How LAFC Leverages ParkHub to Streamline Fan Arrival, Powered by Ticketmaster and Other Technology Partners

How LAFC Leverages ParkHub to Streamline Fan Arrival, Powered by Ticketmaster and Other Technology Partners

The connected and complementary technologies provide a seamless entry experience at Banc of California Stadium

A host of technologies promise to boost fan experience; fewer can claim to be team players. When Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC) sought to enhance parking operations at Banc of California Stadium, the tech-forward MLS team turned to ParkHub. ParkHub’s technology improves the parking experience while connecting with partnering technologies at customer touchpoints along the way. The result: a streamlined fan journey that can travel from a smartphone to the stadium.

ParkHub integrates with numerous parking and ticketing providers to ease entry for fans who purchased parking in advance of an event. Ticketmaster, the official ticketing partner for all of LAFC’s ticketing and venue technology needs, is a certified ParkHub partner and connects to the platform in real time, so that fans who prepaid for parking can enter Banc of California Stadium quickly and easily.

Additional options for prepaid parking are supplied by Arrive, the exclusive parking presale partner for Ticketmaster in the United States and one of the platform partners that integrates with ParkHub technology. With Arrive, LAFC is able to leverage parking inventory from lots surrounding Banc of California stadium. Arrive recently partnered with Waze to produce a trip-planning feature called “GamePlan,” to help fans get to their seats on time and alleviate traffic and congestion around venues.

As LAFC fans arrive on site, ParkHub’s mobile point-of-sale Prime scans and validates parking passes purchased through Ticketmaster and Arrive. Prime also processes payments, offering fans options to pay by credit card or mobile payment, and digitizing cash transactions. All transactions are sent to Portal, ParkHub’s business intelligence system, which provides revenue and inventory data in real time.

With data collated during the event, Portal produces clear, actionable reports which ease end-of-shift reconciliation. LAFC will soon be privy to the newest addition to ParkHub’s product suite, Analytics, which will allow venue management to drill down to more robust KPIs and segmented data, including customer acquisition and arrival, staff performance, and VIP attendance.

Once fans are parked they are able to enter the stadium by scanning tickets purchased via Ticketmaster on SKIDATA access readers. The digital passes use NFC Contactless technology with the iPhone and Apple Watch. Additionally, SKIDATA’s PARCS equipment is used as an access control system for employee parking at times when an event is not taking place. When the event starts, a ParkHub-equipped attendant takes over at the gate.

Meanwhile, LAFC’s Fan Engagement and Insights platform, LAVA, connects to ParkHub’s transactional API. LAFC is one of the first venues to use ParkHub in conjunction with LAVA’s platform, and ParkHub provides parking data such as arrival time, ingress speed and volume, and revenue to support a broad view of the venue’s activity.

As a result of introducing ParkHub at Banc of California Stadium, LAFC has reported increased parking revenue with the ability to sell prepaid parking passes, increased concession revenue, and faster ingress. Customer satisfaction has increased as well, with survey results showing that previous parking issues had been resolved.

“ParkHub has sent customer satisfaction to a whole new level, reduced friction on event days in our parking lots and increased revenue substantially at concessions and retail,” said LAFC’s VP Information Technology, Christian Lau.

“LAFC’s forward-thinking operations prove a drive to incorporate new technology, an ability to strategically develop an ecosystem of complementary partnerships, and above all, a true dedication to their fans” said ParkHub founder and CEO, George Baker Sr.We purposefully built our technology to avoid becoming a siloed entity, and we’re proud to be part of their team.”

As consistently early adopters of fan-friendly venue technology, Banc of California Stadium was Los Angeles’ first sports facility to employ Ticketmaster Presence, the company’s venue access control and fan engagement platform, and will soon offer Ticketmaster’s new fraud-eliminating encrypted ticketing product, SafeTix™.

SafeTix is Ticketmaster’s latest enhancement to Presence that leverages new anti-counterfeit technology that ties a unique, identifiable digital ticket to each fan’s mobile phone through an encrypted barcode that automatically refreshes every few seconds. The tickets also include NFC technology that will allow fans to enter venues through a simple “tap and go” experience at venue entrances.

Each time a ticket is transferred or sold, a new digital ticket is tied to the recipient’s account and phone, which provides complete visibility into the chain of custody of each ticket issued. As a result, SafeTix will give event owners much greater visibility into the individual fans who come to a live event, in addition to the original ticket purchaser.

Parked in Six Seconds – How SP+ GAMEDAY Leveraged ParkHub to Help Fans Find a Spot at the Big Game

The national parking powerhouse utilized ParkHub’s leading technology to aid the fans’ arrival for a fourth consecutive year

DALLAS, TX. –  70,081 fans, 2,491 cars, 39 limos, 36 buses. An often-overlooked feat of skill and strategy takes place just before the Big Game begins – and it happens in stadium parking lots. For the fourth consecutive year, SP+ GAMEDAY selected ParkHub, the leading B2B parking technology provider, to support their parking operations team in servicing the ultimate showdown in football. The results are in: at the peak time of traffic, parking payments and passes were processed in less than six seconds and fans were happily on their way.

The challenges parking operators face handling a large volume of traffic are numerous: lot occupancy tracking, potential overflow, cash slippage, and managing thousands of credit card transactions and prepaid passes – to name a few. The goal: to make parking so slick and easy, fans don’t think about parking challenges at all.

SP+ GAMEDAY, the event and venue-focused division of SP+, has staffed, managed, and serviced over 90 venues and major events around the world, including the Olympic Games, the NCAA Final Four Tournament, and of course, the Big Game.

The company uses ParkHub’s mobile point-of-sale device, Prime, to accept payments and authenticate prepaid passes in real time, while ParkHub’s business intelligence platform, Portal, reports real-time data to the parking managers of the stadium, giving them the ability to track each transaction in every lot down to the specific parking attendant.

“Working with ParkHub and their dashboard allowed us to communicate information to our clients in real time,” reports SP+ Gameday VP, Cristine Paull.

With streamlined operations and real-time insight, ParkHub helps parking professionals improve customer service and drive revenue. ParkHub’s customers include premier professional sports and entertainment venues, and the company manages over 1.4 million parking spots and has parked over 18 million vehicles to date.

“It’sgreat to work with SP+ GAMEDAY year on year and see their team maximize our platform to ensure seamless operations,” said Jessica Leichty, ParkHub’s Senior Operations Manager. “We are proud to be part of the service they deliver to the fans.”

Stats from this year’s game:

  • Kickoff time: 5:30 pm
  • Number of devices: 100
  • Number of lots: 28
  • First vehicle: 2:33 am CST
  • Last vehicle: 6:19 pm CST

ParkHub named Official Parking Partner of AT&T STADIUM

ParkHub’s platform continues to make parking easier for venue operators and their guests

DALLAS, TX, October 3, 2016 – ParkHub was recently named the Official Parking Partner of AT&T Stadium.  George Baker Sr., Founder & CEO of ParkHub and 20-year veteran in the parking industry, said, “Growing up in Dallas, and a longtime Cowboys fan, it is an honor to be a vendor, and now an official partner, with the most visible sports stadium in the world.  The Cowboys, through their partnership with AT&T, have shown they will continue to utilize technology to create a world-class fan experience.  Our partnership does that for the parking industry, which is why this relationship is a natural fit.”

ParkHub has transformed the industry with its handheld point-of-sale cashier system, called Prime, which is powered by AT&T.  The system used at AT&T Stadium allows fans to pay at the parking entrance with a credit card, or purchase their parking ticket in advance through Ticketmaster.  These two options were not available prior to ParkHub’s initial involvement at AT&T Stadium.  Jud Heflin, Director of Planning & Logistics at AT&T Stadium said, “I believe our fans are very pleased knowing they can now pay with credit cards instead of cash, and they recognize the impact this has had on our overall parking experience.  It is a “win” for all those involved: the stadium, fans, and parking attendants.”

In addition, ParkHub’s system allows parking managers to be efficient, responsive, and organized.  All transaction times, revenue, inventory, and customer data is being collected in Portal, their proprietary dashboard, in real-time.  This industry break-through technology creates visibility for parking managers to make instantaneous decisions on where to deploy resources to expedite the process.  At AT&T Stadium, the average transaction time is up to seven times faster because of a combination of all of these features. Moreover, AT&T Stadium will be able to offer guests the ability to pay for their parking using near field communication (NFC) starting with the 2016 football season. AT&T Stadium will be the first Tier 1 venue in the United States to do so.

Jerry Jones Jr., Dallas Cowboys Executive Vice President and Chief Sales & Marketing Officer, summarized the new partnership with ParkHub.  “As one of the most recognized sports venues in the world, AT&T Stadium places a premium on smooth traffic flow and quality services provided to our fans. ParkHub’s parking management has dramatically improved our fans’ arrival into the parking lots and improved our internal controls and operational efficiency around the parking process.  ParkHub’s team goes above and beyond to provide a better overall event-day experience for all visitors to AT&T Stadium as well as assisting our operations team in overall parking management.”

We look forward to working together to take this added benefit to other venues.”
VenueNext’s technology platform improves guest experiences and maximizes venue profitability by giving venue operators access to information that’s never been possible before. Parking for the Big Game Sped up by Innovative Parking Platform from ParkHub.com developed by Dialexa using Verifone Technology

February 08, 2016

Record 1 Car Parked every 2 Seconds at The Big Game

Santa Clara, California, February 8th, 2016 — Dallas-based ParkHub.com’s new Prime parking system, recently launched in January 2015 and already used in over 7 venues worldwide, proved a big winner along with the Broncos in Sunday’s big game. The innovative parking platform was used to speed up parking at the big game, and with 75K people expected to attend game day it did just that. At peak time, 1 vehicle was processed every 2 seconds by the solution. PRIME is a mobile point of sale platform that validates any pre-purchased or reserved parking, records cash transactions, and facilitates credit card transactions.

“We were so excited to help Levi’s Stadium during this year’s Super Bowl”, said George Baker, Founder and President of Parkhub.com. “Our system is able to allow for pre-registration, but also super-fast processing when entering a lot, even if you are paying on the spot in real time.”   The system was developed by Dallas-based Dialexa, a product innovation company. All of the parking information is reported in real-time via an LTE network to a cloud based platform that operators can view from a laptop or a smartphone.

“We built Parkhub’s platform on the same technology stack as Walmart, so that it could scale to millions of transactions a second, and we were excited to see how it performed yesterday.” said Scott Harper, CEO and founder of Dialexa.

Verifone’s handheld mobile point of sale (mPOS) device—the Verifone e315—integrated with PRIME and was used by the event’s parking lot attendants to accept payments and validate (scan) barcodes on pre-purchased parking vouchers. The EMV and NFC enabled device from Verifone–the world’s leader in payments and commerce solutions—was chosen for its remarkable flexibility, which supports all types of payments—including EMV, NFC and mobile wallets—as well as integration across multiple platforms.

“Partnering with ParkHub.com and Dialexa, and supporting the PRIME platform, is truly exciting—especially considering the collaboration enhanced the merchant and user experience at an event as massive as the Super Bowl,” said Jennifer Miles, President of North America for Verifone.
