Park Assist has been awarded the Parking Guidance
System contract for University of Monterrey

NEW YORK, NEW YORK – May 7, 2019 – Park Assist has been awarded the Parking Guidance System (PGS) contract for the new La Estoa construction at the University of Monterrey (Universidad de Monterrey). Referred to as UDEM, the private Roman Catholic institution educates over 12,000 students, including high school students, undergraduates, and postgraduates. Regarded as one of the premier higher education institutions in Mexico, it prides itself on being at the forefront of innovation and offering its students the best resources available.

The new state-of-the-art La Estoa building will house the new parking garage along with restaurants, banks, a concert hall, shops, executive training rooms, and other facilities that will enhance the campus and wider community. Given the sheer number of students and faculty, parking has been a challenge on campus. The new garage will accommodate the parking needs of students and faculty and offers drivers effortless guidance to open spaces using Park Assist’s M4 Parking Guidance System. The patented, camera-based smart-sensor M4 system will help the university alleviate the difficulty of parking on campus and the issue of high traffic flow. The client chose Park Assist for its proven camera-based solution in Parking Guidance.

Park Assist’s solution is to provide color-coded smart-sensors that clearly guide drivers to open spaces, allowing for reduced search and park times and decreased traffic congestion. In addition, UDEM will offer visitors Park Assist’s Find Your Car feature where visitors can locate their vehicle upon reentry to the garage by typing all or part of their license plate numbers. The university was also concerned with maintaining high levels of student safety on campus and elected to include the Park Assist’s Surveillance module as part of its M4 system. Surveillance will offer live-streaming video of individual spaces in the garage, enhancing security and providing peace of mind to parkers.

The new parking garage site inauguration is slated for May 6, 2019. Park Assist worked with Mexican partner Autosistemas who is managing the project.

“Park Assist is honored to work with Autosistemas and the prestigious University of Monterrey in extending the University’s commitment to innovation with our advanced approach to elevating the parking experience,” said Joe Ruggero, Park Assist’s Global Executive Vice President.

City of Round Rock installs INDECT’s superior parking guidance system as part of their downtown revitalization project and smart city vision

April 10, 2019

City of Round Rock installs INDECT’s superior parking guidance system as part of their downtown revitalization project and smart city vision.

ROUND ROCK, TX (April 10, 2019) INDECT USA announces the installation of their ultrasonic parking guidance system at the City of Round Rock in Texas.

Following the successful installation of an INDECT parking guidance system in the Allen R Baca Center Garage last summer, Parking Guidance Systems LLC (PGS) are set to complete their second installation of INDECT equipment in the City Hall Garage by the end of May.

“The INDECT single-space parking guidance system is one of our most popular products,” said Derek Frantz, Head of Business Development at PGS. “We recommend it for busy garages because of its high level of accuracy, robust construction and the option of using sensors with extended LED lights in high ceiling areas.”

The City Hall parking garage is very narrow and hard to navigate. Previously when the garage was full, people would often find themselves stuck on the top level with no room to turn around, making it very hard to get out.  Now, drivers are able to see the number of available spaces clearly displayed on a matrix sign at the garage entrance then simply follow the internal signs to locate the nearest spot.

“This should eliminate the traffic jams caused by overfilling as well as improving people’s overall experience.” said Frantz.

Improving the city’s parking garages is part of the City of Round Rock’s downtown revitalization project, which aims to make the center more walkable and enjoyable with the recent addition of new plazas and fountains.

“Before installing the INDECT system, people would tell me that the city garages were always full and they could never find a space.” said Heath Douglas, Director of Information Technology at the City of Round Rock. “The feeling was that parking was in short supply.”

“Building new infrastructure is expensive and can cost upwards of $2 million.” said Douglas. “By putting sensors in our existing garages, we are able to collect and analyze the actual day-to-day data so we can make an informed decision as to whether a new garage is really needed.”

According to Douglas, the City of Round Rock has plans to extend the parking guidance throughout the city to the new library building scheduled for construction in 2022 and will be installing additional surface sensors on Main Street to monitor the 2-hour parking spaces next year.

“The city’s long-term plan is to have all the garages talking to each other so that when one garage is full, the information will be displayed on a matrix sign at the entrance and drivers will be redirected to the nearest garage with available spaces.” he said.

Once the garages and on-street parking are all interconnected, the city of Round Rock plans to position additional matrix signs around the city to inform the community of upcoming events, provide game information, display emergency announcements and advise of changes to parking availability.  They also plan to offer a frictionless parking app that would show all the available parking in the city.

A smart city vision starts with good technology.  When searching for a parking guidance system, the City of Round Rock wanted to make sure that the product they chose was reliable and underpinned by solid technology that would continue to be of value as the city grew.

“We are really pleased with the INDECT system. The technology has been rock-solid.” said Douglas.  “The system has stood up to our crazy weather extremes and there have been no issues whatsoever.”

“The City of Round Rock is a progressive and innovative city with a long-term vision of seamlessly integrating technology into everyday life,” said Derek Frantz. “We are excited to be involved in setting the ground work for a future smart city.”

Park Assist & Brisbane Airport Corporation Release Ground-breaking Research Proving Park Assist’s M4 Camera-based Parking Guidance System Elevates the Airport Parking Experience

March 25, 2019

Park Assist & Brisbane Airport Corporation Release Ground-breaking Research Proving Park Assist’s M4 Camera-based Parking Guidance System Elevates the Airport Parking Experience.

(New York City, New York) Park Assist, LLC has announced the results of a five-month long data-driven study conducted in collaboration with Brisbane Airport Corporation quantifying the impact of its camera-based smart sensor parking guidance system (PGS) on the airport’s parker experience. According to Dr. Poorvi Kaushik, Park Assist’s Lead Data Scientist for the research study, it is believed to be the first of its kind in the industry, based on the methodology used and sample size.

Designed as an A/B researchmethodology, this ground-breaking study included nearly 1.2 million data points associated with over 120,000 unique customer journeys. During Phase A all pilot lights and way-finding signage of Park Assist’s PGS were disabled, only to be switched on in Phase B. Parking behaviors and outcomes were measured throughout both phases to determine how Park Assist’s way-finding technology impacted driver decision-making and time to park.

The analysis identified several benefits attributed to the PGS. In particular, the time it took drivers to park was reduced by 33% across different times, locations and types of parkers. Under certain scenarios time to park was reduced as much as 50%. These benefits are attributable to the ability of the Park Assist M4 PGS to enhance driver decision-making by providing informed real-time recommendations on where to park.

“Customer experience is at the heart of everything we do at Brisbane Airport.  In our car parks we design each product from the customer’s perspective and always look to innovative ways to improve the experience.  The parking guidance system installed combined with intelligent wayfinding is a great example of how technology can be used to reduce stress and provide a frictionless experience in car parks,” said Martin Ryan, Head of Parking and Transport Services, Brisbane Airport Corporation.

The Brisbane Study is one of several studies Park Assist’s Data Scientists are conducting to evaluate, design and develop products that positively impact parker experience and provide greater control to carpark owners and operators.

“We are truly grateful to Brisbane Airport Corporation who demanded rigorous research standards and protocols to validate Park Assist’s claim that our technology delivers what we have always promised – an elevated parker experience. The results speak for themselves,” said Gary Neff, CEO of Park Assist.

Chicago’s iconic Navy Pier installs INDECT’s premium camera-based parking guidance system

Chicago’s iconic Navy Pier installs INDECT’s premium camera-based parking guidance system

Chicago, IL (February 8, 2019) INDECT USA announces that installation of their premium camera-based parking guidance system, the UPSOLUT, is currently underway at Navy Pier in Chicago, IL.

Navy Pier is the Midwest’s number one tourist attraction with over 8 million visitors each year. Since its construction in 1916, the iconic cultural and entertainment landmark has been the heartbeat of the city, providing visitors with a unique space to relax, unwind and enjoy themselves. With over 50 acres of parks, shops, restaurants and attractions, it’s no surprise that the parking garages are routinely operating at maximum capacity.

“We are excited to be involved in such an iconic project in the heart of Chicago with our local partner RevCon Technology Group.” said Dale Fowler, President of INDECT USA. “RevCon is a great company to work with, they are technically innovative and always thinking of new ways to leverage our products to enhance the parking operations of their customers.”

As part of Navy Pier’s Centennial Vision, 200 UPSOLUT sensors are being installed in both parking garages to monitor a total of 964 spaces. Wayfinding signs will be placed at each decision point to quickly guide drivers to the nearest available space.

The parking guidance system will also feature license plate recognition (LPR), , detailed reports and vehicle location funtionality.

“The Find My Car kiosk was a key part of the system design,” said Fowler. “After a full day of excitement and activity, it is not uncommon for people to forget where they parked their car.   Navy Pier wanted to provide visitors with a simple method of locating their vehicle without the need to contact a garage attendant.”

When a vehicle parks in a space, the UPSOLUT sensor will use its inbuilt camera and LPR software to capture the license plate information and store it with the location of the vehicle in the database. When a person searches for their license plate at the Find My Car Kiosk, the system will display a map of the relevant garage on the screen and highlight the location of their vehicle.

According to Fowler, the system will also store 90 second video footage of vehicles entering and leaving the garage to assist with any potential damage claims.

The UPSOLUT differs from other camera-based systems on the market because it is fully automated and doesn’t require human intervention for accuracy. It is also the only IP67 compliant sensor on the market, meaning it will continue to function even if totally immersed in water and is completely dustproof.

The installation is due to be completed by the end of the first quarter.

Gun Lake Casino installs INDECT parking guidance system

February 01, 2019

Gun Lake Casino installs INDECT parking guidance system.

WAYLAND, MI —  INDECT USA and PARKING GUIDANCE SYSTEMS today jointly announce their latest installation at the Gun Lake Casino in Wayland, Michigan.

An INDECT level counting system was successfully installed in the newly constructed, multi-level parking garage monitoring over 960 spaces as well as a new VIP section. This marks the completion of the final stage of the casino’s $76 million expansion project, which began in 2016.

“Parking guidance has really taken off in the gaming industry. Gun Lake is our eighteenth casino installation in the United States.” said Dale Fowler, President of INDECT USA.

Gaming facilities are busy 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Unlike other industries such as retail, education or air travel, there is no down time. Parking spaces are constantly in hot demand and turnover is high.

“Gaming operators know how important it is to keep their patrons happy. They’re willing to go the extra mile to ensure the experience is enjoyable from the moment they arrive.” said Derek Franz, Head of Business Development at Parking Guidance Systems (PGS).

“An INDECT parking guidance system takes all the stress out of finding a sparking space. Customers arrive happy, relaxed and ready to play.” said Frantz.

After more than a decade in the parking industry, Frantz is familiar with most parking guidance systems on the market and says working with INDECT is a breeze.

“What can I say? It just works.” he said. “It’s easy to install, there’s minimal maintenance and clients are always happy.”

In the last four years, PGS has installed over 60 INDECT installations across North America and has built a reputation for superior product knowledge and quality workmanship.

Situated midway between Grand Rapids and Kalamazoo, Gun Lake Casino is a popular local gaming facility with many stylish bars and entertainment lounges offering live music performances, numerous restaurants and round-the-clock gaming with over 2000 slot machines, 42 table games and a high-limit gaming room.

Owned by the Gun Lake Tribe (formally known as the Match-E-Be-Nash-She-Wish Band of Pottawatomi Indians), Gun Lake Casino has been in operation since 2011 and employs more than 1000 workers.
