Lunera Lighting Introduces SensAble Technology (ST) and ST Connect

Advanced daylight and occupancy sensors plus wireless networking have been
integrated into next generation plug and play lamps that can be connected to the cloud
and controlled through Apps.

Santa Clara, Calif., – March 31, 2016 – Lunera® Lighting, Inc., a leader in lighting innovations accelerating the transformation to advanced LED technology, today announced a new lighting and control technology platform called SensAble Technology™. This new platform integrates advanced Doppler radar occupancy sensors, IR daylight sensors, power usage monitoring and Zigbee wireless connectivity into Lunera’s next generation commercial Helen Lamp Linear T8, Helen Lamp PL and Susan Lamp HID plug and play LED lamp families.

The new Helen ST and Susan ST lamps, which automatically
respond to their environment when plugged in
(no commissioning required), will deliver up to 30 percent
more energy savings compared to standard LED lamps,
while eliminating the need for discrete sensors. Installation is
plug and play, adding value to your business at a fraction of
the cost of conventional lighting control systems.

“Our integration of SensAble Technology creates a powerful tool that enables building owners and operators to leverage their existing lighting infrastructure and the ubiquity of the common light socket to cost-effectively unleash the potential of an IoT Ecosystem. Adding a simple Control Hub to connect the wirelessly networked ST Lamps to the cloud and the ST Platform becomes the central nervous system of your building. As part of the ST Connect service, advanced analytics and Apps are available for mining of operational and environmental data to bring additional business value to your real estate portfolio,”
said Lunera’s Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Tom Quinn.

Lunera’s simple, non-disruptive approach to leveraging a building’s existing infrastructure to deploy a low cost network of advanced sensors solves a critical problem facing the creation of functioning IoT ecosystems in the commercial real estate market.

“There is a great deal of excitement about the IoT, big data, software analytics and SaaS business models becoming a reality for commercial buildings. However, nothing can happen until the data is captured and this requires an efficient, cost effective way of deploying a sensor network. Lunera’s SensAble Technology Platform and ST Connect ecosystem provide the catalyst needed to make IoT adoption happen rapidly,” said Lunera CEO, Doug Schendt.

St Connect™ – Moving ST Lamp Data and Analysis to the Cloud
Lunera’s Helen ST and Susan ST next generation lamps are enabled for ST Connect, the networking, control, cloud, and data service solution managed by Stack Labs, who partnered with Lunera on this breakthrough business solution.

“Stack Labs continues to push the IoT envelope by creating lighting control solutions that combine the best sensor technology with Cloud-based analytics software, to deliver on the promise of a truly energy efficient, intelligent facility,” said Neil Joseph, Founder and CEO of Stack. “Lunera’s plug and play portfolio of LED lamps combined with their impressive engineering capability has enabled us to innovate together to deliver a truly disruptive solution to the world of lighting controls.”

Taking daylight, occupancy and power usage data from ST Lamps, a Stack Enabled Control Hub will transmit the data through a LTE cellular modem to an ST Cloud account, managed by Stack Labs. Data analytics is accomplished through an evolving suite of Apps including remote monitoring, space utilization mapping and automated demand response, among others. An additional 25 percent energy savings is expected through ST Connect.

ST Solution Availability
Lunera will demonstrate the ST Platform at LIGHTFAIR, Booth #6820, April 25 – 28th at the San Diego Convention Center. ST Lamps are expected to be available in Q2 of this
year and ST Connect services will roll out in the third quarter. Contact Lunera to arrange a demonstration of SensAble Technology and ST Connect.

Financing Option
In February 2016, Lunera introduced LightStream™ Lighting as a Service. Through this service, Lunera manages the installation and maintenance of standard plug and play or ST lamps. The upfront cost of the lighting upgrade and ongoing service is paid through energy savings, making the lighting upgrade profitable from day one. For inquiries about LightStream, contact Lunera or visit www.lunera.com/lightstream.

Lunera Lighting’s Susan Lamp E26 LED Kit Converts High Intensity
Discharge Fixtures to Ultra Low Power LED Lighting

Santa Clara, Calif., – March 9, 2016 – Lunera® Lighting, Inc., a leader in lighting innovations accelerating the transformation to advanced LED technology, is pleased to introduce the Susan Lamp E26 LED Kit. Commercial facilities can now convert existing metal halide or high-pressure sodium fixtures into energy efficient, High Intensity Discharge (HID) LED lamp solutions. The kit contains a plug and play Susan Lamp and a high performance LED driver, to reduce power consumption to just 53-watts and address the differing requirements of various HID lighting fixture applications.

“Lunera continues its leadership in the
commercial LED lighting market by expanding
our product portfolio to provide additional HID
infrastructure conversion solutions. Our goal is
to deliver energy efficient, high performance
LED lighting that offers greater design flexibility
and convenience for our customers,”
said Lunera’s Vice President of Sales and
Marketing, Tom Quinn.

A vertically oriented, 50-watt LED Susan Lamp with an E26 medium base is included in the kit. It has a 50,000 hour (L70) lifespan, resulting in a long lifetime of providing consistently high quality LED light. As an ideal LED replacement for low bay applications, it eliminates over two costly lamp replacement cycles and reduces maintenance expense. The instant on Susan Lamp is offered in 3500K, 4000K or 5000K color temperatures and offers an optional 15 percent uplight, making it a brilliant LED lamp replacement for glass or acrylic HID fixtures. It may also be configured with a Fresnel lens, commonly used in parking garage installations for maximum illumination. The Susan Lamp is supported by a 5-year warranty.

The kit solution is UL 1598C Classified. It includes an industry leading Mean Well brand LED Driver (Model LPF-60-48) that can be used in lieu of the existing HID ballast and requires a simple conversion to accommodate an energy efficient Susan Lamp. Once the HID ballast has been replaced, there are no other modifications necessary to the fixture.

Lunera’s proprietary BallastLED™ technology enables the plug and play Susan Lamp to operate directly off of the existing HID ballast by simply replacing the lamp and/or the LED driver. The Susan Lamp also uses Lunera’s innovative MultiWatt technology, which enables it to replace a wide range of HID lamps/ballasts from 70-watts to 175-watts.

Where to Buy and Financing
Lunera’s LED lamp replacement products are available through authorized nationwide distributors. Financing options are available from Lunera. Utility rebates and the immediate energy savings gained through LED use can help offset upfront expenses for lighting retrofits. Contact Lunera to arrange a demonstration or to locate a distributor near you.
