ITALO STAYS ON BOARD WITH PARKCLOUD FOR CONTRACT RENEWAL

European online parking reservation leader, ParkCloud, has today announced a contract renewal with Italian high-speed rail network, Italo, following a successful first year in partnership.

The renewal is a nod to ParkCloud’s ongoing commitment to growing its extensive car park coverage across the Italian market, as well as maintaining booking growth across the 25 rail stations Italo covers.

Affiliated exclusively through the Italotreno Parking white label, customers can benefit from the convenience of browsing and comparing features online before booking their parking reservation alongside their travel.

Francesco Fiore, Chief of Quality & Industrial Product Development at Italo, commented: “We wanted to give our passengers more flexibility to pre-plan different elements of their journey, and the wide offering of car park coverage ParkCloud has across the Italian rail market has given us the means to do just that.

“Italo’s service centres on a comfortable, convenient travel experience and presenting passengers with the option to reserve their station parking online complements this well.”

Working collectively over the contract period with the Italo team, ParkCloud has ensured a streamlined, fast and efficient booking process for passengers, to dovetail with Italo’s four levels of ‘journey ambiences’ – smart, comfort, prima and club executive, as they travel between its well connected lines.

ParkCloud’s Brand Partnership Manager, Nicola Pilling, said: “The white label platform offers Italo passengers a more succinct travel itinerary, complete with various touchpoints and language options, allowing for a more enjoyable overall journey.

“Behind the scenes, it’s important that our brand partners feel we strengthen the services they offer and add real value to customers, which is why we’re thrilled to be continuing our collaboration with Italo.”

Servicing over 20 cities across Italy, Italo’s routes cover popular visitor destinations such as Rome, Milan, Venice and Florence.

PARKCLOUD AND Q-PARK LEAD UK PARK(ING) DAY CELEBRATIONS

September 26, 2018

PARKCLOUD AND Q-PARK LEAD UK PARK(ING) DAY CELEBRATIONS

Leading online parking reservation leader, ParkCloud, and European parking operator, Q-Park, are celebrating their success as two of the UK’s leading pioneers of the PARK(ing) Day initiative, following the culmination of their successful CSR project.

Having utilised their respective influences within the industry to create an initiative that allowed art students from Greater Manchester to get creative with parking, both companies came together on Friday (PARK(ing) Day itself) to host the finale of their highly anticipated art competition.

Hosted in Q-Park’s First Street car park, 10 shortlisted students from colleges and schools around the region battled it out over six hours to recreate their original artworks in the unique setting of a parking space.

Winner, Saskia Gentile, an art student from Cheadle & Marple College, impressed the expert judging panel with her colour tribute to the Manchester worker bee, which symbolised the creativity and individuality of Mancunians.

Judges, David French, Director of AWOL Studios, professional graffiti artist kELzO, Parking Review Editor, Mark Moran, Q-Park’s Tom Petch and ParkCloud’s Commercial Director, Valentina Moise all noted Saskia’s intricate colour work in their scoring – impressed with how she had applied blended colour to portray personal charity links and signify key elements of the city’s culture within the confines of a parking space.

The grand prize of a £500 contribution towards the winning student’s further education, will enable Saskia to progress with her passion for art and graphic design post-Sixth Form College.

Mark Pegler, Managing Director of ParkCloud, said: “ParkCloud has always been extremely proud to champion the PARK(ing) Day initiative, with this year’s project really going that extra mile, with the help of Q-Park, to highlight the premise of creatively revamping urban parking areas.

“Not only have we able to offer valued support to organisations and schools within our community, we have also been able to facilitate a project we can evolve year-on-year – enabling us to grow the reach and impact of the overall initiative.”

The winning artwork will now be displayed in Q-Park’s car park for all drivers and visitors to see.

Originating from San Francisco in 2006, the drive behind PARK(ing) Day – which is celebrated annually on the third Friday of September – derives from the need for more open, creative space within urban areas; with ‘parklets’ now popping up in cities all over the world each year in a salute to creativity.

PARIS-BEAUVAIS AIRPORT RETAINS PARKCLOUD TO ENSURE ‘BON VOYAGE’ FOR DRIVERS

September 06, 2018

PARIS-BEAUVAIS AIRPORT RETAINS PARKCLOUD TO ENSURE ‘BON VOYAGE’ FOR DRIVERS

European online parking reservation leader, ParkCloud, has renewed its long-standing contract with popular French international airport, Paris-Beauvais Airport.

Having worked in partnership with the airport for over four years, ParkCloud will continue to offer its passengers the option of pre-booking their parking at all three of Beauvais’ on-site car parks.

To cater for its 3.6 million annual passengers, Paris-Beauvais Airport has two short-term car parks – P1 and P2 – which are both open air, CCTV operated and fully secure for drivers’ peace of mind. For travellers jetting off for extended periods, P4 is able to offer a cost effective long-stay alternative, just a short distance from the terminal buildings.

All parking options will continue to be directly marketed to airport passengers through ParkCloud’s existing database of more than three million registered users and alongside its existing partnerships with Blue Air, Wizz Air and Ryanair.

The renewal arrives on the back of Paris-Beauvais Airport’s decision to add P1 and P2 to ParkCloud’s global database, following strong booking numbers for P4 in its initial agreement.

As one of the three international airports serving France’s capital, Paris-Beauvais is a popular and smart gateway for tourists jetting off across Europe and beyond.

Mark Pegler, Managing Director of ParkCloud, said: “With direct road networks connecting the airport to the city of Paris, parking is a necessity for many travellers flying out of Paris-Beauvais, so pre-booking parking alongside their flight and other travel extras presents a convenient one-stop solution for travellers.

“It’s our experience that airports are increasingly looking to address this consumer need to pre-plan and manage the journey process effectively, therefore it’s great to continue building upon partnerships with airports such as Paris-Beauvais to deliver just that for our shared customer-base.”

It has recently been reported that France is on track to stay ‘champion of the world in tourism’, as it’s confirmed that the tourism industry grew in the first half of 2018 and had a record 20171.

ParkCloud currently holds official car park contracts with three of France’s top 10 airports – Lyon–Saint Exupéry, Nice Côte d’Azur and Paris-Beauvais.

ParkCloud is currently nominated for Best Airport Parking Operator in the British Travel Awards. To vote, please click here.

European online parking reservation leader, ParkCloud, has continued its impressive global expansion with the announcement of key 2018 successes to date.

Following a strong start to its 10th year in the industry, ParkCloud has added 100 car parks across 12 countries to its parking portfolio, further bolstering its online network for over 3 million users.

As the European leader in its field, key wins for the online aggregator hail from Germany – which include new locations Hannover and Bremen, Spain – with new activations across major airport sites Barcelona, Alicante and Ibiza, and the U.K – with new car parks from Edinburgh to Exeter.

Italy has also seen an impressive rate of growth, with activations across all parking products. Most notably, a recent renewal with Italy’s primary rail operator, Trenitalia (Gruppo FS Italiane) and a significant partnership with Italy’s 4th largest airport – Venice Marco Polo. Following this win, ParkCloud now boasts on-site parking partnerships with all the top six Italian airports1.

Away from its key market successes, ParkCloud has also strengthened its presence across Finland, Austria, Turkey and South Africa, as well as adding the official airport car parks at Greece’s Thessaloniki Airport and Kavala Airport.

As its ancillary service offering continues to grow, customers reserving their parking through ParkCloud can now also book their FastTrack and lounge passes at an additional number of popular airport locations – including Nice, Frankfurt and Belfast International.

ParkCloud’s Managing Director, Mark Pegler, said: “As a leader in our respective industry, it’s vital that we’re continuously driving innovation through new technologies and ultimately providing our customers with more freedom to choose the travel options that are right for them.

Mark Pegler CEO of ParkCloud

“As the travel market continues to flourish, with more and more people embracing digital booking channels, we’re well positioned to continue our rate of growth and anticipate the addition of several new markets.”

PARKCLOUD JOINS FORCES WITH Q-PARK TO CHAMPION PARK(ING) DAY INITIATIVE

August 13, 2018

PARKCLOUD JOINS FORCES WITH Q-PARK TO CHAMPION PARK(ING) DAY INITIATIVE

Leading online parking reservation provider, ParkCloud, has partnered with European parking operator, Q-Park, to champion creativity through parking as part of international event – PARK(ing) Day.

Driving one of the leading projects in the UK, both ParkCloud and Q-Park decided to use their respective influence in the industry to pioneer a CSR initiative that showcases young artistic talent, giving students the opportunity to experience live briefs that take them away from the context of the classroom.

Students from a number of schools and colleges across Greater Manchester in the UK have signed up to take part in this year’s project, which will see them create a painted concept around the theme of ‘Manchester and urban mobility’ in the setting of a parking space.

Following a first round of entries from each participating school and college, each artwork will be reviewed by a panel of judges – which includes the iconic street artist behind many Manchester street murals, Russell Meehan, aka Qubek. Once a shortlist has been agreed, each student will be invited to recreate their designs at the grand finale, which will take place on PARK(ing) Day itself (21st September) at Q-Park’s First Street car park in Manchester city centre.

Under the watchful eye of the judging panel, the students will battle it out to win the main prize – £500 contribution towards their further education, a tech prize bundle and winner’s certificate. There is also an additional £250 prize up for grabs for the winning art department.

Originating from San Francisco in 2006, the drive behind PARK(ing) Day – which is celebrated annually on the third Friday of September – derives from the need for more open, creative space within urban areas; with ‘parklets’ now appearing in cities all over the world each year in a salute to creativity.

Mark Pegler, Managing Director at ParkCloud, said: “Working within the parking industry, we can appreciate how many dimensions there are to the parking experience that many people do not consider on a day-to-day basis. Bringing a project such as this to life, with the help of our partners over at Q-Park, brings new context to parking and helps create thought-provoking conversations around urban mobility within our communities.”

John Denton, Head of Sales & Marketing at Q-Park, commented: “Built-up, urban city centres rarely offer the opportunity for the community to get involved with creatively revamping public spaces – especially for local students – so we’re extremely pleased to be championing PARK(ing) Day alongside ParkCloud in Manchester this year.”

Two of the volunteer colleges have already completed their first round of artworks, as they now wait in anticipation for the rest of the school and college entries to be completed ahead of the shortlist announcement in September.

Following the final paint, ParkCloud – which is currently nominated for Best Airport Parking Operator in the British Travel Awards – will be hosting an exclusive event to celebrate the culmination of the PARK(ing) Day project and its own 10-year anniversary.

PARKCLOUD EXPANDS SHAREHOLDER BASE AS IT BOLSTERS GROWTH PLANS

July 20, 2018

PARKCLOUD EXPANDS SHAREHOLDER BASE AS IT BOLSTERS GROWTH PLANS

Following a successful decade in business, ParkCloud has solidified its position as a market leading parking reservation provider, with a significant announcement today regarding the company’s future growth plans.

ParkCloud will be expanding its shareholder base with investment partner, Mercia Fund Managers, allowing the company to move forward with a new ownership structure.

Mercia Fund Managers’ equity stake, which has been invested through funding from its £45.1million EV Growth II Fund, will enable co-founders Joe Kennedy and Mark Pointon to step down, and founder and current Managing Director Mark Pegler to focus on the continued growth of the company as majority shareholder.

Commenting on ParkCloud’s new commercial structure, Mark Pegler, said:

“This year we celebrate ParkCloud’s 10th birthday, over which time we’ve established the ParkCloud brand and created a significant presence in a wide spectrum of markets: this coincides well with what will be a step change for the company, as we enter our second decade. Having Mercia Fund Managers on board for the next exciting phase of our business is really going to help accelerate our growth.

“First and foremost, we remain dedicated to our team, customers and suppliers, with our new structure supporting our plans to explore new technologies, further enhancing the booking journey for our global network.”

Wayne Thomas, who leads the EV Growth team, said:

“ParkCloud is the leading independent aggregator of its type and stands out within the industry due to its size and international reach. The business is well-positioned within the expanding travel market and has the potential for much further growth. This investment will allow Mark to pursue his growth strategy. We look forward to working with him as he continues to build the business.”

ParkCloud was established in 2008, and to date, is an award-winning, online parking reservation provider working with car park operators and brand partners across 42 countries.

PARKCLOUD’S GENERAL MANAGER JOINS ITALIAN PARKING ASSOCIATION BOARD

July 16, 2018

PARKCLOUD’S GENERAL MANAGER JOINS ITALIAN PARKING ASSOCIATION BOARD

European online parking reservation leader,  ParkCloud, has today announced that its General Manager, Valentina Moise, has been appointed to the board of the Italian Parking Association – AiPark.

Native to Italy, Valentina joins 13 other members to make up the board of councillors, which consists of representatives from both Italian car park operators and suppliers to the industry.

Following an initial nomination, Valentina attended AiPark’s annual meeting, which this year presided at the culmination of its Pdays event, where one of the agenda points was to vote in the new board.

With just nine places to fill from a possible 20 nominations – and Valentina the only woman represented amongst the nominees – each potential member gave a presentation to the existing board to demonstrate their competences for the role.

As a newly nominated member of the board, Valentina – along with the other members – will oversee the association’s budgets and strategies, as well as tackle issues that face the sector and promote initiatives aimed at developing the parking industry.

Having been with ParkCloud – which is currently nominated for Best Airport Parking Operator in the British Travel Awards – for over seven years, Valentina has been integral to the company’s expansion and development, with her background in anthropology and teaching proving invaluable to furthering the company’s international coverage.

Speaking about her appointment, Valentina Moise of ParkCloud, said: “I am honoured to be appointed onto AiPark’s board, following tough competition from a strong list of nominees.

“Working within a fast-paced, online company like ParkCloud has given me a great insight into how our industry is evolving and the issues we’re likely to face in the near future, and I’m looking forward to sharing my knowledge and experiences with the AiPark board and its members.”

No stranger to industry recognition, in 2015 Valentina was named as one of the National Parking Association’s (NPA) 40 Under 40; an award that recognises the contribution of younger parking professionals to an industry that is being driven by innovation and new ideas.

European online parking reservation leader, ParkCloud, has agreed a new three-year deal with existing aviation brand partner, Primera Air, as the low-cost airline marks the recent launch of its landmark long-haul routes.

Having enjoyed a successful five-year partnership, ParkCloud will continue to support the Nordic airline’s expansion with a newly developed white label, affiliated exclusively via primeraair.parkcloud.com/en-GB.

With the introduction of new short and long-haul routes, the enhanced reservation platform will allow users to search, browse and book parking alongside their flights at a number of destinations worldwide – including Newark, Boston, Stockholm and La Palma.

Customers will also be able to compare individual car park features, prices and consumer reviews via the platform’s intuitive search engine capabilities.

ParkCloud’s expertise in developing and marketing online channels to boost the visibility and reach of its partners’ parking offers, enables ease of access for a global network of customers looking for a simple yet reliable booking service.

Mark Pegler, Managing Director at ParkCloud, said: “As Primera Air explores new destinations and routes to bring more diversity to its customers, it is imperative that it can rely on partner support services to guarantee passenger satisfaction.

“As we work collectively to manage increased parking demand, we’re assured that our renewed partnership will continue to be a lucrative one and we look forward to its growth potential in the near future.”

With a new fleet of Boeing 737 MAX9-ER aircraft, Primera’s transatlantic flights to the USA and Canada will run from London Stansted, Birmingham and Paris Charles de Gaulle  with the low-cost carrier currently the only commercial airline serving North America from Stansted.

PARKCLOUD DOES THE DOUBLE IN GREEK EXPANSION

European online parking reservation leader, ParkCloud, has extended its presence across the Greek market by announcing the addition of Thessaloniki Airport and Kavala Airport to its extensive online network.

Thanks to the recent collaboration, passengers flying from Greece’s third largest airport – Thessaloniki Airport (SKG) – will now be able to reserve their parking through ParkCloud across a number of the airport’s parking products.

With long-stay options P6, P7 and P8 comprising 750, 450 and 399 parking spaces respectively, passengers parking up at the airport will have abundance of choice when pre-booking the parking option that best suits their travel needs.

For the added convenience of passengers, each car park is CCTV operated, open 24 hours and conveniently situated just a short walk from the terminal building.

In addition, passengers flying from Kavala Airport (KVA) – gateway to some of Greece’s most important archaeological landmarks – will now be able to reserve a parking spot at the airport’s P1 car park through ParkCloud’s global database. Consisting of 197 parking spaces, P1 is situated close to the terminal, offering passengers a safe, direct route to check-in.

Kavala Airport is currently investing in a notable €10m expansion and upgrade of its existing terminal, which includes the installation of a state-or-the-art baggage handling system that will see the airport significantly expand its capacity for passenger intake.

Mark Pegler, Managing Director at ParkCloud, said: “Southern Europe has always been a strong market for us, with demand for reserved parking in countries such as Italy and Spain increasing year-on-year.

“As demand across Greece also gains pace, it’s an exciting time to be establishing partnerships with like-minded operators and expanding our network throughout the country.”

Thessaloniki and Kavala Airport join Heraklion Airport as part of ParkCloud’s official Greek airport partner network.

About ParkCloud

ParkCloud, simply put, lets drivers book a parking space in advance, in the same way as it’s possible to do with hotel rooms, restaurant tables…and even a coffee these days.

When travelling, parking is usually the last thing on anybody’s mind, but research shows that as much as 20 minutes is wasted when searching for a parking space. ParkCloud aims to solve that problem by letting customers make a parking booking, whether they are getting on a plane, taking a cruise, catching a train, or visiting a city or event.

ParkCloud was founded in 2008 as an online parking reservation service and within the 10 years we’ve been operating our success and growth has been rapid.

Today we are an award-winning, global provider, working with car park operators across 42 countries to include them on our comparison search engine, which aims to give consumers the most user friendly, efficient service possible when they need it most.

This bookable parking network is also made available to travel industry partners to help complete the itineraries of passengers worldwide.
