Fulham Offers EliteControl Bluetooth Mesh LabKit for Fast, Easy Evaluation and Development of Wireless LED Controls

Self-contained EliteControl LabKit makes it easy to understand and test wireless Bluetooth mesh lighting control systems

HAWTHORNE, Calif. – November 13, 2018 – Fulham Co., Inc., a leading supplier of lighting components and electronics for commercial and specialty applications, has just released a new Bluetooth Mesh LabKit to make it easy for OEMs to quickly test and evaluate wireless LED controllers for commercial lighting systems. The LabKit comes ready to use, complete with Fulham’s Bluetooth mesh mobile commissioning application.

The EliteControl Bluetooth Mesh LabKit is a self-contained, 120V unit. The LabKit includes a Fulham LED light engine, a Fulham SmartBridge Bluetooth controller, an EnOcean wireless Bluetooth switch, and an Apple iPad loaded with Fulham’s controller software. Using the LabKit, the user will have a fully operational Bluetooth mesh LED control system in minutes.

With the EliteControl LabKit you can configure and manage wireless control zones. The Fulham controller app allows users to set up a new lighting project that can encompass one or more floors of a building. Zones made up of a group of Bluetooth mesh devices such as fixtures, sensors or switches are used to define controlled spaces on a specific floor or even within rooms. Custom configuration scenarios can be created using the Fulham app and stored for office spaces, restrooms, etc., to simplify controller commissioning.

Once the zones are configured, the LabKit can be used to connect and control  the lighting system. Luminaires can be added to each zone as needed and the LED engine will flash to show connectivity has been established. Once connected, the dimmer switch included in the LabKit can be used to test and control the zone lighting infrastructure.

“We wanted to offer a simple Bluetooth commissioning and evaluation kit to show customers how easy it is to set up a Bluetooth mesh control network,” said Alvaro Garcia, Senior Director, Product Management, for Fulham. “The EliteControl LabKit is ideal for understanding Bluetooth mesh for smaller projects, as well as for demonstrating and testing other Bluetooth mesh wireless LED devices.”

SIG qualified Bluetooth mesh is rapidly gaining momentum as the preferred approach for wireless LED lighting control. Bluetooth is an open standard so any qualified device will interoperable. The mesh architecture also is highly reliable with built-in failover and Bluetooth-enabled luminaires can be added or removed without disruption. Bluetooth mesh also is secure and highly scalable so it can connect thousands of nodes, and it provides a full stack communications platform so it can become the infrastructure for the Internet of Things (IoT).

Circontrol’s LedPark, the inteligent LED lighting system that revolutionizes efficient parking concept

Circontrol’s LedPark, the inteligent LED lighting system that revolutionizes efficient parking concept

Lighting plays a key role in parking management in two important aspects: the cost, including consumption and maintenance, and users experience, which results in customer’s loyalty. That’s why LED lighting is a key technology for parking lighting because it gets a better lighting for each parking lot while reducing the energy use and, therefore, the cost.

Circontrol has been working on LED lighting for car parks for a while but with LedPark it goes one step further creating a new concept with an intelligent lighting and management system integrated with CirPark Guidance and Occupancy System for car parks. This system adjusts the luminosity regarding vehicles’ and people’s flow and schedule obtaining a cost reduction in energy use, installation, maintenance and emergency lighting much higher than with other traditional lighting systems.

Example of a car park illuminated using LedPark and Circontrol’s guidance system

Among the advantages of Circontrol’s LedPark system there’s the cost reduction. LED technology represents a 60% saving on energy use and LEDs lifespan is ten times higher than fluorescent light lifespan.

For a car park with 100 parking lots that uses LedPark system the consumption would be 12.709 Kwh in its maximum use and just 5.086 in its regulated use, representing a reduction of energy consumption between 74% and 89% compared with the use of fluorescent lighting (depending on if LedPark is on maximum or regulated use).

Circontrol’s LedPark also represents a saving in maintenance and emergency system because our system performs this function.

LedPark improvements are not only economical; it also increases customer’s loyalty. LED lighting creates a more pleasant and comfortable environment for the users with a lighting management regarding schedule, occupancy and vehicle’s and people flow. All this managed by SCADA software and CirPark Guidance and Occupancy system that works together with LedPark in a common installation and amortization. An amortization that will take place in 2 or 3 years, depending on energy costs.

About Circontrol

It is a manufacturer company leader in its sector; with over 20.000 Electrical Vehicle Charging Stations all over the world and more than 450 Car Parks managed by its own Green Parking Platform.

Lunera Lighting’s Susan Lamp E26 LED Kit Converts High Intensity Discharge Fixtures to Ultra Low Power LED Lighting

Lunera Lighting’s Susan Lamp E26 LED Kit Converts High Intensity
Discharge Fixtures to Ultra Low Power LED Lighting

Santa Clara, Calif., – March 9, 2016 – Lunera® Lighting, Inc., a leader in lighting innovations accelerating the transformation to advanced LED technology, is pleased to introduce the Susan Lamp E26 LED Kit. Commercial facilities can now convert existing metal halide or high-pressure sodium fixtures into energy efficient, High Intensity Discharge (HID) LED lamp solutions. The kit contains a plug and play Susan Lamp and a high performance LED driver, to reduce power consumption to just 53-watts and address the differing requirements of various HID lighting fixture applications.

“Lunera continues its leadership in the
commercial LED lighting market by expanding
our product portfolio to provide additional HID
infrastructure conversion solutions. Our goal is
to deliver energy efficient, high performance
LED lighting that offers greater design flexibility
and convenience for our customers,”
said Lunera’s Vice President of Sales and
Marketing, Tom Quinn.

A vertically oriented, 50-watt LED Susan Lamp with an E26 medium base is included in the kit. It has a 50,000 hour (L70) lifespan, resulting in a long lifetime of providing consistently high quality LED light. As an ideal LED replacement for low bay applications, it eliminates over two costly lamp replacement cycles and reduces maintenance expense. The instant on Susan Lamp is offered in 3500K, 4000K or 5000K color temperatures and offers an optional 15 percent uplight, making it a brilliant LED lamp replacement for glass or acrylic HID fixtures. It may also be configured with a Fresnel lens, commonly used in parking garage installations for maximum illumination. The Susan Lamp is supported by a 5-year warranty.

The kit solution is UL 1598C Classified. It includes an industry leading Mean Well brand LED Driver (Model LPF-60-48) that can be used in lieu of the existing HID ballast and requires a simple conversion to accommodate an energy efficient Susan Lamp. Once the HID ballast has been replaced, there are no other modifications necessary to the fixture.

Lunera’s proprietary BallastLED™ technology enables the plug and play Susan Lamp to operate directly off of the existing HID ballast by simply replacing the lamp and/or the LED driver. The Susan Lamp also uses Lunera’s innovative MultiWatt technology, which enables it to replace a wide range of HID lamps/ballasts from 70-watts to 175-watts.

Where to Buy and Financing
Lunera’s LED lamp replacement products are available through authorized nationwide distributors. Financing options are available from Lunera. Utility rebates and the immediate energy savings gained through LED use can help offset upfront expenses for lighting retrofits. Contact Lunera to arrange a demonstration or to locate a distributor near you.
