In the first 4 weeks of the launch, the app was downloaded an unprecedented 700k times.

About 42% of all parking transactions in New York City are made by phone, which showcases the importance of having an easy-to-use parking payment interface. The new ParkNYC app, launched this October, brings several innovations that aim to streamline the parking experience. Improvements to the app include the ability to pay as you go, in addition to the existing ability to pre-load a ParkNYC wallet. The app also supports the latest models of today’s smartphones, providing users with a better in-app experience than ever before. Users can receive push notifications when time is about to expire, and extend their time through the app.

Thirty days after the launch of the new pay-by-phone ParkNYC app, its success is unmatched. The new app has been downloaded 700,000 times with 500,000 accounts created. In just 4 weeks, the app has processed over 1.8 million parking transactions. Since the launch, ratings for the new app have jumped from 1.4(on the previous app) to 4.6, with over 10k user ratings. Users compliment the new design, thank the development team for the seamless integration, and cite that it is easy to connect.

eleven-x’s eXactpark Solution Selected by the City of Guelph to Improve Parking Access and Urban Mobility

November 30, 2022

eleven-x’s eXactpark Solution Selected by the City of Guelph to Improve Parking Access and Urban Mobility

The solution will provide real-time space status availability and intelligent enforcement to help residents and visitors more easily find parking and reduce traffic

WATERLOO, Ontario, November, 30, 2022 — eleven-x, a global leader providing complete, high-performance, wireless IoT and Smart City solutions, today announced it was selected by the City of Guelph to help the municipality improve the management and oversight of their two-hour free parking program by implementing the company’s innovative eXactpark™ solution. eleven-x’s smart parking solution enables comprehensive parking monitoring via a real-time sensor-based stall occupancy technology and a comprehensive software and parking intelligence platform to enable effective management of the city’s parking assets.

The City of Guelph is a vibrant community of over 143,000 people situated in the heart of southern Ontario with a thriving city center. eXactpark will enable the city to better manage its limited parking resources and reduce traffic congestion by providing  real-time parking stall occupancy data, and software to use this data to manage parking assets and implement advanced intelligent enforcement capabilities.

The comprehensive solution incorporates eleven-x’s award winning, patent pending SPS-X sensor, which provides the stall occupancy data to the eXactpark software suite.  The sensor utilizes multiple technologies including magnetic sensing, radar, Bluetooth, along with advanced edge processing,  to provide industry-leading battery life, reliability and most importantly accuracy. Sensors will be installed in two phases, starting with 250 stalls across the municipality’s unique downtown district, with an additional 1,750 projected to be deployed throughout the city to provide advanced real-time analytics of key parking metrics. The eXactpark software suite not only provides parking intelligence software to the city but  will also enable intelligent parking enforcement capabilities so the city can improve its monitoring capabilities for its two-hour free parking program. The sensors will detect how long vehicles are parked in, a space and will be used to enforce the free two-hour limit and to inform longer-term planning for parking needs.

“Many municipalities have free parking policies. It is typically challenging to efficiently monitor, manage and ensure usage compliance for a resource that is offered free of charge. This makes it difficult to maintain the best experience for drivers, since it leads to excessive traffic, and frustrates residents, visitors and ultimately the small business owners who rely on them” said Dan Mathers, President and CEO of eleven-x. “the capabilities that eXactpark provides, including real-time availability and intelligent enforcement, will help the City of Guelph to streamline parking operations, resulting in cost savings,  while at the same time reducing traffic and improving access to downtown businesses.”

eXactpark’s intelligent enforcement and real-time status and monitoring capabilities are essential to the city as it helps reduce cruise times, improves road safety and reduces greenhouse gas emissions. The data and insights provided by the smart parking solution will also provide the City of Guelph actionable insights to help with parking asset planning and dynamic pricing initiatives.

“This technology will help make parking downtown easier and more convenient. Eventually, this data will be available on our website so visitors will know – in real time – how many parking spaces are available before they head downtown. These sensors will also improve road safety and lower greenhouse gas emissions across the city.” said Jamie Zettle, Program Manager, Parking at the City of Guelph. “We decided to partner with eleven-x since we have seen the successful deployment of the company’s eXactpark solution in multiple major cities and institutions across North America.”

eXactPark uses LoRaWAN®, a low-power technology that offers a 10-year battery life and minimal maintenance. For more information on eleven-x’s eXactpark solution please visit exactpark.com.

Beam Global Receives $2.9M Order from U.S. Department of Homeland Security for Sustainable EV Charging Infrastructure Products*

November 14, 2022

Beam Global Receives $2.9M Order from U.S. Department of Homeland Security for Sustainable EV Charging Infrastructure Products*

SAN DIEGO, Nov. 14, 2022  — Beam Global, (Nasdaq: BEEM, BEEMW), the leading provider of innovative sustainable products and technologies for electric vehicle (EV) charging, energy storage, energy security and outdoor media, announced that the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has ordered 32 Beam EV ARC™ sustainable off-grid charging systems and 3 ARC Mobility™ trailers for efficient system transport. The systems will be deployed across 8 locations for Customs Border Patrol (CBP), Federal Law Enforcement Training Centers (FLETC) and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). EO 14057 Catalyzing Clean Energy Industries and Jobs Through Federal Sustainabilityprioritizes federal investment in energy resilient infrastructure for EV charging, powered by locally produced and delivered renewable energy for America’s next generation electricity supply. The purchase was made through the General Services Administration (GSA) Multiple Award Schedule (MAS) Contract Number 47QSWA21D0006 which simplifies the federal procurement process and ensures best pricing.

The DHS charging systems will be deployed in Georgia, Maryland, New Mexico, South Carolina, and 4 locations in Puerto Rico. The Beam EV ARC™ systems are off-grid and powered by renewable energy, generating and storing their own clean electricity. Each system is deployed with no construction, no electrical work, no utility connection, and is delivered as a turnkey sustainable charging system that is rapidly deployed. Because EV ARC™ systems are flood proof to 9.5 feet and wind rated to 125 mph, and have survived much higher wind speeds in the field, they are particularly well suited to provide disaster preparedness in environments like Puerto Rico. The ARC Mobility™ trailer is a specialized hydraulic transport system designed to efficiently relocate EV ARC™ charging systems.

“Our products are perfect for Executive Order (14057) for a Clean Energy Economy: resilient, clean, sustainable and rapidly deployed EV charging infrastructure solutions,” said Desmond Wheatley, Beam Global CEO. “We continue to see increasing federal GSA orders and pipeline opportunities citing federal initiatives. Our sustainable EV charging solutions create American manufacturing jobs to build American made products that serve zero emission transportation with 100% locally generated renewable and resilient energy.”

The federal fleet is comprised of approximately 657,500 vehicles. President Biden’s Executive Order 14057 with its accompanying Federal Sustainability Plan calls for 100% zero-emission vehicle acquisitions by 2035, including 100% light-duty acquisitions by 2027. This is prioritizing and accelerating a Federal Clean Electricity and Vehicle Procurement Strategy, calling for clean and zero emissions vehicles (ZEVs) for federal, state, local and tribal government fleets, including vehicles of the United States Postal Service.

Beam products can be procured through the General Services Administration (GSA) Multiple Award Schedule (MAS) Contract Number 47QSWA21D0006 which simplifies the federal procurement process and ensures best pricing.

Cleverciti: Welcome to Miami!

Cleverciti is thrilled to announce our new partnership with the Miami Parking Authority (MPA). Cleverciti will work with the MPA to enable them to improve curb management operations, reduce curb abuse, and create a “white glove” parking experience for drivers.

Effectively managing the curb in the trendy Midtown neighborhood of Miami has become increasingly difficult in recent years. As traffic has increased, so has congestion and curb abuse from all vehicle types. In response, the Miami Parking Authority (MPA) piloted various technologies to help resolve these issues yet struggled to find a comprehensive platform that simultaneously tackled curb abuse, delivered driver guidance, and integrated payment methods with real-time occupancy data to reveal compliance levels.

Fortunately, as the MPA was shaping a revised strategy they learned of the Cleverciti solution implemented in Redwood City, California that solved similar challenges.  In partnership, the teams collaborated on a scalable solution designed to reduce congestion and curb management issues, while enhancing the driver experience for those parking in Midtown.

The initial phase of the MPA plan will concentrate on the heart of Midtown (Buena Vista Blvd, NE 1st Ave between 36thSt and 32nd St) and will include:

  1. 12 Circ 360 Ultras installed at intersections guiding drivers to available spaces.
  2. 43 sensors to monitor the complete curb providing a fully integrated view of payment compliance, occupancy status, and loading zone activity all from the Cleverciti Cockpit.
  3. The Cockpit will equip the MPA with new levels of analytical insights, full reporting features, heatmaps, a live view dashboard, and automated Clever Enforcement alerts to MPA staff to mitigate curb abuses.
  4. The MPA and Cleverciti will share data between systems using the Curb Data Specification (CDS), a digital tool created by the Open Mobility Foundation that helps cities and companies pilot and scale dynamic curb zones. The CDS provides a mechanism for expressing static and dynamic regulations, measuring activity at the curb, and developing policies that create more accessible, useful curbs.

As the project rolls-out, the MPA will use Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure congestion, curb abuse, and payment compliance. Based on project averages across Cleverciti’s global customer base, the MPA anticipates double-digit improvements in each category. Additionally, with access to Cleverciti’s comprehensive parking management platform, the MPA will look to integrate existing technologies to further streamline operations across its portfolio.

Cooperatively, the leadership of the MPA and Cleverciti have committed to finding and sharing answers to elusive curb management questions with the aim of moving the parking, mobility, and transportation industry forward collectively.

Company’s Real-Time Infrastructure Applications for Connected and Autonomous Vehicles Recognized as Top Transportation Technology

DETROIT, MI – (November 1, 2022) – Derq, an award-winning MIT spin-off and leading provider of real-time artificial intelligence (AI) analytics solutions for connected roads and vehicles, today announced that it has won the “Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X) Company of the Year” award in Tech Breakthrough’s 3rd annual AutoTech Breakthrough Awards.

Since 2020, the AutoTech Breakthrough Awards have recognized the “breakthrough” companies, products, and services that have demonstrated its use across the many sectors of transportation to work more efficiently and react to real-time changes and conditions. With over 1,500 nominations this year from companies in over 15 different countries, Derq now ranks among the top companies and startups in the automotive technology industry.

As Derq understands the increasing global need to decrease traffic-related fatalities, the company’s SENSE infrastructure solution was recognized for its cooperative perception and traffic management applications. By generating connected vehicle messages with ultra-low latency and high positional accuracy in compliance with automotive standards, the solution provides full situational awareness to connected and autonomous vehicles (CAV), and detects and predicts dangerous conflicts with pedestrians, vehicles, or other vulnerable road users (VRU) to avoid collisions. The solution uses a variety of communication technologies including C-V2X and LTE / 5G to alert connected vehicles and VRU mobile apps.

Additionally, the V2X Company of the Year Award recognized Derq’s deployments of its solutions across the U.S. and globally, as well as the company’s successful partnerships with several global V2X players, including Qualcomm, Kapsch, DENSO, and Econolite. This ultimately demonstrated to the AutoTech Breakthrough judges how Derq’s technology can integrate with existing ITS and automotive systems to deliver industry leading V2X solutions.

“We are incredibly honored that the AutoTech Breakthrough Awards recognize our connected infrastructure and vehicle technology to help community agencies and municipal organizations across the globe reduce road fatalities for all users and move toward Vision Zero,” said Dr. Georges Aoude, CEO and Co-Founder of Derq. “Derq understands the importance of creating safer and smarter roads and we look forward to continuing to make an impact across many U.S and international communities.”
