of southern Ontario with a thriving city center. eXactpark will enable the city to better manage its limited parking resources and reduce traffic congestion by providing  real-time parking stall occupancy data, and software to use this data to manage parking assets and implement advanced intelligent enforcement capabilities.

The comprehensive solution incorporates eleven-x’s award winning, patent pending SPS-X sensor, which provides the stall occupancy data to the eXactpark software suite.  The sensor utilizes multiple technologies including magnetic sensing, radar, Bluetooth, along with advanced edge processing,  to provide industry-leading battery life, reliability and most importantly accuracy. Sensors will be installed in two phases, starting with 250 stalls across the municipality’s unique downtown district, with an additional 1,750 projected to be deployed throughout the city to provide advanced real-time analytics of key parking metrics. The eXactpark software suite not only provides parking intelligence software to the city but  will also enable intelligent parking enforcement capabilities so the city can improve its monitoring capabilities for its two-hour free parking program. The sensors will detect how long vehicles are parked in, a space and will be used to enforce the free two-hour limit and to inform longer-term planning for parking needs.

“Many municipalities have free parking policies. It is typically challenging to efficiently monitor, manage and ensure usage compliance for a resource that is offered free of charge. This makes it difficult to maintain the best experience for drivers, since it leads to excessive traffic, and frustrates residents, visitors and ultimately the small business owners who rely on them” said Dan Mathers, President and CEO of eleven-x. “the capabilities that eXactpark provides, including real-time availability and intelligent enforcement, will help the City of Guelph to streamline parking operations, resulting in cost savings,  while at the same time reducing traffic and improving access to downtown businesses.”

eXactpark’s intelligent enforcement and real-time status and monitoring capabilities are essential to the city as it helps reduce cruise times, improves road safety and reduces greenhouse gas emissions. The data and insights provided by the smart parking solution will also provide the City of Guelph actionable insights to help with parking asset planning and dynamic pricing initiatives.

“This technology will help make parking downtown easier and more convenient. Eventually, this data will be available on our website so visitors will know – in real time – how many parking spaces are available before they head downtown. These sensors will also improve road safety and lower greenhouse gas emissions across the city.” said Jamie Zettle, Program Manager, Parking at the City of Guelph. “We decided to partner with eleven-x since we have seen the successful deployment of the company’s eXactpark solution in multiple major cities and institutions across North America.”

eXactPark uses LoRaWAN®, a low-power technology that offers a 10-year battery life and minimal maintenance. For more information on eleven-x’s eXactpark solution please visit exactpark.com.

Beam Global Receives $2.9M Order from U.S. Department of Homeland Security for Sustainable EV Charging Infrastructure Products*

SAN DIEGO, Nov. 14, 2022  — Beam Global, (Nasdaq: BEEM, BEEMW), the leading provider of innovative sustainable products and technologies for electric vehicle (EV) charging, energy storage, energy security and outdoor media, announced that the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has ordered 32 Beam EV ARC™ sustainable off-grid charging systems and 3 ARC Mobility™ trailers for efficient system transport. The systems will be deployed across 8 locations for Customs Border Patrol (CBP), Federal Law Enforcement Training Centers (FLETC) and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). EO 14057 Catalyzing Clean Energy Industries and Jobs Through Federal Sustainabilityprioritizes federal investment in energy resilient infrastructure for EV charging, powered by locally produced and delivered renewable energy for America’s next generation electricity supply. The purchase was made through the General Services Administration (GSA) Multiple Award Schedule (MAS) Contract Number 47QSWA21D0006 which simplifies the federal procurement process and ensures best pricing.

The DHS charging systems will be deployed in Georgia, Maryland, New Mexico, South Carolina, and 4 locations in Puerto Rico. The Beam EV ARC™ systems are off-grid and powered by renewable energy, generating and storing their own clean electricity. Each system is deployed with no construction, no electrical work, no utility connection, and is delivered as a turnkey sustainable charging system that is rapidly deployed. Because EV ARC™ systems are flood proof to 9.5 feet and wind rated to 125 mph, and have survived much higher wind speeds in the field, they are particularly well suited to provide disaster preparedness in environments like Puerto Rico. The ARC Mobility™ trailer is a specialized hydraulic transport system designed to efficiently relocate EV ARC™ charging systems.

“Our products are perfect for Executive Order (14057) for a Clean Energy Economy: resilient, clean, sustainable and rapidly deployed EV charging infrastructure solutions,” said Desmond Wheatley, Beam Global CEO. “We continue to see increasing federal GSA orders and pipeline opportunities citing federal initiatives. Our sustainable EV charging solutions create American manufacturing jobs to build American made products that serve zero emission transportation with 100% locally generated renewable and resilient energy.”

The federal fleet is comprised of approximately 657,500 vehicles. President Biden’s Executive Order 14057 with its accompanying Federal Sustainability Plan calls for 100% zero-emission vehicle acquisitions by 2035, including 100% light-duty acquisitions by 2027. This is prioritizing and accelerating a Federal Clean Electricity and Vehicle Procurement Strategy, calling for clean and zero emissions vehicles (ZEVs) for federal, state, local and tribal government fleets, including vehicles of the United States Postal Service.

Beam products can be procured through the General Services Administration (GSA) Multiple Award Schedule (MAS) Contract Number 47QSWA21D0006 which simplifies the federal procurement process and ensures best pricing.

Blink Charging Collaborates with Hubject to Provide Plug&Charge Across the Blink Network in North America and Europe

October 31, 2022

Blink Charging Collaborates with Hubject to Provide Plug&Charge Across the Blink Network in North America and Europe

Miami Beach, FL, Oct. 31, 2022  — Blink Charging Co.(NASDAQ: BLNK, BLNKW) (Blink), a leading owner, operator and provider of electric vehicle (EV) charging equipment and services, and Hubject, an open IT platform provider, today announced a collaborative agreement to provide Blink customers in the United States and Europe with the Plug&Charge functionality and grow the Plug&Charge ecosystem.

The Plug&Charge feature is based on the ISO 15118 protocol, which allows a fully automated charging process, as the authentication begins as soon as the driver connects their vehicle to the Blink charging station. This allows EV drivers to leave their RFID cards and smartphone apps in their pockets providing an even more convenient charging experience for Blink users.

A Plug&Charge enabled vehicle is equipped with a set of certificates that transmit the customer’s contract data directly to the charging station providing greater security over the authentication via RFID card, app or credit card. The subsequent payment is also handled automatically through Blink Charging. By fully automating authentication, Plug&Charge creates a charging process that is very convenient, easy to handle, and entirely hassle-free for the driver.

“This collaboration will be an added benefit for EV drivers who charge with Blink chargers,” said Michael D. Farkas, CEO and Founder of Blink Charging. Mr. Farkas added that “Hubject’s Plug&Charge service will enable Blink users with vehicles capable of using Plug&Charge to charge their EVs without the need of an RFID card or using an app, making the charging experience even more convenient.”

“We are thrilled to be partnering with Blink Charging to offer their drivers a seamless Plug&Charge experience across their expansive North American and European networks,” said Trishan Peruma, CEO of Hubject Inc. “Creating an effortless charging experience for EV drivers lowers the barriers of EV adoption. The more straightforward the process, the more people will be convinced to join in the mobility transition.”

Blink Charging Announces the Transformative Acquisition of EV Charging Leader SemaConnect, Further Expanding Its Network and Capabilities

Blink Charging Announces the Transformative Acquisition of EV Charging Leader SemaConnect, Further Expanding Its Network and Capabilities

  • Acquisition further solidifies Blink’s leadership position through complete vertical integration of supply-chain, engineering, and in-house manufacturing capabilities of more than 10,000 EV chargers today and scaling to 50,000 per year
  • In-house manufacturing and US-based assembly brings Blink in compliance with the Biden Administration Buy American initiatives

Miami Beach, FL  Blink Charging Co. (Nasdaq: BLNK, BLNKW) (“Blink” or the “Company”), a leading owner, operator, and provider of electric vehicle (EV) charging equipment and services, today announced the signing of a definitive agreement to acquire SemaConnect, Inc., a leading provider of EV charging infrastructure solutions in North America, for $200 million subject to certain customary adjustments for working capital. The cash and common stock transaction will add nearly 13,000 EV chargers to Blink’s existing footprint, an additional 3,800 site host locations, and more than 150,000 registered EV driver members.

With this acquisition, Blink Charging will be the only EV charging company to offer complete vertical integration from research & development and manufacturing to EV charger ownership and operations. This vertical integration creates unparalleled opportunities for Blink to control its supply chain and accelerate its go-to-market speed while reducing operating costs.

Blink will benefit from SemaConnect’s in-house research & development, hardware design, and manufacturing capabilities. SemaConnect’s manufacturing facility in Maryland will allow Blink to comply with the Buy American mandates and to position itself to significantly capitalize on the $7.5 billion Biden Administration EV infrastructure bill and assist with the Administration’s goal to build out the first-ever national network of 500,000 electric vehicle chargers along America’s highways and in communities. The acquisition will also position Blink to assist the administration’s development of a national EV charging network that provides interoperability among different charging companies, and is user-friendly, reliable, and accessible to all Americans.

“This is a transformative acquisition for the EV charging industry and for Blink. SemaConnect is an established and well-known EV charging company with a proven track record of success, strong relationships with its site host partners in both the public and private sectors, and best-in-class technical capabilities,” said Michael D. Farkas, Founder and CEO of Blink Charging.

“SemaConnect has a robust hardware product line-up which complements Blink’s extensive software product offerings. This includes our multi-language and multi-currency network, allowing Blink to have an EV charging station for any location across more than 20 countries and expanding,” said Farkas. “In addition, we are particularly excited about the DCFC charger being developed by SemaConnect. These efforts allow Blink to significantly accelerate our DCFC speed to market while drastically reducing our R&D costs,” said Mr. Farkas.

Blink intends to transition SemaConnect’s chargers to a single state-of-the-art network developed by a joint engineering team, which nearly doubles with this acquisition. The addition of the SemaConnect hardware will accelerate Blink’s expansion across multiple municipalities and geographies, including California where SemaConnect chargers already comply with local requirements for swipe credit card functionality.

Founded in 2008, SemaConnect is a market leader with a diverse suite of products, including Level 2 and DC Fast chargers, and charging-as-a-service program which provides a full package of EV charging solutions. SemaConnect’s hardware and software solutions reach a wide range of critical EV charging customers across municipal, parking, multifamily, hotel, office, retail and commercial in the U.S. and Canada. Major customers include CBRE, JLL, Hines, Greystar, AvalonBay Communities, Cisco Systems, General Electric, among others.

Mahi Reddy, Founder and CEO of SemaConnect, said:  “Like Blink, SemaConnect has been a leader in the EV charging industry since its early days, and the combination of our expertise will enable us to scale the deployment of EV infrastructure even more quickly and efficiently. We are excited to join Blink as we charge ahead in transforming the EV charging industry with flexible, reliable, and innovative solutions for customers around the globe.”

“With complementary values, business models, and equipment, SemaConnect was an ideal acquisition target for Blink. This acquisition brings to Blink top talent from the industry. By adding the SemaConnect team to its ranks, Blink is building an industry leading EV charging company. We welcome the SemaConnect team to the Blink family,” said Mr. Farkas.

“With this acquisition and Blink’s recent past acquisitions, including EB Charging and Blue Corner in Europe, we have significantly expanded and strengthened our position as a global leader in the EV space,” said Mr. Farkas.

Mahi Reddy from SemaConnect is expected to join the Blink Board of Directors.

The SemaConnect acquisition is subject to customary closing conditions.

Parkopedia and Uproad revolutionise in-car tolling payments for US drivers

Parkopedia and Uproad revolutionise in-car tolling payments for US drivers

  • ●  Uproad’s digital toll alert and payment services to be integrated into Parkopedia’s in-car payment platform, with coverage across the US at launch
  • ●  The partnership allows for automated digital toll payments that drivers now expect from within their connected vehicles, eliminating the requirement for a tolling transponder
  • ●  Toll roads are proven to be safer to use, with integrated systems allowing for full service and transaction visibility – allowing drivers to keep their attention on the road

    27 May 2022 – London, UK / Washington, USA

Parkopedia, a leading connected vehicles services provider, and Uproad, a leading mobile tolling payment system, have announced the integration of their platforms, automating the toll payment process for millions of drivers in the US.

American drivers complete nearly 6 billion journeys, along the country’s nearly 9,500km of toll roads, bridges and tunnels every year, according to the International Bridge, Tunnel and Turnpike Association (IBTTA), who also concluded that toll roads and bridges tend to be safer, better maintained and less congested route options for drivers.

Uproad toll alerts and payments are currently available in 19 US states, with further coverage to be added later this year. The partnership enables seamless access through tollways by unifying Parkopedia’s in-car payment platform with Uproad’s digital toll payment system, eliminating the need for a tolling transponder. Drivers only need to register and agree to terms and conditions once to enable license plate recognition to identify the vehicle every time it passes through a toll, triggering the automated and effortless payments that drivers now expect from their connected vehicles. Real-time notifications are also sent to the driver for each event, allowing for transaction transparency and ease of management.

In the future, Parkopedia’s in-car payment platform will be a key enabler for the global transition towards smart cities, where tolling systems for zone entry and exit or road use are set to become the industry norm. Drivers of connected vehicles will expect an automated, all-digital customer payment experience for all tolling stations and chargeable zones as standard.

In addition to tolling, Parkopedia’s vehicle-centric payment platform, allows drivers to pay for both on and off-street parking, as well as EV charging, and ‘pay-at-the-pump’ fueling, all via the vehicle’s infotainment system. The platform solves the time-consuming and expensive task of aggregating a large number of service suppliers and payment providers for automakers, uniting them into a single integrated solution. Unique Single Sign-On capabilities, with full Payment Card Industry (PCI) data security compliance, allows for consistency across all merchants and all commerce domains, bringing together a plethora of payment service providers without additional enforced customer authentication at the point of sale.

Anthony Michael Ibrahim, Director of Business Development and Partnerships in North America at Parkopedia, said: “Millions of US drivers use toll roads and crossings everyday. We are delighted to partner with Uproad to increase our payment platform’s tolling coverage across North America and provide drivers with the seamless, automated digital toll payments that they now expect from their connected vehicles. Uproad and Parkopedia are both providers of cutting edge driver convenience technology, and are committed to providing safe, transparent and secure systems enabling positive user experiences for drivers.”

Sean Boyan, VP of Business Development at Uproad, added: “This partnership marks an important chapter in Uproad’s pursuit of providing drivers with a frictionless way to navigate toll road charges and pay tolls. Parkopedia is a forward-thinking and dynamic industry leader, and we are truly excited to announce this partnership. Uproad covers about 90% of all US toll roads, so we’re confident that together we’ll vastly improve many driver’s toll road experiences.”

Uproad is the latest addition to Parkopedia’s portfolio of leading payment services in the US and Europe, joining recent additions such as parking operators Passport, APCOA and OPnGO, as well as fueling partners ThinxNet and CarPay-Diem, further expanding the reach of the Parkopedia Payment Platform since its launch last year.
