Ocra Announces Oversubscribed $3.5M Fundraise Led By Parker Technology & MCR Hotels

Today Ocra announces its successful raise of $3.5 million in strategic capital in an oversubscribed round led by Parker Technology, a leading technology-led services company in the parking industry, and MCR Hotels, the third largest hotel owner-operator in the United States.

Other strategic partners contributing to the round include Callahan Family Office, HB Companies, Helene Ventures, Long Run Capital, Sunstone Management, and more.

Originally targeted at $3 million, this oversubscribed round reflects a strong vote of confidence in the company’s vision, team, and technology.

It represents alignment from strategic investors on the team’s mission to build the API layer that connects siloed technologies to the outcomes of centralized operations and substantial revenue growth for parking operators and parking asset owners across all sectors of the industry.

“Every dollar of capital we raise is in the spirit of staying vendor-neutral and supports our vision of being the API layer of this industry,” says Ethan Glass, CEO & Co-Founder of Ocra. “This round creates alignment between our company and other industry leaders, as every investor adds tremendous value beyond the capital.”

This infusion of capital plays a crucial role in driving innovation across product lines and enriching Ocra’s centralized demand channel management platform with new features and integrations.

It also allows the company to double down on its core competencies of demand channel expertise and data-driven revenue optimization for parking assets as offered through its managed services model: Ocra CoPilot.

Additionally, this round supports the continued recruitment of top talent for Engineering, Operations, and Revenue who elevate Ocra’s service level and produce even stronger revenue outcomes for its partners.

Parker Technology + Ocra Announce Strategic Alliance and Introduce Partner API

Indianapolis, IN (March 6, 2023)— Parker Technology and Ocra officially announce a strategic alliance and introduce their innovative partner API to solve on-site friction for customers using third-party reservation platforms. This alliance enables the two companies to maintain their vendor-neutral positions in the market, unlocking opportunities for Parker Technology and Ocra to work together to propel and accelerate growth through their existing relationships.

During the formation of this partnership, Parker Technology and Ocra mutually identified the need for an integration that surfaces essential transaction data for customers who push the call button with reservation-related issues. The result is the partner API, which runs on Ocra’s rails and enables Parker Technology to access the exact information needed in that moment to help the customer enter or exit the facility most efficiently.

The partner API benefits parking operators and technology companies who can now use Ocra’s network of complex custom integrations with customer demand channels, like third-party reservation platforms, to resolve in-lane friction and deliver a better customer experience.

“Ethan and his impressive team have built a company with a compelling vision to help parking operators solve problems caused by the proliferation of technology. I couldn’t be more excited to join his board and help the company achieve that vision. This strategic alliance is a perfect example of the whole being greater than the sum of the parts and our customers will instantly appreciate the value our two companies create together,” said Brian Wolff, President & CEO of Parker Technology.

“We are hyper-selective on raising investment, as the most important factor for us is value added beyond the capital itself,” says Ethan Glass, Chief Executive Officer & Co-Founder of Ocra. “We are fortunate to have a multitude of funding opportunities and are inspired by Parker Technology’s vision as our lead investor, which is force-multiplied by the other very notable investors joining our round. Brian and his team also believe that a rising tide lifts all ships. There is a great deal of synergy between our two companies in terms of being Switzerland and our commitment to mutually beneficial partnerships.”

By removing friction for parkers experiencing redemption and access issues with third-party reservations, Parker Technology and Ocra solve an industry-wide problem and create connectivity between multiple technologies for win-win-win outcomes for customers, operators, and technology companies.

Ocra Launches New Future-Proofed Version of Its Centralized Management Platform for Parking Operators

In response to insatiable demand, Ocra introduces a full bottom-up rebuild of its revolutionary platform for managing rates, inventory, blackouts, and reporting across multiple customer demand channels.

LOS ANGELES—-Today Ocra announces Version 2.0 of the industry’s first centralized management platform for parking operators. This new modular version of the platform is a full bottom-up rebuild and the result of insatiable demand from operators for a solution to manage rates, inventory, blackouts, and reporting across all of their customer demand channels, all in one place. Version 2.0 is a purely agnostic B2B SaaS platform that is free of tech debt, future-proofed, and paving the way for scalable technology in the parking industry.

“Everything we build at Ocra is thoroughly ideated, tested, and deployed in collaboration with parking operators. We tackle each decision with the question ‘What problem are we solving?’”

Ocra Version 2.0 was reimagined by Ocra’s enhanced leadership and engineering teams through in-depth market research and customer discovery. Through thousands of conversations with parking industry experts, Ocra uncovered a ubiquitous problem: industry fragmentation. Based on their experiences as former event parking operators who faced challenges with managing multiple customer demand channels at scale, Ocra built a minimum viable product to validate not just the problem, but the solution for it. Over the next two years, the Ocra team continued to identify problems and solutions. Version 2.0 is the cumulation of these learnings and built on a solid foundation for scalability, utilizing a cutting-edge tech stack.

The infrastructure of Version 2.0 is modular and flexible and informed by the understanding that the parking industry requires flexibility and connectivity between various technologies that have existed for years. The outcome of this connectivity is parking operators being able to leverage these technologies to the desired outcomes of data monetization, maximum yield, and peak operational efficiency.

“Everything we build at Ocra is thoroughly ideated, tested, and deployed in collaboration with parking operators. We tackle each decision with the question ‘What problem are we solving?’” says Ethan Glass, CEO and Co-Founder at Ocra. “However, as we continued to iterate and grow the original platform, we encountered the very best problem possible: there was insatiable demand for our solution and we simply could not scale quick enough to supply for that demand. This helped us make the decision to invest in a full bottom-up rebuild for what we are calling Version 2.0.”

Glass continues: “This rebuild encompasses all that we have learned thus far and has a strong foundation with a very wide base to enable us to build faster integrations and features while providing the ability to iterate at unprecedented speed. This was made possible by raising a round of funding in 2021 and diligently hiring parking technology experts along with seasoned engineers. As the parking industry continues to advance, Ocra will lead the way in data, integrations, and connectivity.”

Ocra’s platform, the first of its kind in the parking industry, enables operators to centrally perform all of the tasks required to market and sell inventory through multiple customer demand channels. Version 2.0 introduces the next generation of solutions for Universal Inventory, One-Click Rate Management, Blackout Control, Consolidated Reporting, and Advanced Permissioning.

Also new in Version 2.0, in response to escalating demand, is Ocra’s API offering for non-parking operators. Technology companies that want to enhance their offerings can take advantage of Ocra’s suite of flexible APIs to embed the entire Ocra platform or specific solutions. Ocra can now send and surface data in any format that a third party requires while empowering them to control Ocra’s features directly within their own technologies.

The Ocra platform is available on a subscription basis for the full suite or through an à la carte model based on client needs. To learn more about Ocra’s platform and recent corporate developments, visit getocra.com or contact Ethan Glass, CEO & Co-founder, at info@getocra.com.
