Nonprofit Partners with Mobile Parking Giants FLASH and ParkWhiz to Help Offset Cost of Parking for Chicago-area NICU Families

Nonprofit Partners with Mobile Parking Giants FLASH and ParkWhiz to Help Offset Cost of Parking for Chicago-area NICU Families

Chicago, IL  –The Jackson Chance Foundation goes high tech with new friends to spread its mission! The nonprofit proudly announces a partnership with mobile parking innovators FLASH and ParkWhiz to help spread its mission to make hospital parking for NICU families as easy and efficient as possible.

ParkWhiz app is a digital parking service that allows users to locate available parking spaces before reaching their destinations. No more stumbling to find parking tickets or dealing with parking machines when minutes matter most. In support of the Jackson Chance Foundation, ParkWhiz is promoting the mission of the foundation to its user base and providing the opportunity for donations.

Carrie Meghie, Jackson Chance Foundation co-founder said, “We are constantly looking for strategic partners to spread awareness of the Jackson Chance Foundation, the partnership with FLASH and ParkWhiz is a natural fit. It opens the door to educating the mission on how parking impacts NICU families and how the Jackson Chance Foundation fills that gap in Chicago.”

“Many hospitals define patient experience solely through clinical measures,” says Jonathan Isaacs, Vice President of Healthcare Sales at FLASH. “But the reality is that there are many environmental and psychological factors that contribute to a patient’s ability to get well, even more so when that patient is a newborn. Partnering with Jackson Chance Foundation was a great opportunity for us to support family involvement in the healing process.”

Visiting a baby in the NICU every day is just as important to recovery as the medical care they receive. But many families are unable to afford the transportation costs to make this a possibility, meaning many babies are left alone. Just one day of visitor parking, at a top Level IV Chicago NICU can cost upwards of $75.00, resulting in parking fees upwards of $1,000 per month. The average length of stay for a baby in a top NICU is 28 days, but the majority are there for months at a time. Jackson Chance Foundation believes this battle shouldn’t be fought alone or be plagued by additional burdens. Removing the financial burden of parking gives families the opportunity to be with their baby 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

“For NICU families, parking should be a forgettable experience, which is why FLASH is proud to be partnering with the Jackson Chance Foundation,” said Neil Golson, EVP of Marketing & Strategic Partnerships for FLASH. “We are fortunate that we can leverage the ParkWhiz platform to tap into our userbase and help support local Chicago families in need.”

This new partnership kicks-off in early June 2021 at all local Jackson Chance Foundation NICU parking locations, including Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago, Northwestern Prentice Women’s Hospital, and most recently Rush University Children’s Hospital. The Jackson Chance Foundation will also continue to offer its traditional parking passes to NICU families.

About Jackson Chance Foundation (JCF)
At Jackson Chance Foundation, we remove the financial burden of parking fees, giving every family the opportunity to be with their child. Through our NICU Transportation Program, we partner with hospitals to provide complimentary parking passes for families with critically ill babies in the NICU. By providing these passes, we ensure that each NICU baby receives their basic human rights: advocacy, support, and human touch 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. In short, we give families access to the best hospitals, neonatal specialists, surgical abilities, and nursing staff that they otherwise may have to turn down because of the high cost of parking to get there. Our program is available at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago and Northwestern Prentice Women’s Hospital and most recently expanded to Rush University Children’s Hospital. To date, all admin costs are covered by the founders’ family in honor of their son Jackson Chance, for whom the foundation was started in his legacy. For more information, please visit www.jacksonchance.org. JCF is an Illinois non-for-profit, tax-exempt 501(c) (3) organization.

ARRIVE ADDS INNOVATIVE SMART PARKING RECOMMENDATION ENGINE TO ITS INDUSTRY-LEADING ENTERPRISE PARKING PLATFORM, COMBINING ON- AND OFF-STREET PARKING IN A SINGLE SOLUTION

ARRIVE ADDS INNOVATIVE SMART PARKING RECOMMENDATION ENGINE TO ITS INDUSTRY-LEADING ENTERPRISE PARKING PLATFORM, COMBINING ON- AND OFF-STREET PARKING IN A SINGLE SOLUTION

Arrive Announces Acquisition of Tel Aviv-based sPARK and Integrates Its Smart Parking Recommendation Engine Into Connected Cars, Fleets, Navigation Platforms, and Voice Systems

CHICAGO, March 5, 2020 — Finding parking is now easier than ever. Arrive announced today that it has added industry-first features to its enterprise parking platform that will radically transform the way we park: a smart parking recommendation engine that suggests the best on-street or off-street place to park and transacts seamlessly using your voice, in-dash system or mobile phone.

Arrive becomes the only parking technology company to integrate a variety of data sources into its platform, including navigation details, traffic, weather, on-street parking prices and availability, dynamically priced off-street parking, and deliver it through a cutting edge recommendation engine for customers.  Through the acquisition of sPARK Parking Technologies and their industry-leading technology, Arrive reinforces its position as the leading provider of transactional parking solutions for connected cars, autonomous vehicles, car share companies, and more, and provides drivers an unparalleled parking experience.

“Imagine having a personal assistant who helps you choose and navigate to the best spot while considering price, availability and parking restrictions from among the myriad options in real time. We are making that a reality today,” said Yona Shtern, CEO of Arrive. “We’re thrilled to be the first to offer customers and partners a single source for all types of parking and a profoundly better experience finding, paying for, and navigating to the best space possible in cities across North America. This is a game-changer — not only for our company but for our partners building smart cities and experiences in vehicles that will shape the future of mobility.”

When a driver selects a destination via an Arrive-powered mobile app or website or asks Alexa or other voice platforms to find a parking space near their desired destination, Arrive’s platform will recommend the single best space available in real-time by comparing on-street metered spaces with unmetered blocks and off-street options in a lot or garage. The recommendation provided will vary depending on the day of the week, time of day, how many people are parked in the area, other events happening and more.

Arrive’s recommendation engine will launch first through the ParkWhiz Alexa skill and on the company’s apps in select cities this summer before expanding nationwide. While Arrive had been building and testing a recommendation engine for some time, it is acquiring sPARK, a Tel Aviv-based technology company, to help scale the engine to multiple cities more quickly. On-street parking pricing and availability will be provided by a network of partner companies and providers.

“We’re delighted to be joining Arrive in its mission to transform mobility through its smart, connected parking services. Our team has been focused on making parking easier to find for a long time and we believe our technology and experience will further accelerate Arrive’s evolution into the backbone of urban mobility,” says Zohar Bali, CEO of sPARK.

sPARK employees will join Arrive’s existing team in Tel Aviv at the company’s Global Mobility Lab. Together, they will focus on building and enhancing technology that facilitates the last mile of mobility, including recently launched connectivity solutions that will enable frictionless garage entry and exit at tens of thousands of lots across North America.

About sPARK

JULY 30, 2019, CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Carolina Panthers are making it easier for their fans to get to the stadium on gameday. Financing From Industry Leaders Will Help Accelerate Expansion of ParkWhiz’s ArriveTM Connected Mobility Network

Chicago, November 13, 2018 – ParkWhiz announced today that it added an additional $5 million in equity to its recently announced Series D financing, bringing the total funding round led by NewSpring Capital to $25 million. The additional funding includes investments from strategic investors including Amazon’s Alexa Fund, Alate Partners, Chaifetz Group and Purple Arch Ventures.

The proceeds will be used to further expand the company’s industry-leading Arrive Network – ParkWhiz’s friction-free parking network. The partners were an ideal fit based on their ability to add value beyond capital and help the company more rapidly expand its consumer reach and its inventory coverage.

“The Alexa Fund was created to support companies building compelling products and services that leverage voice technology, and ParkWhiz is a fast-growing company that fits that profile perfectly,” said Paul Bernard, director of the Amazon Alexa Fund. “Customers love using its Alexa skill to find and reserve parking spaces using just their voice, and we’re excited to support them as they pursue deeper integrations with Alexa at home and on the go.”

“We’re excited to invest side-by-side with other great investors in a business model that we see as a disruptive force in the mobility space and that provides new options for the consumer,” said Dr. Richard A. Chaifetz, Chairman of Chicago-based Chaifetz Group.

“We’ve been working closely with Amazon and Alate Partners, and we’re excited to welcome them as strategic investors in ParkWhiz,” said Yona Shtern CEO and Executive Chairman of ParkWhiz. “It represents an important opportunity for us to work together to further accelerate our growth, expand our inventory footprint to more premium properties in major urban centers across North America and bring a better way to park to millions of consumers through the Arrive Network.”

Any driver using an Arrive-powered app or registered vehicle will be able to experience seamless payments and truly friction-free entry and exit at participating lots and garages.

“We partner with companies that disrupt the status quo in the real estate industry and use technology to rethink how physical assets are managed,” added Courtney Cooper, Director of Corporate Development at Alate Partners. “ParkWhiz’s ability to improve the parking experience while maximizing profits for real estate owners and managers is really impressive and has massive potential on a global scale.”

ParkWhiz has expanded rapidly over the last two years, providing more than 40 million customers with parking reservations and drive-up, friction-free parking experiences in garages and lots in the U.S. and Canada. It powers transactional parking services for hundreds of distribution partners, including sports teams and venues, events, travel providers, airlines, hotels, automotive OEMs, and navigation systems within their own apps, websites and emails.
