Village of Orland Park Launches Passport Mobile Parking App
New Mobile Payment Provider Available for Orland Park Metra Stations
ORLAND PARK, IL – The Village of Orland Park has launched a new mobile parking payment system at its three Metra commuter parking lots. Commuters can now pay for parking using Passport, the Village’s new mobile payment provider.
Like the Village’s previous mobile payment app, commuters can pay for parking using their phones. With Passport, commuters will enjoy a simpler sign up process with more app features and a pre-paid wallet.
“We are continuing our quest to make Village services as convenient as possible,” said Orland Park Mayor Dan McLaughlin. “Like the Village’s previous app, this parking app is available for commuters making it more convenient to buy their daily parking sessions for the train stations.”
The app’s pre-paid wallet, designed with regular Metra commuters in mind, will make the payment process even quicker. Passport users will be asked to load an initial amount of $25 and can replenish their wallets in $5 increments above $25 as balances become low.
During the launch, users can also take advantage of a universal validation code. Users can enter the validation code 60462 into the app to receive one free daily rate of parking.
Trustee Carole Griffin Ruzich chairs the Village’s Finance Committee.
“A number of other Chicago suburbs are using the Passport app for their commuters,” Griffin Ruzich said. “We’re looking forward to making the commuter process more convenient for our residents who take the train each day.”
Passport’s mobile app will be available at Orland Park’s 143rd Street, 153rd Street and 179th Street stations. During the month of June, both Passport and the Village’s prior mobile payment provider will be available for use. However, on July 1, Orland Park will switch exclusively to the Passport app.
