The acquisition is part of a broader strategy by ParkWhiz aimed at solving the last mile of connected and autonomous mobility.

ParkWhiz is a highly innovative company that is consistently one step ahead. We are excited to integrate  our technology into their Platform, and to work with our industry partners to make parking a more connected and efficient experience for everyone,” said Tavor Ilan, co-founder and CEO of CodiPark.

PARKCLOUD’S SCOT THE PARKING SOLUTION FOR EDINBURGH AIRPORT PASSENGERS

May 29, 2018

PARKCLOUD’S SCOT THE PARKING SOLUTION FOR EDINBURGH AIRPORT PASSENGERS

European online parking reservation leader, ParkCloud, has agreed a significant contract with Scotland’s busiest and the UK’s 6th busiest airport, Edinburgh.

The agreement will enable ParkCloud to offer its just over 3 million users the option of reserving their parking across all of Edinburgh Airport’s car park products.

With a range of options to suit all travel needs, drivers parking up at the airport will be able to choose from long stay, long stay express*, mid stay, terminal surface, valet parking, multi-storey with fastTRACK, along with the airport’s official off-site car park – Plane Parking. ParkCloud will also be able to offer its customers flexible and non-flexible parking options across long stay, long stay express* and terminal surface parking products.

The long stay car park offers fully secure parking, with 24-hour car park attendants and a courtesy coach service which operates between the car park and the terminal. With the same secure environment, mid stay car park customers can easily park up and walk over to check-in or security in approximately five minutes.

Passengers who would like to park closer to the action, can choose the equally secure terminal surface car park or valet parking. The terminal surface car park is situated just outside the terminal building and is a convenient two-minute walk to check-in. For that hassle-free gateway, drivers can choose to drop their keys at the valet parking area at the terminal and return to find their vehicle waiting following their inbound flight.

For drivers looking to save on their parking, Edinburgh Airport offers a fully secure budget car park option – Plane Parking – which is a five-minute walk to the shuttle bus, followed by a 5-10 minute ride to the terminal building.

Expanding on its ancillary service offering, ParkCloud will also be extending the option of security fastTRACK for passengers reserving their parking through Edinburgh Airport’s multi-storey car park. Up to 5 people per booking can use the fastTRACK Bridge on level 2 of the multi-storey car park, which takes passengers straight into the airport’s security hall.

Edinburgh Airport is Scotland’s busiest airport with 13.4 million people passing through the terminal in 2017 – a record for any Scottish airport. It has seen significant growth over the last 12 months, with the launch of 22 new routes – 21 of which are to international destinations – alongside the recent news that it has overtaken Heathrow Airport for number of domestic airline passengers[1].

Speaking about the partnership, Alec Hodgson, Head of Digital & Parking at Edinburgh Airport, said: “We have created a set of car parking products that lend themselves perfectly to the differing needs of our diverse passenger traffic.

“As passenger numbers continue to rise and demand for pre-planned itineraries grows, it’s vital that we support our existing services and work with partners, such as ParkCloud, to assist us in promoting our products to current and potential online customers.”

To find out more about ParkCloud, please visit www.parkcloud.com.

* Long stay express car park will be bookable from the 01/07/18.

About ParkCloud

ParkCloud, simply put, lets drivers book a parking space in advance, in the same way as it’s possible to do with hotel rooms, restaurant tables…and even a coffee these days.

When travelling, parking is usually the last thing on anybody’s mind, but research shows that as much as 20 minutes is wasted when searching for a parking space. ParkCloud aims to solve that problem by letting customers make a parking booking, whether they are getting on a plane, taking a cruise, catching a train, or visiting a city or event.

ParkCloud was founded in 2008 as an online parking reservation service and within the 10 years we’ve been operating our success and growth has been rapid.

Today we are an award-winning, global provider, working with car park operators across 42 countries to include them on our comparison search engine, which aims to give consumers the most user friendly, efficient service possible when they need it most.

This bookable parking network is also made available to travel industry partners to help complete the itineraries of passengers worldwide.
